I fed in public today for the first time!

DD is 5 months and I fed her totally in public for teh first time, usually I use a mother and baby room or the car but today I was really brave and fed her in a crowded restaurant whilst having a meal with a friend. The children on the next day had a stare and their mother said "it's only the baby having it's lunch" and I did get a few stares from adults but I stared back as if to say "problem?" Wasn't as if I had a boob falpping about you couldn't even see any flesh. I feel kind of proud of myself now.

Same as my ds, Highlander. SO distracted. Much prefer feeding lying down in quiet dark room now. Practical!

Well done to all of you who bf in public! My ds2 is 6 months old and we feed everywhere. We recently went to Australia for 3 weeks and he suddenly started feeding extremely frequently so I lost count of the number of public places we fed. I few of my favourites were: on the floor of the baggage reclaim at the airport (thought I had picked a quite spot next to an unused carousel and then it suddenly turned on and people surrounded me!), on a boat, on a tourist train around a ginger plantation, on the beach, in countless restaurants, at a crocodile show, at a dolphin show, etc etc. In fact, I saw many people bf their babies in Oz which was nice. I too live in London and see some other bf mothers. I feed in a lot of Starbucks and similar places here and have had no problems at all. My friend and I have both fed our babies in Gymboree classes too.

I forgot to add - feeding ds2 is NOT discreet at all as he does the pull off every 2 seconds to look around thing. He is also a somewhat noisy feeder.
