Hi everyone, cannot believe we have exchanged over 5000 messages!

mrsn when we shared our locations on here a while back, heff, goat and I all turned out to live near Uxbridge so we met up having met on here. It is lovely, if you are ever down south let us know!

macaroons sounds like we are in the same boat Hmm I officially return to work on 15 Feb but that is actually the Friday before half term so only have that day and then another week off before full time return hits. I am lucky that DH is being a SAHD til 1st July so no drop offs, pick ups or worries about the childminder ringing me because babyfunch is ill etc, and she is in great hands with him, much as I have been critical of him til we talked it over recently. However I am worried about being at work on no sleep - I will get in a lot of trouble if I lose my rag with a pupil or indeed a member of my team (one of whom is a pain). I will have to perfect the art of letting some things go (eg uniform issues in the corridor as opposed to in my lessons - I spend a lot of time arguing with pupils about these and intend to stop save for the very worst!) and dealing with others by just reporting bad behaviour to heads of year rather than dealing with it myself. I am head of faculty so will focus just on what happens in lessons in my faculty rather than working quite so hard on having the best corridor behaviour in the school in my area - it is great having that but takes a lot of time, energy and conflict so it will just have to go n the back burner until I am getting proper sleep again. At this rate dd will be in year 7 by then herself and can help me!

Happy half birthday kid Grin

Loup23 · 19/01/2013 19:22

Evening all, baby loup is down and I've come back to the bedroom to try and catch up on the thread - sure there'll be plenty of time to catch up tonight Wink

Thanks for the welcome back ladies, love this thread as feel like everyone's babies are beautifully sleeping 7 hour stints or even 12 Envy in RL, please let them be exaggerating.....

funch I'll let you know I find some remedy to the constant waking. We did co sleep for first 12 weeks and we have the odd nights now when it's just too much to get in and out of bed, se problem though baby loup sucks and sucks gets to full and wakes hen he falls off the boob and is then off her morning feed Confused hence I'm now starting bottles to try and get some routine. But with that brings further problem of wind....

amey and small baby loup takes her bottles well in the day but has just fallen asleep with only 3oz taken.... I'm sure she can't manage 5 lots of 6 oz in any event but now expecting her to wake again soon due to hunger.... amey sorry to hear you're teary at the moment, hope you get a good (relatively speaking) nights sleep

Happy 6 month bday to baby kid Hopi to hear of good sleeping as a result!

Sorry to hear of teething and clingy babies stitch and susie hope babies feel better soon and calpol works some miracles...

Hope susie and funch are enjoying books right now. I'm off to cook supper for DSC and hopefully get an early night although also want to do a dream feed at 11 which makes no difference to baby Loups sleeping and makes me wonder what's the bloody point

Spreading lots o baby dust although silver lining is I can catch up on tho thread if baby loup does the usual.... X

ChilliBanana · 19/01/2013 19:24

So we've been giving baby chilli some formula - not very often, I just wanted to be sure he'd take it so he's only had it a few time. Last time his face got all blotchy for about half an hour afterwards, but he wasn't bothered and it went away so I assumed I'd maybe had it a wee bit too hot for him. Gave him some more today and it was worse, and this time he was rubbing his face and whimpering a bit. I asked Dr google and I'm now thinking he's got a milk allergy. He's got some of the symptoms for breast fed babies - a stuffy nose which he's had for 6 weeks, and he's started to get stomach cramps again like he did when he was colicky. I've been drinking loads of milk lately so I feel quite bad about it, poor baby. We'll be off to the doctors next week to confirm whether it is or not and to see what our options are re formula.
Poor goat, is your top salvageable or will you be rocking the orange splatter look?

MrsNPattz · 19/01/2013 20:09

Happy half birthday kid!

amey you probably feel spaced out cause of the tablets - how are you feeling sickness wise?

Poor baby loo susie - hope you aren't in for a bad night.

We have had a pretty boring day, and probably more of the same tomorrow! Im tired after being up at 6 so have been a bit grumpy. Hope tonight is a good one - little man is certainly shattered!

Ameybee · 19/01/2013 20:30

Weird isn't it small! Exactly same amounts here! In night he will take 7oz and sometimes would take more! In day its 3-4! We worked out yesterday between 6pm and 6am he'd had 21oz over 3 bottlesBlush!

Nausea is a bit better thanks mrsn, hoping from here on in things get a bit better now.

Given up with the ssh patting today as ill break my back leaning over a travel cot, start again tomorrow!

Sleepy dust everyone! Xx

Loup23 · 19/01/2013 20:35

chilli that's interesting re formula and red spots, I'd forgotten that baby loup got red spots when I first gave her formula (just the odd one) but she doesn't seem to get them anymore..... Will keep an eye on it though, hope baby chili doesn't have an allergy

Ameybee · 19/01/2013 20:52

Repeated travel cot transfer fails :( pissed off now.

Ameybee · 19/01/2013 21:20

Starting to wish I had trusted my instincts and we'd gone home tonight (not that I don't want to stay at mums) but he's being a nightmare. :(

Loup23 · 19/01/2013 22:03

Good luck amey hope he's gone down by now. Hmm

Baby Loup has been soundly asleep since 7 (first hurdle of waking 1 hour in is out the way) now wondering do I try and dream feed in the next hour or let her wake Hmm will it make the blind bit of difference?! Hope everyone is sleeping soundly x

Susieloo · 19/01/2013 23:13

loup dream feeding didn't make any difference to us, he would still wake between 1-2 anyway so I have up in the end!

Babyloo's temperature has gone back up to over 40 so I've given him some more calpol but most of it ended up coming straight back out again, he's asleep in me which we've more or less stopped doing now and it's not helping how warm he is, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he woke up with a whole mouth full of teeth tomorrow.

amey hope you have a transfer success soon, its heartbreaking when they won't settle.

Susieloo · 20/01/2013 00:29

Up again an hour later....

BrainGoneAwol · 20/01/2013 00:42

Happy half birthday kid

amey hope you've had more success. It's so hard when you're torn between two things. Don't be hard on yourself - it's tempting with hindsight.

susie I hope babyloo has settled. Babybrain is cutting his first and was screaming in pain before bed. It's so hard not being able to take the pain away completely.

On second feed here. Aberration of good night the other night has turned back into fairly rubbish ones Sad

DP is pushing to put babybrain to bed earlier - 6.30 instead of 8pm. I'm worried this is going to make him wake even earlier in the morning and mean even less sleep for me... Hmm What time do those of you with dc at 5 months put them to bed?

Loup23 · 20/01/2013 00:43

Thanks susie I decided not to dream feed and then baby loup went and woke anyway so I got 5oz in to her and crawled into bed and..... Here we are again 2 hours later Angry she's currently on the boob and I have a feeling we'll be back here again soon.....

I hope babysusie has settled and to has gone down, poor thing Sad

Hope everyone else is sleeping away Envy

Loup23 · 20/01/2013 00:48

Hi brain sorry to hear about DSs tooth, hope you can settle him. Baby Loup is 4 and a half months and goes down between 630-730, doesn't make much difference re waking time the next day, she's a law into herself....!

Susieloo · 20/01/2013 00:57

brain babyloo's bedtime is usually between 6-7 as in he will be asleep by then, on an average night he is in the bath at 6 and asleep by 6.45-his bedtime got earlier and earlier when his nap times in the day reduced to about an hour thirty and that's on a good day. If he is overtired then bed time starts at five thirty.

Susieloo · 20/01/2013 01:39

Still awake......

StitchAteMySleep · 20/01/2013 01:51

Hello everyone stitch just had second feed after going to bed at 10pm finally. Changing naps from two to one is messing with her bedtime. Not slept here yet as neighbours were playing loud music, then dd1 woke with a night terror and then stitch woke to feed. Now DH is snoring and I can't sleep Angry

Brain stitch goes to bed at 8pm usually and always has, that way I can give both kids dinner and bath together and stitch will fall asleep through dd1's storytime. Also means that dh gets to see her as he doesn't get home from work until 7pm.

Susie sorry to hear you are still up too, hope the sleepy fairy comes your way soon.

Amey I hate staying away from home, went to my mums for abreak for 4 nights and stitch slept less than at home so I was shattered when I got back. Hope you eventually got him settled.

larlemucker · 20/01/2013 01:54

Still awake, baby larle been a pain tonight. Dh been on works do so can't co sleep as he has had too much to drink. Looks like I'm going to be awake all night as too uncomfortable to sleep but daren't move baby larle in case the screaming starts again and dh snoring louder than ever next to me :(
Sorry about the rant.
Hope you're all having a better night than me!

Ameybee · 20/01/2013 02:01

Thanks ladies.

Larle - I'd chuck DH on sofa so you can co-sleep! That's what I do with mine if he's had a drunk! Grin

Poor baby lou and his teeth Confused how many does he have already susie?

DS finally settled after another 5oz! So the little monkey has drunk more at night than in the day!

Having more now! Please sleep! X

MrsNPattz · 20/01/2013 02:04

First feed here, and a mouth full of blood and clots for me again Blush it started bleeding yesterday too - I think one if the gums has come away from the tooth when she cleaned Angry

Sorry about all of the bad nights, hope you are all sleeping soundly!

brain a bed time, what's that?? Lol

funchum8am · 20/01/2013 02:11

First feed here since bedtime which is around 6:30 here. I have managed to settle babyfunch a few times with dummy and shh pat which is a first. She woke up quickly each time so decided she was probably truly hungry so hoping if I can settle her after transfer she might actually stay asleep.

so sorry to hear of all the other crap nights being experienced out there Sad

chilli I hope DS is ok and it is not a dairy issue as that would be a pain for you!

loup you really do have babyfunch's soulmate there, it sounds exactly the same!

Happy half birthday Kid! Can't believe he's onto solids already!!

mean that dentist has messed up big time, is there another dentist at the practice you can see to get a second opinion? huge sympathy!

OP posts:
Ameybee · 20/01/2013 02:14

Huge poo now Confused and wide awake! Argh its 2am! Sleep please child! X

BrainGoneAwol · 20/01/2013 03:06

Thanks for the replies...guess it's another of those 'it depends on the baby'

mrsn ha. Yes quite.
Hope your gum/teeth recover. Seeing another dentist in the practice sounds like a good suggestion.

Third wake already here Sad. Sometimes it is soooo hard to drag yourself out of bed yet again... Think it's teeth though as babybrain is treading a very fine line between feeding and chewing on me. Not enough to warrant telling him off, but enough to put me on alert in case it suddenly turns into a bite! Shock

larlemucker · 20/01/2013 04:48

Still no sleep here, kicked dh out of bed but baby larle just keeps waking up. Not slept at all, everytime I drop off baby larle wakes up.
Have had to get dh out of bed to take him before I lose the plot.
Mrsn I'm sure all that blood can't be normal, agree that you should get a second opinion
