I thought the best thing about it was tat it's free!
But for me it was muslin cloths - so useful when winding, or just when you want a discreet moment to cover yourself with

MaeWest · 23/09/2007 18:59

DH bought me a 1kg box of fancy Hotel Chocolat chocolates when DS was born. I used to eat one after every feed as a reward in the first couple of weeks when things were hard-going (high quality chocolate is v good for milk production )

Miaou · 23/09/2007 19:03

Well I didn't buy them but a friend gave me three breastfeeding tops when she had finished with them - have never used b/f tops before and thought they were a waste of money - but I love them! They are really comfy and make me feel far more confident about feeding in public.

Cappuccino · 23/09/2007 19:04

cake

lljkk · 23/09/2007 19:05

Bravado bras.

BroccoliSpears · 23/09/2007 19:06

That half-moon cusion thing that sits around your waist. I think the purchase of that was the breakthrough that made it all manageable. Was so cross that I'd done months without it because I assumed it was yet another waste of money.

MrsBadger · 23/09/2007 19:32

hmm
tossup between Bravado bras, cake and 1.5kg of misshapes from the Cadbury factory outlet.

but then I get seasick on glider chairs and am unembarrassed about feeding in public - if anyone saw a woman feeding whilst wandering round a branch of Gap today, chances are it was me...

juuule · 23/09/2007 19:33

Breast shells. Such a relief with shredded nips. Happened every time.

AnybodyHomeMcFly · 23/09/2007 19:51

Elle Macpherson bra. Was so expensive (£32 ) that I only bought one - and then ended up wearing it every single day (with the occasional wash!) It was pretty and comfortable that it perked me up no end and made me feel more like my old self. Unlike my minging prison issue style M&S bras that I instantly consigned to being sleep bras.

maxbear · 23/09/2007 19:51

Am not embarrased about feeding in public but I don't like being cold so bf tops have been great.

terramum · 23/09/2007 21:36

LLL Membership

Ceolas · 23/09/2007 21:41

Top marks, MrsB!

Miaou, my aunt has offered some bf tops from America. I thought the same as you too, but am tempted...

determination · 23/09/2007 22:30

definately my Silverette they relieved me from so much pain and if ever i feel like im getting tender i just pop them in for a few hours and im brand new again.

yelnats · 23/09/2007 22:32

Breastpads - otherwise would constantly be drenched.

Yurtgirl · 23/09/2007 22:37

I hated my bf cushion
Ditto bf tops
Ditto breast pump
Ditto all other "breast" accessories except washable pads

But I loved my glider chair - and six years later it is still in daily use as a tv chair

Miaou · 24/09/2007 08:48

oooh take her up on it Ceolas - I find them great (particularly for preventing the chilly midriff syndrome!)

MrsJohnCusack · 24/09/2007 08:54

decent, comfortable, pretty bras
and lansinoh for the early days

vole3 · 24/09/2007 12:21

Sky+ for those feeds in the small hours

kiskidee · 24/09/2007 12:26

a new really comfy leather chair which I could sit down as long as possible which blends in nicely with our other living room furniture.

BroccoliSpears · 24/09/2007 12:45

I loved BF tops, not to hide the fact that I was BFing but because post birth I would have rather died than let anyone see my tummy. Big old saggy mess of stretch marks and flab.

FLIER · 24/09/2007 12:48

v shaped pillow-cheap one from argos
tv remote
lasinoh breast pads

andiem · 24/09/2007 13:01

cake and chocolate

ChubbyScotsBurd · 24/09/2007 14:07

Lansinoh. Hobnobs.

BellaMama · 08/03/2008 16:40

I loved the "My Breast Friend" pillow that I got second hand from Ebay! They are really expensive new, but it was sooo fabulous and made feeding so much easier that it was worth every penny of the price I paid for it and even better that I'd saved money.
Ooh, and Sky + for catching up on all that telly during the middle of the night feeds...

claireybee · 08/03/2008 16:42

Lansinoh-expensive but one tube has seen me through two babies and has lanolised a couple of wool wraps too!
