E - how quickly do you manage to settle him back off to sleep - and how?

I think I am in the middle of anoth grwoth spurt - ds2 is now feeding every 3 hours again and was unsettled all day yesterday - full of wind and struggling to fill his nappy - He gor some relief at about 9pm when finally managed to do it then a little top up feed beofre conking out. I just cant settle him when he wakes in the night so as a result when he woke at 3 - he didn't goback off until 5.30 - only to wake again at 6.30 for another feed - DESPAIR AND EXHAUSTION!

comforting to know it isn't just me - I do keep it low key - but when I try to put him down he just pings awake again! I fall asleep on my side feeding and find he is asleep also but it is shortlived as he will have wind usually. Bottle feeding is tempting me again so I could share it a bit and also as I would know how much he had had! - Must be strong and stick with it!

E - I know that it counts for little when time has passed. he is actualloy awake looking for a while but then gets grizzly if he doesn't get attention or more food so I cant ignore him - have tried!
If I lie him down and hold the dummy in it seems to work eventually but takes ages before he is convincingly asleep - seem slike forever in the middle of the night!

Not too bad - up at 3.20 but settled by 4.30 then woke again at 6. Been for cranial osteopathy today for last session and she sadi his head is perfectly in line now - some spine tension but she doesn't think he'll need another session. ......WE SHALL SEE THE DIFFERENCE?????

I think he is just a gannet! (SP?)

Well.. how did you do - not so good for me - up at 3 down by 4.30 but more food required at 5.30 - he was unsettled as he hadn't filled his nappy for three days - exploded at 6am (too much info...????)

Mine has 6/7 oz as a feed at 11pm and sleeps for three/four hours. Iam getting into your routine more nowy 3 hours in the night - thankfully one of them is a bottle so I do get a break - read your othetr thread with interest - may try a cuddle at 5am also!

I've had a few probs too - not sure they are solved yet!

Hughsie · 11/05/2003 19:16

How's it going edgarcat - any improvement on sleep last night - I've resigned myself that ds2 is on a permanent growth spurt as he never sleeps longer than 3.5 hours day or night!

I suffered a blocked duct with I've cleared with help from pupuce and it is getting better - still a bit tender. My ds2 is also sleeping but in the swingy chair so I know he will wake soon - I'll feed at 7.30/8 he goes to sleep at about 9.30 - 1am then back off after a bottle about 2 but then wakes at 4/5am and I cant get him back off unless he is in with me - sometimes asleep on my chest!

Fingers crossed for a better night - my mum and dad babysat today so I could go for birthday lunch - a break from babies! - bliss
