Well- we had a great time thank you!
The weather was pretty glorious (though it did rain incessantly the 4.5 hour drive down, stopped 20mins before we arrived).
Neither child was impressed by the beach within walking distance (DS was upset by the crashing waves and DD didn't like walking on the pebbles!), though they liked the beach at Weymouth when we went down there... but it was too windy to stay there for long that day. Dorchester seems lovely, but was mainly closed as we went on Bank Holiday Monday. We did brave the Dinosaur Museum though
The site was great after BH weekend, when most people left and we had loads of space around for children to play, and noise levels dampened down a little (first night was horrendous actually- we were camped between 2 huge groups, who seemed to be celebrating birthdays.) We were in Flat Field, and it's pretty sheltered, and it was easy to get everywhere, even for my 2yo. Both children adored the animals... DS is obsessed with the pig now.
We had campfires on 3 nights, which we all loved, and the children were v sensible and kept back nicely (whilst waving their glow sticks maniacally).
The only hairy bits were taking down the tent as we bought a new one the day before travelling, and had never pitched/struck it before... thankfully some lovely people close by with same tent assisted in the final push.
