gosh they are a work of genius... sturdy and lovely and bright colours and work as a chopping board until they fold into a darling little colander/fruit bowl...

Ohno, just winking because I see you with another thread ideal for swears, but probably is offlimits iyswim?

I had a look at the link you gave - do you think it would be ppossible to use the flattened out colander as a comme ci comme ca chopping board?

I know you campists like multi-function objects.

AitchTwoOh · 28/07/2011 22:41

absolutely, the one i got says that's what it is... guess the joseph joseph one thinks its for display rather than camping. btw it is IDENTICAL, i just checked. absolutey identical... apart from the price.

oh and re swears by, i reckon that if other people buy them and rave obligingly, then we are go go go. Grin

Oh I really need a colander but have no Home Bargains near me :( Is there a brand in case I can get it online somewhere?

AitchTwoOh · 29/07/2011 23:05

iirc it just said 'as seen on TV', sorry.

OP posts:
AlmaMartyr · 30/07/2011 09:17

Thanks! I'll get myself one of those. I need a chopping board too so it's ideal!

AitchTwoOh · 30/07/2011 10:31

that's the fella! although bit of a cheeky postage price, that... £1.99?!

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 30/07/2011 10:32

(personally, i would say it would make a reasonably annoying chopping board in the house btw. stuff will fall through the holes and it will start to look all ugly. great for camping though.)

OP posts:
AlmaMartyr · 30/07/2011 16:06

Yes, I was a bit Hmm at the postage price. I'll only be using it for camping, can add it to my big red box of camping essentials (always on standby in case of an unexpectedly free and good weekend!)

Nikkid21 · 30/07/2011 17:46

Postage price isn't too bad if it is bigger than royal mail large letter rate. A 2nd class packet weighing. 100g to 250g is £1.76

Now I'll just hide myself in shame at nerdy postal rate knowledge Blush

AitchTwoOh · 30/07/2011 21:18

gosh. i am impressed, nikki.

OP posts:
AlmaMartyr · 30/07/2011 21:20

Actually you're right Nikkid, I'd forgotten they'd changed the postage rates so it is fair enough. I bought one anyway :)

lovecat · 31/07/2011 15:22

Joseph Joseph also do a folding chopping board that has a colander 'end' to it - it works a lot better at being a chopping board but is still big enough to drain efficiently. However you can't use it as a fruit bowl. They have them in TK Maxx for a few quid, which is where I got ours from.

AitchTwoOh · 31/07/2011 15:24

ah yes my sister has that one HOWEVER it can't be used as a fruit bowl when not in use, can it? CAN IT? Wink

But I've only just beeen to Home Bargains! And that was for a long list of stuff I'd seen the weekend before but had to check out before I bought (fyi, the Tonka Mod Machine reviews are poor but the Marbulous marble run set is compatible with Marbutopia).

Can I ask which section you found these these wonderful chopping/draining gadgets in? Home or camping?

AitchTwoOh · 31/07/2011 21:09

sorry, i can't remember, but it was deffo one or the other. [helpful]

I got one of these from one of those companies who bring books etc. into the workplace and used it for the first time last week when camping. It's an excellent addition to the camping essentials for me!

biscuitmad · 02/08/2011 00:48
