I need to lose a couple of stone and though t if I start now I might have lost half a stone by Christmas - in time for Christmas parties and stuff. I lost three Stone in the last couple of years but have put one back on moving in with dp and getting too comfortable! Basically I'm intending to do myfitnesspal and the shred dvd along with trying to walk more. It worked for me before! So if anyone else is planning to start or have started then how about a moral support thread? :) I'm starting at 12.5 stone and a dress size 14... Would like to get to 10 stone and a size 10-12.

Hi, can I join too? I was meant to start last Monday but, er, didn't. I'm 5'8" and I weigh 12st 10lb. I've put on about half a stone since the summer grrrr. I'd like to lose 1st to start off with (which would get me within the healthy BMI range) and hopefully another stone after that.

I've lost weight in the past on WW. This time I'm planning to count calories and exercise (running, gym, swimming, pilates).

JumpingJackSprat · 11/11/2013 10:23

There's loads of us now I'm hoping the weekly weigh in with all of us will keep me on track too!! I've done Ok this morning. .. ate s bit too much for breakfast but haven't had any mid morning snack. Is cutting these things out and training myself to want/need less food that I find the hardest thing. And to realise feeling hungry every now and again isn't a bad thing! !

Clam is there any upper body cardio you can do? Punches and so on? Or can you go swimming? Obviously not if youre still in plaster!

When are we having the weekly weigh-in then? On a Sunday or a Monday?

JumpingJackSprat · 11/11/2013 11:33

I'm going with Mondays but whichever day everyone wants to do individually I would have thought I'd up to them :)

Brilliant Grin It's good to have some support!

Sweetiepickers · 11/11/2013 12:37

Hi all. My morning weigh in was 12 st 7 - so sub 12 by Xmas should be achievable.
Someone mentioned 'mindless eating' - that's so me. Think I may try & plan/write down what I eat.
I'm saving the Shred for this evening. If someone with a newborn is planning to do it surely I can!

JumpingJackSprat · 11/11/2013 12:52

Sweetie have you heard of my fitnesspal? Is an app/ website where you can track your food eaten and exercise. .. much easier than keeping a food diary!! If you get under or on your calorie goal for the day it givesyou a well done message which I'm always pathetically grateful for :)

How do we add friends on MyFitnessPal, does anyone know?

saintmerryweather · 11/11/2013 13:14

i keep joinimg these threads but never stick to em. am 5"3 and 12st 5 as of this morning, i want to.lose at least a stone but really i want to.get fitter and develop some sort of a semblance of a core.

ive only had weetabix and a chicken salad so far today and am so hungry right now! im just going to.use smaller plates and be a bit more sensible, including not taking any money to work!

carlywurly · 11/11/2013 21:39

Please may I join you? Been on my fitness pal for 40 days and gone from 12 7 to 11 7 and am aiming to shift another stone to be back to a 10-12 (I'm 5ft 7)

I either shred, run or go to the gym 3 times a week and am feeling much fitter for it. This is the only way I seem to lose weight and it's not been too painful either Smile

JumpingJackSprat · 11/11/2013 21:51

wow a stone in 40 days hope I can emulate that! although as my shred dvd has gone missing, ill have to have a good look for it.

Hope everyone's done positively today, I have kept my calories under my target but didn't do any exercise which wasn't an auspicious start.

I wonder if anyone has any favourite low calorie/low fat but still filling recipes they would like to share?

Remembered to come back and log my weight. 11 stones 12 3/4 pounds.

I got down to 11 st 8 lb previously. Ah well, have to start exercising again.

readyforno2 · 11/11/2013 23:43

Can I join? Am much heavier than everyone else here.. Almost 15stone but getting married this time next year and would love to be around 10..
Am on mfp and using the wii fit, will look out the shred as I've got it somewhere. I really need a kick up the arse

beckslovestimmy · 12/11/2013 21:05

Can I join too. I'm doing my fitness Pal. Sticking to 1200 calories and exercising 3-4times a week at the gym. Mainly strength training with a bit of cardio. Lost 6lb last week. Weigh in on Saturday. Also trying to drink 2l of water a day. Would like to lose a stone as a starting point but need to lose 3-4 stone really. Come in ladies WE CAN DO IT!!!!

Sweetiepickers · 12/11/2013 23:04

Just tried to download My Fitness Pal & already seem to be a member but can't access it! Will have another go tomorrow. Been reasonable with my eating - not much in the way of exercise yet as have a bad 'sugar withdrawal' headache. Plan for tomorrow - get MFP to work, start the Shred & try drinking 2L of water like Becks. And stay off the CHOCOLATE

beckslovestimmy · 12/11/2013 23:26

Good luck sweetie!!! I find the water helps limit food cravings Smile

wfrances · 13/11/2013 11:29

help
9 boxes of christmas biscuits from m&s just arrived

carlywurly · 13/11/2013 19:02

Hi everyone, weigh in day for me and I'm down another pound to 11 6. It's slow but steady and I've lost something every week now.
My cals on Mfp are set for me to lose 1.5lbs a week and it's doing the trick.

I am a massive fan of m&s vegetarian sushi for lunch at work - 215 cals and it's so tasty and filling, keeps me going until dinner. I'm having poached eggs on wholemeal toast most mornings.

I'm really between sizes now. 12 is usually a bit snug but 14 is looking baggy. How is everyone else?

SweetSeraphim · 13/11/2013 20:51

I fully intend to have lost this week when I weigh in on Sunday. I've been quite good with the food diary and been careful with what I've eaten. I do have a small problem that always rears it's ugly head though - every time I feel emotionally unsettled in any way, I eat for comfort. I haven't done it this week so far, but it's been bloody hard as I'm not having a great week!

beckslovestimmy · 13/11/2013 21:37

Good day today, under calorie goal by 9cals. Felt stuffed after a dinner of sweet and sour chicken with special fried rice (522cals) and a pud of jelly and yoghurt (80cals). Yum yum. Off to the gym tomorrow. Here's hoping for another good day. Weigh day on Saturday. Grin

beckslovestimmy · 13/11/2013 21:38

Ooh forgot to say well done carlywurly! Grin

GirlFromTheNorthCountry · 13/11/2013 22:26

I've got a question for you all....what time of the day is the worst for you for wanting junk and anyone got any good ideas of what to do to distract yourself from cravings? I'm awful around 4pm, can happily eat healthily all day but then just want to eat rubbish-especially now the weather is getting worse. I've realised this week that I'm constantly making excuses about why I 'deserve' a treat at this time of day. Any ideas of how to stop this?

clam · 13/11/2013 22:46

Normally, I'm reasonably good all day, then rampage through the fridge when I get in from work like a shoal of piranha fish on a cow carcass.

Not this week though! Am being REALLY good, and have even given up Wine Have discovered I can do the stepper machine without aggravating my leg, and we're about to buy an exercise bike.

Will weigh in on Monday morning (first thing, stark naked, after a wee but before any juice).

beckslovestimmy · 14/11/2013 08:47

Hi girl from the north, I crave my junk in the evenings once the little one has gone to bed. We have dinner early so we can all eat together. I save enough calories from my 1200 for a milky coffee and 'a treat' this might be a fat free yoghurt, packet of quavers, small chocolate biscuit like a rocky or KitKat. I also try and fill up on water on the evenings too to help with the hunger pangs. I have a friend doing my fitness pal to and she saves 99cals a day for a mini bag of malteasers she says this helps with her chocolate cravings.

JumpingJackSprat · 14/11/2013 14:58

Ha ha clam that's how I do it too. .. how light can I possibly make myself before weigh in! ! I've had a mid week weigh and am down by 1lb but that doesn't mean much. .. need to try and only weigh myself on weigh days. I'm doing ok so far -haven't any time to exercise but I have kept more or less on my calorie goal or underit. Also am coping Ok with not snacking and having ready brek for breakfast and soup for lunch. Well done everyone keep it up :)
