Cambridge Day 2

PercyPea · 04/01/2024 13:25

Wondered if anyone is just starting the Cambridge 1:1?

I’ve got 4.5 stone to lose to get back to my pre-baby weight. My baby is nearly 6 years old 😂

I’m on step 1b (4 products a day). Really enjoying it so far.

I’ve hidden my scales and will just do weigh ins with my consultant once a week. I’ve also bought a 2 litre water bottle.

Taking it 1 day at a time 😊

Oh you're making me feel so excited again @PercyPea !

Such a great feeling when the clothes are loose!

Good to know your body composition scan showed mostly fat loss and not muscle. Do you exercise much?

And sorry for another question but do you have an eating window every day (is that how intermittent fasting works)?

I lost 11lb the first week, was so focussed...I'm still up 2lbs from my binge the other day so the best I can hope for at this stage is a sts Monday at this stage.

I haven't "been" in a few days so I must get some fibre in my water today and like you said really focus on getting the water in today.

Thank you so much for your reply. 5.5 weeks to your occasion...it's great to have mini goals!!! Have you been shopping for an outfit or will you leave it closer to the time so you can see what shape you'll be? Exciting...the big reveal!!!!
Xx

@Londonnight @Mintyt @Zanatdy @clpsmum @smarty4 @snowlady4

Just thought I’d ask how everyone is getting on? Would love to hear if anyone has moved up steps yet.

I’m still on 1b until near end of March. A bit scared of moving up!! I think I’ll do step 2 for a couple of weeks then and go back to 1b for the week of my holiday. I don’t want to ruin all of the progress so far by going mad on hols 🙈

Hi, February has been a slower loss month for me but I’m still going, I lost 2.6lbs in Feb and I’m now on 9.6lbs since 1st Jan. So a lot less than January where I lost 7lbs but I have hurt my leg (maybe sciatica) so can’t go to my walking group or so my regular steps so I’m burning around 500 calories less per day it’s been 2wks now and it is feeling a little better but slow progress getting better. But the fact I’m still losing is great as my deficit is only a couple of hundred a day the last 2wks so pleased with my progress. My stomach is much flatter and I’ve lost 3 inches from my bust, I’m not really in a massive rush to hit target as I know I struggle with maintenance.

Hope everyone else is doing well

PercyPea · 02/03/2024 08:13

@JoeyBK I usually eat between 10-5.

It helps me to structure the times so I don’t wobble in between…

10am original porridge
12pm fruit and nut bar
2pm choc shake and go
5pm “hot meal” (usually chilli, carbonara)

I don’t vary that much at all. I found a lovely tea I like to drink black (Yorkshire Tea “Jam & Toast”, which sounds bonkers, but is actually delicious 😂). It feels like a treat in a cup.

To answer your question on exercise… I don’t do anything, just potter about with a very occasional walk. Must focus on fitness and strength again once I’ve ditched the blubber!!

Hope your leg heals quickly @Zanatdy!! Well done on your loss. Inch loss is fabulous 👏

Sounds good...it's funny how we all have different tastes

I'm...berry porridge, spag bol, tikka, peanut bar.

I've ordered more shakes and porridge this order though to see how I get on with those...

I'll look out for that tea, sounds yum. The veg broth has been keeping me going this week 🥶

Thanks for answering my questions, you've been a great help...I keep meaning to try the chilli but forgot to order it again.

Have a great weekend.
Xx

Mintyt · 02/03/2024 08:40

Do you see a consultant or are you online, my consultant is online and I like her but she's not local and postage every two weeks is £7.00. I think I'm going to move to a more local one (

PercyPea · 02/03/2024 09:09

Hi @Mintyt I see a local consultant. It’s nice to have the appointment for weigh in. Same scales each week, no excuses 😂

Also, her office is like a supermarket for my weekly product shop!!

OP posts:
JoeyBK · 02/03/2024 10:00

@Mintyt In Ireland we order through the app and just communicate with our consultant through what's app or phone call.
We send a photo of us on the scale every weigh day.
Sounds good to meet consultant every week...and also save on delivery!

Sunshineandrainbow · 03/03/2024 22:25

Wow I didn't realise the diet included meals.
When I did it I just had shakes and bars.

At 18 stone I desperately need to do something but so scared of failure.

Mintyt · 04/03/2024 11:12

Why would my consultant want me to buy products D2D rather than from her, this way I have to buy the products in bulk

JoeyBK · 04/03/2024 16:06

@Mintyt I have to order d2d...it is a pain and so expensive (well, just feels expensive when I'm paying nearly €300 all at once).

Your consultant may prefer it that way so she doesn't have a load of product taking up space at her house? Not sure to be honest.

I've not stuck to plan this week and up 2lbs. Raging. Have a hen night next weekend so I'm getting really behind with my goal now. So mad with myself. I really don't want to fall off the wagon...I've 4 stone to lose but if I could lose 3 by end of May that would do!

Anyone else got a Monday weigh day?
Xx

JoeyBK · 04/03/2024 16:10

@Sunshineandrainbow I find the meals quite nice...portions are small but you get used to it after the first week.

Look, don't be scared if failure...we all only try our best. I think it's important to not let the slip ups define us but how we just carry on after.

It's tough for sure, but it's quick if you can stick with it!
Xx
Also...there are different steps...you could do 2/3 products (can't remember) and a meal if around 20 cals if you think 3/4 products a day wouldn't suit you/too daunting.

Xx

PriOn1 · 12/03/2024 23:23

I’m looking at this. Has anyone started it and incorporated holidays? I have a holiday booked in May and wonder how it would work.

PercyPea · 16/03/2024 18:23

Day 73. Time has flown by.

SW 14st 1lb
CW 11st 9lb
Lost 34lbs 👏

Nearly 11 weeks done. Still doing intermittent fasting too (eating between 10-5). Once I’ve finished 12 weeks on 1b, I’m planning to move up to step 2 for a couple of weeks, then back on 1b when we go on holiday for a week.

@PriOn1 I know for me it will be easier to stick to plan totally, rather than try to improvise on holiday. I just drink copious amounts of sparkling water whilst everyone else eats. Get some strange looks from waiters etc 😂

@Mintyt I think the consultants doing D2D probably don’t have space or finances maybe to stock up on multiples of every product. My lady has massive Ilea wardrobes packed full. It must be quite stressful making sure she’s got the right things in stock and also doesn’t go over the best before dates.

@JoeyBK keep going!! I think 3 stone by end May sounds achievable. Over the past 2.5 months I’ve had 2 weeks of plateau, which were really upsetting after sticking to it 100%, but then there are other weeks of “whooshs”. Seems to even out at 1 stone a month. Good luck!!

Hi @Sunshineandrainbow, so many products to choose from. It’s been great to mix up the products every day. Obsessed with the fruit and nut bar and choc shake, but also really love having a porridge to start the day and a pasta dinner x

OP posts:
JoeyBK · 16/03/2024 20:17

Oh well done @PercyPea you are doing great! Holidays are a great motivation. I got to 11 stone for my holls last year and wore a bikini for the first time in around 20 years!! It felt amazing... Unfortunately since then I've slowly been putting it back on.

I really could have lost 3 stone by May but not now. I just keep maintaining because I can't just keep to it. I started at 14.11 and I'm 14.2 now after a month.

It's so frustrating. I know this diet works, I want to lose the weight but I still end up giving in.

Ah well, begin again I guess!!

Well done again @PercyPea especially when you had two weeks of staying the same...that's great dedication and you'll be in the body you want to be so soon!!

I love the porridge too!!!

Xx

Kbear90 · 13/04/2024 17:56

Hi,

I started tues this week, step 1b too, hows it going for you? X

PercyPea · 14/04/2024 17:49

@Kbear90 Welcome!! I love this diet. I did 12 weeks of 1b, 2 weeks of step 2 and this week I’ve been back on 1b as we’re on holiday. I’ve been eating my products and drinking lots of water whilst DH/DC eat all of the delicious food 😂

I’ve got my next weigh in on Tuesday. Will be interested to see progress. Back to step 2 on Wednesday. I think I’ll be on plan till end May.

How have you found it so far?

OP posts:
Kbear90 · 14/04/2024 22:27

Hey @PercyPea wow 12 weeks on plan 1b is amazing to start with congrats, hope your weigh in goes well for you on tues and it sounds as though your doing great 😊 I'm finishing day 6 with my weigh in tues too.
Week 1 is a strange week for me. I've felt a mix of emotions from pleased to complete a days plan and getting the water intake in to fogginess and a serious dry mouth at times (despite the water!). Baby steps for me atm, today's been on plan like the rest of my days but each day feels hard atm. Just need to stay focused on where I see myself going. It's been easy to stick to the plan though just a battle mentally iyswim

PercyPea · 15/04/2024 10:54

@Kbear90 I’ve found mini goals a really good way to stay on track. So by x date, I’ll hopefully be wearing x… or after x weeks, I’ve got this particular even to look forward to 😊

Holiday has been amazing after loosing about 38lbs 🥰 We’re in the same resort we came to this week last year and I remember being really unhappy with how I looked then!!

Next big event for me is 4th May and I really hope to be in the 10 stone category by then 🙏

Do you have something you’re working towards?

OP posts:
Kbear90 · 15/04/2024 11:14

@PercyPea 100% swearing by mini goals atm it's honestly the only way isn't it

My goal for week one is stay 100% on plan 1b, and reach ketosis which I've ordered test strips on amazon, should come today so I'll test tomo on weigh day.

Wow you achieved so much and knowing there's someone out there at a goal I'd love to be at makes it feel reach. Huge congrats and so pleased you feel great, mentally the shift must be incredible. Hope your holiday was everything you hoped for and more with family.

My story is I'm the heaviest I've ever been
I'm 33f (34 soon 2nd May) thats my goal date to see what I can achieve by then (highly doubt a cheat day will be in the vocab as will have worked to hard by that point to even consider this)
I have 2 children 8&6
I'm 5ft exactly so short and can't hold the weight
SW 12st 3.5lbs
I'll post a CW tomorrow on first weigh day 😊
I wear a size 16 mainly some 14s depending on sizing. When I got married in 2019 I was between 10st-10.5st
My goal weight would by 9-9.5st (please bear in mind my height and these figures may sound low but BMI wise etc I apparently could be between 7st to 9st to be "healthy") my bmi at 10st still puts me in the overweight category on the NHS website BOO 👎 HOWEVER I'm curvy wearing a 36G so I know this isn't what i need to focus on and being happy is what counts so slimming the apron belly after babies and boosting my confidence is what I'm doing it for

I'm working towards the 30day mark and this is the goal, see what can be achieved and the hit the go on the next 30! 🙌

38lbs blows my mine congrats! Would love to be a size 10 last time that was a thing for me was 6th form. But it's possible with dedication and the 1:1 / supportive people xx

Kbear90 · 15/04/2024 11:22

Just realised my msg may be confusing when I mentioned the 10st part.
What I mean is I weighed in at
12st 3.5lbs on Tues 9th April 2024

First weigh in is tomorrow as on day 7 today, im following step 1b (4 products) on the The 1:1 diet

I just meant that even at 10st I'd still technically be overweight on the NHS bmi calculator with my height at 5ft 🥴

But focusing on each day right now, the individual pieces will make the puzzle 🤞

Moonsapien · 17/04/2024 22:12

I’ve just signed up for Cambridge. I’ve done it before about 5 years ago. I kept the weight off for a few years but it’s crept back on over the last 2 years. I’ve tried other diets recently but I know this works for me, I enjoy the freedom of not having to think about food. There’s no ‘one square of chocolate won’t hurt’ (which turns into a whole 100g bar). I have a reunion in 6 weeks, I’m hoping to have lost at least one stone by then.

Kbear90 · 20/04/2024 20:08

@Moonsapien hi 👋 have you got your products now and started? Hope you reach your goal, it would be a great boost before the reunion, check in here, be great to hear how it's going

Moonsapien · 20/04/2024 20:40

Yes I’m on Day 2. I could eat a scabby horse. The family had garlic bread for dinner. It smelled so good. But I abstained! I am telling myself that even if I only manage a week of 3 products and 1 200 cal meal, that would be a good start.

Kbear90 · 21/04/2024 08:01

@Moonsapien so hard seeing people around you eat the good stuff right, I think the discipline part it the hardest with this diet. You can do it though, you have before and can now too 😊
