Regular MFP users?

RoadRunner123 · 02/01/2015 14:54

Are there any regular committed MFP users around who would be my friend?!

I did MFP in 2011 and lost around 25lbs, I did couch to 5k and then did a 10K race. I felt good, fit, healthy and slim.

But, gradually, slowly, I have gone back to my old ways and now four years later, I am back up to a weight I'm not happy with and no longer run. I want to turn this back around, get back to my healthy weight and start running again.

I've got about 8 MFP friends but none of them use it regularly and I could do with some encouragement and pressure to keep at it!

I don't really want to post my username though as my profile on there has my photo and area I live and I like MN to be anonymous, so if anyone could message me or post user names, I will send a request.

Initial excuses though....it may take me a few days to get into it properly so I can do a healthy shop and get 'rid' (ie eat) of a few more Christmas chocolates!

Thank you!

I'm in a town by the sussex coast, I could do a run along the seafront but I'm just a bit spooked about it! Silly really. I work full time unfortunately, so at the moment it is dark when I get home and I leave at 7.30 in the morning so I don't think I could fit one in before work. I am not a morning person, haha! I pick the children up from the childminder then it's dinner and bedtime. When it's lighter it will be easier. I think I will just do it, loads of people do I suppose so the odds of something bad happening are slim! I will def. invest in some high via stuff. Better safe than sorry!

Happy to be added: IzzieBiz81. Lost just over two stone between July and Nov and then plateaued since then. Back on it now though. Love having a nosey a people's food diaries for inspiration!

Hi ladies! I'm back on mfp as of today after using it in the run up to my wedding in October 2013! It all went out of the window when I found out I was pregnant with our first DC in March and I'm now 6 weeks postnatal and looking to shift some of the baby weight and get back to my normal self! It'll probably be a slow start but I'm hoping to get back down to my pre-pregnancy 8st from 9st 10lb now and getting back into my running with the aim of entering Birmingham half marathon in October! Username is Amyrose1982so feel free to add me!

TwigletLola · 05/01/2015 10:30

I'm back on MFP this morning too, currently about 12 stone and want to get down to at least 11 stone. I'm going to start C25K again and am signing up for a 5K in October which gives me plenty of time to train. Also want to start ParkRun but I don't want to be the slowest one there! Feel free to add me: hbandtr4eva

Hi I'm HappyKite on MFP and always happy to have new friends.
and old friends.
My stats are very similar to yours roadrunner

WiseKneeHair · 05/01/2015 17:26

So, I've been through the thread and made some friend requests on MFP.
I lost almost 2 stone on there in 2013 and then put it all back on. I've been back again since Oct 2014 and just lost my first stone this morning Grin
I want to lose another 1.5 - 2.5 stone.
I have done C25K twice and can't recommend it enough.
I try and log every day and be encouraging of others. I'm not afraid to kick ass if need be though, and definitely happy for a kick back when I need it.

Tiredemma · 05/01/2015 17:29

I'm on there- did really well last year and lost 17lbs but struggling at the moment. Plan to hit it hard again from tomorrow. I'm wattsywoo on mfp- please add me!
Also starting running again- going to do the 1000mile challenge (run 1000 miles in 2015)

TheImprobableGirl · 05/01/2015 17:48

I might try couch to 5 k too, seems a lot of you are reccommending it!! I have some.trainers but no willpower, will that be enough?? ;) my fitness pal says I can have 1300 cals a day. I am starving running aftrr two kids all day (littlest just started crawling)
Can I be nosy and ask how many it gave you?? I am 5"1 and 13st :( but not for long!!!!

TheImprobableGirl · 05/01/2015 17:49

Obviously I will still be 5"1, I meant not 13st Wink just off to add lots of lovely new friends!!

Orangeisthenewbanana · 05/01/2015 17:54

I'm surfybridge if anyone would like to add me. Started properly again today and my Dh has joined too. Have found it really useful in the past, so fingers crossed for this time round!

Orangeisthenewbanana · 05/01/2015 18:02

I get 1560 calories a day Improbablegirl. I like the fact that you can effectively buy more calorie allowance with exercise, though I still aim to come in below target every day

TheImprobableGirl · 05/01/2015 18:04

Am currently jogging. Didn't realise everyone was goin to be able to see my diet!! This will definitely.keep me on the straight an narrow :)

busyboysmum · 05/01/2015 18:14

I'm busyboysmum3 on MFP and would love to have some friends on there. I've not really got to grips with it but want to lose a stone if possible.

ROARmeow · 05/01/2015 18:23

My MFP user name is ThisLastingClarity. Happy to have new friends on there, please add me!

Have been doing it for 10 days and lost 2kg already (think that's around 4lb).

RoadRunner123 · 05/01/2015 18:56

TheImprobableGirl - to be absolutely honest, you'll probably need a bit of willpower to get through the C25K. I can recommend the 'Get Running' app. The woman that does the encouragement on there is very nice and keeps you going...it's good. MFP has always given me 1200 cals. At my heaviest I think I was getting on for 12 stone and I'm 5"3.

I do try and exercise and I eat my exercise calories (although sometimes I save them up so I can have a bit more to eat at the weekend).

I'm losing track a bit of who I have sent requests to as there are different names here and there!

OP posts:
TheImprobableGirl · 05/01/2015 21:12

Well I've done 20 mins of jogging today... That is a 20 min improvement on any other part of my life :)

Need to burn another 700 odd calories to justify my massive tea!!

Mrsmorton · 05/01/2015 21:23

I've made some requests, hoping to maintain anonymity though!!

Thisvehicleisreversing · 06/01/2015 01:02

I'm lozC80 on MFP and could do with some friends too.

I lost 1st 3lb before Xmas but put 5lb back on like a dick. Angry

Got to get back to it.

Ellisisland · 06/01/2015 09:09

I'm herethereeverywhere on mfp if anyone wants to add me. I used it a few years ago to loose baby weight and now after another baby need to use it again!
I have about a stone to lose Confused

hillyhilly · 06/01/2015 11:40

I've just gone back to it, cant believe how little food 1200 cals gets me!!!
I'm hillyhilly

FruitBasedDrinkForALady · 06/01/2015 13:25

Hillyhilly, it's amazing how you get used to the 1200 cals a day though - I've been at that for nearly 18 months now and I found I felt really awful over Christmas when I ate a lot more. That said, DH's allowance is 2000 (he's a giant!) so for the last few days I've felt very sorry for myself when he still has 800 cals to kill after dinner Envy

farmerslife · 06/01/2015 13:59

Hi

I am back on MFP after previous success, I need to lose 6 stone ! Or be a size 14 which ever is first ! I am a size 20 now.

Anyway I thought I would give exercise a go as well so have purchased and completed day one of 30 day shred the beginner DVD but not sure what this equates to on MFP, any ideas ?

Ellisisland · 06/01/2015 14:41

Hilly - I know what you mean about the calories. I started having oats and a banana for breakfast thinking it would be better for me than my usual both of sugary cereal but it still comes to over 300 calories ! I have switched to almond milk instead of dairy though as that's less calories

Definitely makes me think about portion control. Have started exercising again today. Didn't do much just half hour of pilates but it's a start !
