needanewname · 26/05/2011 22:56

can I have some marshmallows too Grin

MisSalLaneous · 26/05/2011 23:08

Hmm... Uhm. Ok, but only if I can come and sit with you around the campfire.

needanewname · 26/05/2011 23:11

Oh go on then - but you can;t say anything nasty about my bunting!

FlubbaBubba · 26/05/2011 23:12

Can I join you two or is it a private Marshmallow and Wine Fest? :o (You can have the pink ones, I don't mind :))

MisSalLaneous · 26/05/2011 23:24

The more the merrier, Flubba. Entrance fee is one pack, after that sharing. Grin

PS: I'm working on a master plan wrt wood burner, you two might even join me in winter if this works...

MisSalLaneous · 26/05/2011 23:25

Hah, and needanewname, I see your bunting and raise you a hammock.

startail · 26/05/2011 23:35

This is precisely why I would not let the girls talk me into buying a tent.
They muttered that I am being boring going to Mallorca again.
However, they like to spend dawn to dusk in either the pool or snorkelling in the sea. More to the point DH and I also unwind by swimming and I'm too old to freeze.
You'd have to be mad to spend every day in the water in GB unless your a serious diver or surfer with serious kit.
Therefore, DD2 that would mean that some of your holiday might be spent heaven forbid dry (well under an umbrella) and looking at things cultural. Unfortunately that would mean DH, DD1 and my enjoyment of these would be spoilt by you moaning.

sphil · 27/05/2011 17:46

needanewname - we have a foldimg camper and it definitely flaps! Though DH did find some pole thingies that he apparently should have threaded somewhere last time and didnt. So that may be why....

auntpetunia · 27/05/2011 19:01

another one here, we are off to Lincoln and the forecast is rain, rain and wind and more rain. fantastic - kids have packed their thermals and wellies. And I am very dubious as we are in the smaller tent so if it's rains we are going to be very cramped AND it doesn't have a SIG so I have visions of rivers running under the tent. But we have our delta pegs so the wind can do what it likes and as the site is said to be stoney they will be good for that too.

We will have a good time whatever.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 29/05/2011 19:18

Hope you are all staying dry and tents are still standingSmile

We are near Birmingham, dry but cold and windy.

Due to rain for packing up tomorrow Hmm

NormanTebbit · 29/05/2011 19:39

We are back from Mull of Kintyre a day early. Torrential rain as we writer on Friday, then changeable on Sat with spells of sunshine, showers, rain and a cold, cold wind. Sat night was incredibly stormy, wind and rain lashing down, could hear the sea roaring. More storms forecast today so we a packed up this morning ( in the rain) and headed off.

That said, the site was stunningly beautiful and the kids had a brilliant time climbing rocks, running about on the beach and we managed to make a fire toast marshmallows and cook potatoes, so it was worth it. And we didn't even finish the brandy !

NormanTebbit · 29/05/2011 19:40

arrived nor writer damn autocorrect

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 30/05/2011 15:46

Mull of Kintyre sounds beautiful, not sure I would be brave enough to camp that far north though

We packed up in pouring rain, all very organised until we realised the tent bag was still in the tent.... after we had it all foldedGrin We are a pair of idiots!!!

Tent is now pitched very badly in our 'not quite big enough for the tent' garden.

FlubbaBubba · 30/05/2011 19:10

Back home and managed to avoid real rain but by golly the winds in our corner of the field tested our tent pegs. Much fun had by all, and currently deep-cleaning the LOs :o

needanewname · 30/05/2011 19:49

A hammock - am soooo jealous!!!

We were in Suffolk, managed to avoid the rain, was very windy though. And of course as we were packing up today it was glorious sunshine Sad

We're off to Cornwall tomorrow though so fingers crossed. Am also hoping its a better site as the one we were at was pretty shit im my opninion!

needanewname · 30/05/2011 19:49

And of course anyone can join in the marshmallow feast Grin

Lucycat · 30/05/2011 20:04

Windy on Saturday and wet overnight but glorious in Anglesey today from about 11am - lovely walk on Trearddur Bay beach and the forecast looks ok for the rest of the week.
Not like Easter though......Grin

MisSalLaneous · 30/05/2011 20:24

Spent all day deep cleaning and throwing stuff out (7, oh yes, SEVEN, bags and you can't actually see any difference, sigh), so I am very jealous of you lot out galavanting! Glad to see weather is getting better, and that at least most all of you seemed to survive the weekend. :)
