Do ANY celebrities/famous people breastfeed?!

It seems to me that these svelte celebs have their baby and then their first priority is to get back into their designer gear and get to the next celeb party. I can't believe any of them are up with their babies at night themselves (surely the nanny does that) or do any breastfeeding. They never look done in enough in the photos?

What with all their stylists etc, airbrushing on photos and now babies which they don't even seem to have to look after, how are women supposed to feel supported in being REAL?

Anyone heard of anyone who did/does? For some reason I always imagine that Princess Di and Linda McCartney did but that's just guessing.

How did you manage that aloha? I have to say I thought they were implants as well but I also thought she b/f.

Bundle my DS does that too, latches his doll onto his bellybutton, it's hillarious!

Enid · 12/11/2002 22:49

aloha, I've a friend who worked on a shoot with her and you are right they are definitely implants. She's had them done twice apparently.

aloha · 12/11/2002 23:00

She was at a v glamorous fashion awards dinner at which I got v drunk and made fool of self. However, before oblivion descended, I did see her up close. She was terribly, terribly thin and nervous looking, but polite and pleasant.

tigermoth · 12/11/2002 23:23

totally sober as I am right now, I can't believe posh's breasts are natural either.

chiarasmom · 13/11/2002 02:38

Hi all - I'm sure you all in the UK are fast asleep. Thanks again for fun discussion. I miss out participating during my work day. Anyway, I just would like to say: in my opinion - never seen in person, but Posh's breasts are most obviously fake. Very similar to Demi Moore - who definitely has implants. I think she (Posh) looks horrible - emaciated, sick, and then with these weird plasticky boobs. Of course, I'm just jealous that she's so thin! Can't seem to shed the last 15 pounds!!!! Any advice? Also, no comments on Pearson's book - "I don't know how she does it"? I thought it was a bestseller in the UK before it came over here.

aloha, I see what you mean now. Suffering from fuzzy brain syndrome last night and thought you meant you had seen them naked!

aloha · 13/11/2002 09:57

Believe me, the dress she was wearing, I did see quite enough...

Lizzer · 13/11/2002 10:24

HELP! Can't post anything today, keeps saying website not responding. Just trying this to see if it goes through...

Lizzer · 13/11/2002 10:24

Why won't my other messages then??

slug · 13/11/2002 10:37

bundle, a friend of mine had a baby in Ireland and gave up breastfeeding after 10 days. She had horrible troubles and got absolutly no support. She was stunned when I told her I mixed fed, apparantly she asked the midwives about that and was told in no uncertain terms that it just was not possible. The result was she gave up breastfeeding entirely where she was prepared to give mixed feeding a try

bundle · 13/11/2002 10:49

slug, I've heard stories like that too. another friend went to visit her husband's Irish family & the women were all appalled that she was still breastfeeding at 6 mths. bizarre.

Lizzer · 13/11/2002 10:56

That's just awful Slug - she might have even only used formula for a little while to get back on track. Mixed feeding could help lots of people who would normally give up. I wonder when or if the support is going to arrive across the board, not just dependant on which county or country you live in.
Found out my mystery of the non-postings. It just won't take long message from me, short ones are fine! So I've broke down the message for my new thread into bits, which unfortunately makes it harder to read but still all my points are there...

RE posh's boobs. I've heard that she went on 'holiday' after brooklyn was born - it just so happened (would you believe it) that the place she stayed at had a fantastic cosmetic surgery place just round the corner. She came back from holiday with a bigger chest - but that means nothing really, I mean it was probably down to the delicious hotel food she ate and the 'healthy' lifestyle she chooses....

bundle · 13/11/2002 11:21

Lizzer, that sounds well-dodgy doing breast surgery so soon after birth with all the hormones all over the place. what a silly girl.

aloha · 13/11/2002 11:23

Apparently Mel B stopped breastfeeding just to have her boob job - it was one of the reasons cited by Jimmy Gulzar in their divorce. She didn't tell him she was doing it either..

Rhubarb · 13/11/2002 22:18

Well poo! Now you all know my secrets for bigger breasts! That's the last time I ever stick up for Posh - 'scuse the pun!!! Aloha - what do you do? How do you get to go to all these celeb bashes? Can you get me in to any of them?

Clarinet60 · 13/11/2002 22:36

That'll cheer you up, rhubarb! If you see robbie, give him one from me!(Whoops, was that a bit much? Only joking! :0

aloha · 13/11/2002 22:43

I used to work for a big fat glossy magazine which majored in sex - can you guess what it is yet?? But now I work from home for similar but different magazines etc and hardly get a single freebie (sob). I used to be up to my ears in free Chanel makeup, Clarins skincare, readymeals, trips to Australia, bottles of wine, cinema previews, celeb studded events - and, free shampoo and moisturiser apart, I don't really miss any of it. The lack of office politics in my living room is fabulous. There's nobody crying in my loo and I don't have to dress to impress the fashion department every day! I don't think they'd approve of my dressing gown.

aloha · 13/11/2002 22:44

Mind you, I have blagged a free haircut next week. RESULT!

Rhubarb · 13/11/2002 22:47

If I see Robbie Droile? I don't get it, am I linked to Robbie in some inexplicable way?

jasper · 14/11/2002 00:01

aloha, can I have your old job at Cosmo?

tigermoth · 14/11/2002 00:10

just the free haircut would do me!

ScummyMummy · 14/11/2002 00:19

and me! Need one badly as my face seems to be disappearing under a mass of hair atm

Ghosty · 14/11/2002 08:50

Keep going everyone ... am ROFL ...

aloha · 14/11/2002 09:30

Hmm Jasper, have you met my old editor? You might not be so keen if you had. Of course I loved my job when I was young free and single, but you'd be amazed at the amount of crying that went on.
