I need to lose a couple of stone and though t if I start now I might have lost half a stone by Christmas - in time for Christmas parties and stuff. I lost three Stone in the last couple of years but have put one back on moving in with dp and getting too comfortable! Basically I'm intending to do myfitnesspal and the shred dvd along with trying to walk more. It worked for me before! So if anyone else is planning to start or have started then how about a moral support thread? :) I'm starting at 12.5 stone and a dress size 14... Would like to get to 10 stone and a size 10-12.

Hope everyone is doing well. I have registered with mfp and have stuck to my calories (am bf so making sure 10 week old DS2 doesn't suffer). If anything I've just cut the crap snacks out and upped the salad.

Exercise has so far been rubbish as DS1 has been poorly and clingy so I haven't got there yet. He's due in nursery tomorrow so fingers crossed I can shred then!

Saving a low fat hot chocolate in the evening helps with my chocolate cravings although sitting here watching masterchef is making me hungry!

saintmerryweather · 14/11/2013 22:40

its half 10...oh god im so hungry i could murder a biscuit or 8

carlywurly · 15/11/2013 18:02

Hi everyone, happy Friday! A weird thing has happened. On Monday I was 11 6 and today I am 11 3. I'm very chuffed but a tad mystified.
It is the week post af so I'm wondering if it's losing retained water or something. I'm now aiming for under 11 stone by our Xmas do - 4 weeks to go Smile
Been for a run today but now ravenous and dp wants Indian. I still have 900 cals left on Mfp so hopefully it won't do too much damage if I have a sag aloo and some plain rice. Going to try and go to the gym tomorrow to undo the damage.

JumpingJackSprat · 15/11/2013 19:23

A bit of what you fancy does you good carly! Fingers crossed I can keep the momentum going through the weekend when me and dp usually get take away. . Is Not hard to see how I put all the weight on really! !

Carly - what have you eaten today to have 900 left and enough energy for a run! Clearly I am doing it wrong.

Have gone over today by 28 calories and still feel hungry (I blame the cold). Salad just didn't cut it today!

carlywurly · 17/11/2013 17:10

Poached eggs and one slice of toast for breakfast and m&s veg sushi for lunch. I swear by that- 215 cals and amazingly filling Smile
Proud of myself today- managed to resist the amazing looking cakes in costa - it helps that they put the calorie count on the labels. Even the healthy looking things have over 400 cals each, it's depressing!

JumpingJackSprat · 17/11/2013 17:12

I agree if they didn't put calories on stuff Id be far more likely to eat it! I have managed to avoid snacking today and yesterday although did have takeaway pizza yesterday, I had less than normal so at the moment its not been too bad.

weighed in this morning and have lost 2lbs this week with no extra exercise!

GirlFromTheNorthCountry · 18/11/2013 08:36

Good job saint. I've also lost this week, 3lb. I'm chuffed.

Batbear · 18/11/2013 09:23

I'm a lb down today - would have been better if I'd not fallen head first into lunch with my in laws yesterday I suspect!

With my folks for a few days this week where my dad serves huge portions! Need to be extra careful there I think!

beckslovestimmy · 18/11/2013 13:08

I lost 2.25lb this week so that's 8.25lb in 2 weeks with MFP. Really pleased with that first time I shifted more than a couple of pound in months. Not finding it too hard. Also going to the gym 3-4 times a week to tone up ask go. Well done on everyone else's losses Grin

carlywurly · 18/11/2013 18:35

Well done everyone! Grin

JumpingJackSprat · 19/11/2013 17:50

Hi ladies

Following this thread as I am also wanting to lose weight before Christmas due to having a family wedding. At the start of the year and up to about April I was relatively happy but now my body shape has changed and I have added 6/7lbs which has made my clothes uncomfortable. I am also thinking of starting the 30 day shred to combat where my weight seems to sit (love handles) Smile

I have updates MFP and am starting to use this again.

Wallycobbles · 20/11/2013 20:53

Hi ladies, I'd like to join :-) currently 12st10. Would love to get to 10st, but 11 will be a start! I went back to work a few months ago and looking after DTDs means I'm pushed for exercise time Blush

Hoping a weekly weigh in will keep me motivated :-)

beckslovestimmy · 21/11/2013 08:30

Hi coolcat and wally! Good luck. I'm sure you'll do great Grin

carlywurly · 21/11/2013 20:33

Evening all, 11 3 at this weeks weigh in so that's 18 lbs gone now. 8 more to go to my initial target. Smile

Just done a shred work out - level 2 and my arms are aching like mad.

Welcome new people, please keep posting everyone.

Wallycobbles · 21/11/2013 22:03

Well done that's fab! Do you find your weight loss slowed with doing the shred carly as you put on muscle?

My weight loss has stayed at 1.5 lbs per week pretty consistently but my shape is really different. It's made a massive difference around my middle. I almost nearly have abs! Shock

My arms and legs have changed so I've definitely put on muscle but I think it's increased my metabolism with it. I'm really chuffed with the Mfp exercise combo. It works so well for me when nothing else seemed to. I had pretty much resigned myself to being a large 14 and now I'm back in size 12.

Keep going everyone. I find Friday evenings hard after a week at work.

beckslovestimmy · 22/11/2013 20:10

I've had a couple of bad days this week but nowhere near as bad as my pre MFP days. Went to the gym today so feeling a bit better. Weigh in day tomorrow, hoping for a 2lb loss. Grin

Wallycobbles · 22/11/2013 22:40

Might try it out next week, as I've got a dress I'd love to be able to fit in, four weeks tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow becks Smile

JumpingJackSprat · 23/11/2013 07:39

Im a bit concerned that being very good all week in not going to have lost any weight this week. .. I haven't had time for the shred bit I'm doing some exercise this morning. I'm thinking of starting pilates in an attempt to strengthen my core to help with general pressure. Is it any good for weight loss?

OP posts:
carlywurly · 23/11/2013 08:01

Pilates changed my shape rather than helped me lose. I used it after the dcs were born to sort my stomach muscles out. It's good for making you look leaner but I'd think for weight loss you probably need to combine it with a bit of cardio.

It's sunny here this morning but freezing. Do I go for a run?!
