gosh they are a work of genius... sturdy and lovely and bright colours and work as a chopping board until they fold into a darling little colander/fruit bowl...

My DH scoffed at mine too - he is also wrong .... Grin

I have got one now too - what a bargain!

Lastyearsmodel · 03/08/2011 15:40

Got one! And extra as present for camping friend. Also noticed handy set of cups that stack into a small jug. No measuring marks though.

This thread led to the discovery of a huge new Home Bargains within walking distance of our house that only opened on Saturday. It was bedlam inside, large extended family groups shuffling up the aisles, eyes wide with awe. They didn't have enough tills on and there was loud muttering, then the card machines crashed and it got a bit ugly.

Totally worth it for the sword and wand jumbo glowsticks though.

Oh, brilliant! I've been yearning after the Lakeland one, but am far too tight frugal to buy it. This is the same thing for IKEA prices.

(And on the Ebay front - not only is it more or less cost, but s/he can't be sending it recorded without making a loss, which unfortunately means if a dodgy buyer wants to claim non-receipt Paypal will take their word for it and just refund the whole cost. I'd never sell on Ebay without a signed-for postage as a result, which probably annoys buyers but does mean I'm not out the item and the money).

perfectstorm · 03/08/2011 17:53

Oh, and they have - sadly it doesn't list the board, though. :(

perfectstorm · 03/08/2011 17:54

Oops. Got my Mumsnet and my html muddled. Sorry. Blush

What colours do the Home Bargains one come in? There isn't a store near me and I want to ask my sister to get me the colander but need to tell her exactly what I want. Thanks

Lastyearsmodel · 03/08/2011 21:03

GNewbold - iirc from this afternoon: white, pale blue, brightish yellow, orange and a nice weird lime/apple green.

SixtyFootDoll · 03/08/2011 21:06

Excellent recommendation! Thanks OP

Aitch, made a special trip to Home Bargains today after work and now have custody of my £1.99 colanderGrin. I also needed a camping grater and got a nice little compact one for a bargainous 99p.

AitchTwoOh · 03/08/2011 21:46

i LOVE that shop.

for camping purposes might i also recommend the galaxy/maltesers/hot choc cups that they do. £1 for 8 of those klik cups like you get in dispensers, just add water etc. i always like a hot choc before bed but can't be arsed getting cups/pot dirty last thing at night. and they're very much the sort of thing that can be left in the camping box.

Lastyearsmodel - Thanks much appreciated!

AlmaMartyr · 04/08/2011 16:11

Mine arrived this afternoon and is fantastic! DD is using it as a pretend shopping basket at the moment. My DMother was very impressed as well.

Thanks for the tip about the hot choc things Aitch, I'll keep an eye out for them in other places.

winefairy · 05/08/2011 18:42

Darn! Made a special trip to Home Bargains and they didn't have any. I really wanted the lime green one and can't even find one on eBay. They look really handy. Grrrr!!!

mogs0 · 05/08/2011 21:14

I got the last one in my local hb yesterday. It didn't have a tag on it so the girl let me have it for 99p!

francophilesplease · 04/06/2012 19:59

hi, anyone know where you can get these now? The cheapie ones, not the lovely joseph ones (unless they're £3!!).

Thankyou!
