not happy with them at the moment as they have upped the price from £4.80ish to £7.99

Farleys was great, no probs with it at all, but due to finances am now back to cow and gate

copingvquietly · 04/07/2008 20:19

is it really?

PLEASE say it is. Have been dithering over switching DS to follow on as he isnt eating a vast amount of solids (BLW, or should i say baby-led throwing!)

In which case, im off to buy Hipp Organic, its cheap!

copingvquietly · 04/07/2008 20:39

so hipp is the way to go then?hes 7 months so follow on or what?

OP posts:
DanJARMouse · 04/07/2008 20:41

follow-on hipp organic if you are watching the pennies!

I dont think there is anything AT ALL wrong with Nurture milk, its just the price tag that goes with it when Farleys was "committed to fair pricing" hahahahahaha

copingvquietly · 04/07/2008 20:46

bloody hell ive just compared the price of both of them
ill be giving hipp a go then

We really DO need to get this message out to a wider audience!
Heinz took over Farleys AGES ago...but have only now rebranded the packaging & put the price up a WHOPPING £3.30 PER TIN!!!!
I was paying £4.68 when it was called FARLEYS & now it's called NURTURE, they want £7.98 PER TIN I've got twins & this represents a MASSIVE increase in my weekly shopping bill - I now intend to FULLY boycott all of the HEINZ brand! Heinz will not notice just lil old me - but they shouldn't b allowed to get away with this, it's the same formula after all, only the packet is different.
Pass this info on to any one you know with a baby/babies so they can see just how GREEDY Heinz are being!!!!

I knew this was going to happen ..I started off on sma then saw farleys was cheaper so switched to that..I can't believe it is now so expensive just cos theyve changed the name..so now i've had to change again to hipp organic..I really didn't want to change his milk but what a rip off!! Anyway he just had his first bottle of hipp before bed and he loved it..actually I think it even smells nicer too..the only problem is that they don't do it in the ready made cartons

Pookykittens · 06/08/2008 13:55

They have not just changed the name. Heinz have taken a big risk by totally reformulating this milk to a far superior product than the others on the market.

Trouble is, legally they are NOT ALLOWED to tell you this, by adverts or any other way, as you cannot be seen to be promoting formula above breast milk.

It is totally uncrecognisable from the old milk, and if you want the best out there then that's what you should buy. I used Farley's when my lad was a baby, I'd use Nurture now. If money is all you are interested in, then of course you'll swap to a cheaper inferior one. Each to their own I suppose.

ruddynorah · 06/08/2008 14:00

yes love that's why the price has gone up, so you think it's far superior. the oldest trick in the book.

there are loads of threads about this. one of them is about the ingredient they've added.

ruddynorah · 06/08/2008 14:02

here's a good one

zoo123 · 06/08/2008 14:04

All the HVs and MWs I've ever known have used Aptamil on the basis that it was the best. Does anyone know anything about this.

TotalChaos · 06/08/2008 14:09

pooky - do you work for Heinz? Can't see why you are so set on marketing for them otherwise.....

TotalChaos · 06/08/2008 14:10

and what a surprise, pooky's first ever post

tiggerlovestobounce · 06/08/2008 14:13

pookykittens
They can advertise it if they want. Follow on milks are advertised. It is the first milks that arent.
If it is so much better than other formulas then I'm sure everyone will be delighted to see the evidence for that.
Can you tell us why it is so superior to other formulas?
