so I am fed up with the rest of MN (this whole mamazon shite really is the ,last straw), so I am assuming that if any of you are trolling you are showing extraordinary persistence by delving into the thrills of iceytec and are worth chatting to.

So anyway, hi, I am SeaShells, I have 2 dc and have been camping and trapsing through the Great Outdoors all my life. I hang out here as my love of camping is more a love of the countryside and life, and you lot have a similar outlook.

Happy birthday Reshape! :)

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 16/07/2011 22:40

Lost, have a fabulous trip. I mentioned your tour de France to DH and he is most Envy

ReshapeWhileDamp · 16/07/2011 23:17

I'm 38. (Shock) I apologised to my mother earlier on for being her 38 yr old daughter but she said she didn't care, she still felt like a 21 yr old!

notwavingjustironing · 17/07/2011 09:39

You've probably gone by now Losty but have a fab trip!

glitterkitty · 17/07/2011 13:59

Ah, Losts trip sounds grand! I am Envy.

Well, we are back from Dorset. I have rotten death cough (as opposed to deathsocks they were not necessary hurrah) So we had to come back early and miss Inside Park (bah) so I could lay in bed and feel like death in comfort.

I can report that:

  1. Ulwell Cottage site was indeed v v pretty and clean and nice. Right in middle of purbecks- nice walks over downs right from site. Lovely play park. Nice bread in site shop. Hot showers. Shame I was 'that coughing woman' that all the surrounding tents hated...
  1. The Icy Tek was well worth it and lots of dry white wine helps soothe a hideous cough.
  1. Swanage and Studland are really very nice.
  1. A pack of 'seashore' cards and many games of chase the ace will satisfy the most demanding toddler. Every night.
  1. You should really remember to pack ALL your tent poles- or you will have to ask your kind MIL to find the missing pole (in hard to access basement) package it up and post to you at great expense. In the meantime your tent will look like it was pitched by an incompetent, or indeed Baldrick.

Off to read the thread properly now...

OhYouBadBadCrookshanks · 17/07/2011 14:26

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 17/07/2011 14:43

OYBBC, glad you got your bag back (massive detour though, doh!)

We are
Chilling out watching Charlottes web, though given it's stopped raining I'll have to drag them outside!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/07/2011 14:48

definitely 'doh' SeaShells. hey ho. As it had my purse with all my cards and camera and stuff I am very very grateful!

Funtimewincies · 17/07/2011 15:38

Happy (belated Blush) Birthday reshape. I'm 36, camping does seem to be a mid-life crisis-related activity Grin!

Lost - you'll have gone but bon voyage anyway Smile.

Glitterkitty - glad you had a good time and get well soon. Re: the poles - oops!

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 17/07/2011 17:16

I'm 30 :)

glitterkitty · 17/07/2011 18:27

Im 38. But I look 58 after the last week.

scaryt · 17/07/2011 18:51

Just back from kind friend's house.

I am now in possession of...
a double airbed
a single airbed
a foot pump and pump that connects to car
a water carrier
all cutlery and crockery and kitchen utensils (even though we have some in the caravan she thought it would be handy to have a set with the tent)
a small table
2 folding chairs
2 groundsheets
a cool box
ice blocks
pots and pans
a little chopping board
a 2 burner stove and grill
a gas bottle
a squishy pillow for the boy
a washing up bowl

How lucky am I?

notwavingjustironing · 17/07/2011 18:54

Forty three

But I look 30

*See my comments earlier in the thread about mirrors and looking in them for an accurate steer on how delusional that really means.

notwavingjustironing · 17/07/2011 18:56

X-posts and I cant spell.....Gah

Funtimewincies · 17/07/2011 19:17

People keep telling my that I'm looking good for my age and that I've got the skin of someone in their 20s.

I reckon that the trick is to NEVER wear makeup, so no-one ever sees you looking any better. Their brain fills in the blanks. Whereas, if you normally look groomed and people see you looking a bit rough, they notice straight away.

That's my theory, anyway...or I'm just becoming preserved in alcohol Grin!

notwavingjustironing · 17/07/2011 19:27

Scaryt that's a proper haul! Do you have to give it back or has a disgruntled camper given up on The Great Outdoors ?

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 17/07/2011 21:31

Scaryt that is one hell of a good friend! Good haul Grin

So dh has been away nearly a week and I'm so bored I'm flicking between Australia/grand designs/the departed/mn someone take the chocolate away from me and send me to bed!!

Thanks to this thread I've got my frigging smear tomorrow-life is full of excitement!!

glitterkitty · 17/07/2011 21:32

Remember the delta pegs seashells.

Have a Wine and send me your bloody choc

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 17/07/2011 21:33

Life is truly so exciting-as you can tell by all the exclamation marks in that post

Grin :) :( Blush

scaryt · 17/07/2011 21:36

I do have to give it back but have free use of it all til August bank holiday at least. Grin

Lie back and think of delta pegs Sea Wink if glitter's not had all the choc you can willingly send some my way!

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 17/07/2011 21:36

Ah, you see although normally delta pegs are very interesting, when I'm on a examination bench whith a woman with a very cold speculum in her hand, I do not want pegs in my head!!

glitterkitty · 17/07/2011 21:41

Nooo...v true... think of a beautiful bell tent with a tealight chandelier or something and imagine you are carefully cutting a hole in the side?

If it helps I had my first in years about 3m ago, it was a lot less bad than I expected.

notwavingjustironing · 17/07/2011 21:41

Seashells, lovely, it will be over in a heartbeat and you can relax for the next couple of years. I've had a ropey scan this week and am waiting for the results so I feel your pain Smile

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 17/07/2011 21:57

Aw that pants notwaving, I hope it's all ok. I've had a few scans etc myself and thre wait is awful

notwavingjustironing · 17/07/2011 22:06

The more people tell me not to worry the more I worry !

I'm rubbish because I come across to everyone as in control but I can't control this !
