On the physio table, with a male physio, who was pretty relaxed about it for someone with no kids. We had a good chat about letdown.

On the trading floor at Goldman Sachs. Which would have been fine, except for people coming up to see - he was in a sling, so you couldn't tell he was feeding, until you came up to have a peek, and saw more than you wanted to.

While registering ds1.

all time greatest breastfeeding moments...

  1. on a pedalo, in the Verdon Gorge, south of France. Thankfully others were doing the pedalling at the time...got a bit embarassing when dd started humming with pleasure towards the end of the feed - even though our mates were used to me feeding, it just looked and sounded SO silly!

  2. in a car stuck in a snowstorm on a mountain road whilst dh disentangled the broken snowchain from the axle of the car.....felt really great about how convenient it is to breastfeed!!!

Glad to hear other people have whipped 'em out all over the place too! My wieredst has to be in a crematorium waiting room, with half a dozen undertakers looking on, offering to help! Assumed that they were just so pleased to see somebody that wasn't dead that they all wanted in! Other than that, on a flight to Spain (nightmare as was worried hostesses would take his head off with the drinks trolley!), innumerable cafes and park benches around Cardiff, golf clubs, car-parks, pub beer gardens, you name it...

Ive had no inhibitions about feeding dd anywhere. I suppose the wierdest was as we were walking round the outside of Newgrange burial mound in Ireland (just glad she didnt want to feed while we were inside, its a bit cramped in there).

Wow tarantula!! What a cool nickname
But I hate spiders!!

tarantula · 05/11/2004 14:41

But spiders are so cute I think. Weve got a tarantula at home and shes really pretty -black with long pink hairs. Maybe Im just a bit wierd

MrsDoolittle · 05/11/2004 14:52

I am sure it is beautiful. But I'm still terrified

Ameriscot2004 · 05/11/2004 15:44

I breastfed while I was having a root canal

It was better than DD grabbing the instruments.

Where haven't I fed my youngest?

  • On several airplanes.
  • Many, many restaraunts.
  • Done the leaning over the car seat thing.
  • At a Republican fund raiser while George W Bush was speaking. (The surprising part about that was not that I was feeding her, but that I was at a Republican fundraiser.)
  • In the recovery room at the hospital after my then 3 year old was recovering from surgery.
  • At the one year anniversary ceremony at Ground Zero.
  • At her own Christening.

Basically anywhere I went for the first year of her life I ended up feeding her there.
