Fio, that's no way to describe me

Moomin · 06/08/2008 14:19

just the name is enough to put me off if my dds were still young enough to need it. Yuk.

misdee · 06/08/2008 14:21

'Trouble is, legally they are NOT ALLOWED to tell you this, by adverts or any other way, as you cannot be seen to be promoting formula above breast milk.'

and quite right too!

btw saw a nuture ad last night for follow on milk.

ruddynorah · 06/08/2008 14:22

didn't some other heinz rep first time poster pop up on a similar thread banging on about how mums should be ashamed to choose cheaper brands.

misdee · 06/08/2008 14:23

yeah they did.

the poster was reported on that thread, MNHQ said to give benefit of the doubt. I've reported this thread.

PMSL though at choice of username of "thenameisbond" - not exactly a name to allay any suspicions is it!

Flibbertyjibbet · 06/08/2008 14:40

Aptimil has little boxes on their tubs with ticks in.
One tick is next to the statement 'best formula' (tick).
Errrr, so that means that its the best. Cos Aptimil says so

I hardly bought formula but thanks to mumsnet recently I seem to spend a lot of time in Boots studying the writing on the tubs of the stuff!!

Flibbertyjibbet · 06/08/2008 14:42

Wonder if Pookykittens is mynameisbond namechanged?
But thought he/she should use a more mummy/baby name this time then we might be nicer?

Big risk changing the formula my arse. Just a big price hike.

MatNanPlus · 06/08/2008 14:46

I was bought up on basic formula and it did me no harm, the most basic one now is HIPP.

Tho current mummy is mixing BF with 1 bottle of Goats Milk Formula from New Zealand.

MatNanPlus · 06/08/2008 14:50

The thing that strikes me is in reading on various sites the added ingredients are a chemical version of a natural product and how tested are they!!

Tiktok put some great links up on the earlier thread when Farleys was withdrawn and Nuture appeared.

Those links 'helped' my current employer to make a more impartial decision as to what she would give to the baby as she starts to wean from full BF, after careful reading and also the baby's reaction after having the bottle of the Best Baby Milk she found the decision easy to make.

omead · 19/08/2008 21:38

hi guys, what makes me laugh is the fact that the cheapest milk is organic!! In food cost terms this should make it at least 2x the price of regular milk? Still really pi$$ed off with Heinz, don't even buy the ketchup anymore!!

kay86 · 02/01/2009 18:58

I usually use farleys hungrier milk for my 9 month old boy but wondered whether the follow on is just as satisying cos I have switched him to it now but not going through night like he used to with hungrier and this has been going on for over a month now so he should be used to the follow on.
