When your af returned while bfing, did the cycle go straight back to normal, or was it irregular for a bit and then settle down? TIA

Sigh. The pt was one left over from ds (BOGOF offer!), and it expired in January. I did it anyway: BFN, but no line in the test window. D'oh! How reliable is a BFN if the test window doesn't work? I don't really trust BFNs anyway as ds was a BFN first time (I did 3, just to be sure lol!). So now I think I should buy a new test. I know I ought really to wait for a few days/a week before I retest, but I really want to do another one NOW!!! Idiot! Oh well, at least dh took the news well, he was really happy and kept saying "supersperm!" Wink

KristinaM · 27/04/2006 09:39

I'm not an expert on preg tests but I think if the test doesnt work its duff

LOL at your DH, mine was just the same. Even though he was the one who didnt want another baby. honestly men are such kids, they want to believe they are such studs!!!!! And they have such a big part in the whole thing..... Grin

2Happy · 27/04/2006 09:42

Quite, I thought perhaps that if I can ovulate only once since conceiving ds and get pg it was more my super eggs than his super sperm!! Grin

OP posts:
KristinaM · 27/04/2006 11:10

Absolutely!!!This is an egg you have been carefully cherishing since before you were born. He just made some sperm on the spur of the moment the day before Grin

At least you remember the day in question. I am still convinced i was asleep at the time as i have no recollection of it Blush...well you know how it is when you have an 8 month old....

LeahE · 27/04/2006 11:49

If you don't get the test line then the whole thing hasn't worked and the BFN doesn't count. So it's off to the shops for you...

2Happy · 27/04/2006 18:19

Well I have decided that I'm probably blowing this out of all proportion (how unlike me...) and have banned myself from any further testing until after the weekend. And since it's a bank holiday, that means tuesday. So now I'll sit and obsess for the next 4 days Grin But if no af, then I will definitely re-test then!

OP posts:
spinach · 27/04/2006 18:22

bet you crack before then!

KristinaM · 27/04/2006 19:23

2 happy - but if you ARE pregnant then you need to start taking your folic acid

suzi2 · 27/04/2006 20:31

Take a test now... I'm itching to know Grin

I've only had one AF, a couple of weeks ago so I can't help you with what happens next! But I did have a phantom AF (all the symptoms but no bleeding) exactly 28 days earlier. So perhaps I'm looking at a 2 day cycle. I used to have a 25 day cycle.

Also, judging by 'happenings down below' Grin I've ovulated later about day 16 so perhaps that will throw things out.

suzi2 · 27/04/2006 20:32

28 day not 2 day!

2Happy · 27/04/2006 22:10

2 day, OMG!! Grin
I never even thought about the folic acid Blush.
Today I had convinced myself I'm really not, and it's just af being irregular, but then I felt all disappointed! Pillock. If I test again and it's negative (and it works!) I'll be disappointed...this way I get to stretch the excitement out! And last time I got a BFN - with ds - I commiserated with a G&T or two and it was wrong!! I'd sort of rather wait and get an accurate result - I was searching past messages and kept finding people with late af's feeling preggers and just being late.

(but you're right, I'm sure I'll fold and test before tuesday!! Anyone know Boots opening hours over the bank holiday.....)

I thought I was pregnant - and told my husband not to worry when we ran out of condoms because I was either already pregnant - or coming on tomorrow. Well that one off was when I actually got pregnant - I work a very regular 28 days - it was day 42!!![blush} Now the happy mother of 4 but i have to say it took a bit of getting used to. Smile

PinkTulips · 27/04/2006 23:00

also got pregnant while bf-ing, after no af and not very much bd that i recall. spent 2 months telling myself i was being ridiculous before i decided hanging over the toilet bowl at 3am that possibly i should give in and do a test. 25 weeks now Smile

good luck, better to have them close together, at least thats what i'm repeating like a mantra to myself and anyone who'll listen!Wink

2Happy · 28/04/2006 10:13

Another day, and still no af!
I'm going to go to the chemist and buy another test, but also some folic acid so that even if the test is negative I'll take the pills until either af arrives or I do another pt!
I'll keep you posted! Grin

oh 2 happy thsi is so exciting! Do keep us posted!

Pink tulips - you sound just like me. It was actually my DH who said he thought I was pregnant. At 8.30pm one saturday night. i knew it was impossible, but just to prove him wrong I popped out to all night chemists. Just so I coudl feel free to have a drink that weekend. I got a very faint line but thought it was just the Bf hormones....any excuse.... you knwo .....denial!!!

Baby is now 4 montsh old and his brother is nearly 2. And he is teh most wonderful "surprise" in the world Smile Smile( can you tell I'm still in the totally besotted phase??? )

2Happy · 28/04/2006 14:12

Ok. Well I did a first response and this time it was definitely a BFN. So I'm going to take the folic acid and just wait and see, and test again if there's still no sign of af next week sometime.

Meantime, dh and I were wondering about what signs of pregnancy I'd get. I mean I have a 10mo old so I'm pretty tired anyway, which was the first thing I got with ds. But the next thing to show signs of pregnancy was my boobs. What I'm wondering is what'd happen to them if I'm pregnant and bf. I mean, they're quite a bit bigger than normal, and bigger than they were during pregnancy. Would they grow any more at all, or get fuller, or more sensitive?

OP posts:
spinach · 28/04/2006 20:54

i bet you wouldnt see much difference boob wise as you're still bf. Generally boobs dont change much in 2nd, 3rd etc pregnancies since your body has already undergone the major changes first time round..... I looked it up as i was expecting this to be the firat sign for me too this time.... but it wasnt, boobs didnt start changing till week 6/7.

Keep us posted, hope you're okay.

KristinaM · 28/04/2006 21:09

2happy - how do you feel about the BFN? relieved or disappointed? I was very shocked and completely incredulous when I got my BFP under the same circumstances. Kept saying " But I cant be!!!!"

I was still bf DS1 and got no pregnancy symptoms in my breasts until I was about 6 months, when they started to get very sore on feeding. Fortunately Ds decided to self wean about then too - guess he didnt like teh change of taste of teh milk.

But I guess it will be like all the other signs of pregnancy - completely individual!!

2Happy · 29/04/2006 09:09

Having had a bit of time to get used to the idea of maybe being pregnant, I was a bit disappointed by the BFN I must admit! Still no af though, so I'll just have to keep waiting!

OP posts:
spinach · 30/04/2006 20:35

are you still resisting taking another test?

2Happy · 30/04/2006 20:38

So far, Spinach! Still no af though...

OP posts:
KristinaM · 01/05/2006 08:58

2Happy · 01/05/2006 09:18

Still no af!.....
When should I test again??

OP posts:
spinach · 01/05/2006 17:16
