Hi everyone, cannot believe we have exchanged over 5000 messages!

mrsn when we shared our locations on here a while back, heff, goat and I all turned out to live near Uxbridge so we met up having met on here. It is lovely, if you are ever down south let us know!

macaroons sounds like we are in the same boat Hmm I officially return to work on 15 Feb but that is actually the Friday before half term so only have that day and then another week off before full time return hits. I am lucky that DH is being a SAHD til 1st July so no drop offs, pick ups or worries about the childminder ringing me because babyfunch is ill etc, and she is in great hands with him, much as I have been critical of him til we talked it over recently. However I am worried about being at work on no sleep - I will get in a lot of trouble if I lose my rag with a pupil or indeed a member of my team (one of whom is a pain). I will have to perfect the art of letting some things go (eg uniform issues in the corridor as opposed to in my lessons - I spend a lot of time arguing with pupils about these and intend to stop save for the very worst!) and dealing with others by just reporting bad behaviour to heads of year rather than dealing with it myself. I am head of faculty so will focus just on what happens in lessons in my faculty rather than working quite so hard on having the best corridor behaviour in the school in my area - it is great having that but takes a lot of time, energy and conflict so it will just have to go n the back burner until I am getting proper sleep again. At this rate dd will be in year 7 by then herself and can help me!

Transfer fail, why do I bother?

TheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 15/01/2013 05:50

Tonight an improvement on last night thankfully, but still not great and I've been up since 5 trying to resettle her without much luck :( Getting frustrated now I'm so cold and tired just want to curl up again under my lovely duvet.

larle at the moment no I'm not happy with it. Got it put in a week or two before Christmas and am still bleeding so can't have sex or go swimming still. I've made a drs appt to review it and hoping it'll get fixed. I'm useless at remembering to take a pill so the concept appealed to me, if it doesn't work then I'll have the implant instead.

I've given up we're downstairs now. At least today DD1 is with her childminder so if I can get babylump back off to sleep I can at least try a kip on the sofa

BrainGoneAwol · 15/01/2013 05:53

Third feed here. Quite excited by this return to sensible relatively speaking and having had a couple of chunks of sleep. Trying not to get my hopes up too much! Grin

Thank you for the good wishes small, it obviously worked.

Babybrain has just done a nice long feed, so fingers crossed that I might get a bit more sleep.

stitch we do stretching exercises with babybrain to help get the wind out just before he goes in his growbag. It's not foolproof, but it does seem to help.

MrsNPattz · 15/01/2013 06:06

Second feed here and a rubbish time when I need to get up at half 7!! I wonder if i will get another hour! It's cold which isn't a good sign for outside.

funchum8am · 15/01/2013 07:18

brain what type of stretching exercises? babyfunch has wind issues!

7 times up last night. Confused one and a half feeds (I thought he would want one by 5:45, but no) and lots of dancing the Tennessee waltz with commentary. Oh well, three good nights before that so can't complain! Night before he went 9 hours straight. Shame that started at 5pm but you can't have everything, apparently!

On routines, we did have a lovely little routine all sorted... Up at 7, nap sometime between 9 and 10, long nap starting between 12 and 1, short nap late afternoon, bed at 7. This insisted on by Kid, not me obviously read Gina Ford when I wasn't looking Then four nights ago he went into his cot in his room, and routine is a blessed memory. Yesterday slept half the day (hence the broken night, I guess), day before did not sleep at all. And as someone up thread said, he is at that knackering age where if he is awake he needs entertaining but can't do it for himself yet.

Sorry for other bad nights... And sorry not to name check but Kid is beginning to lose it waiting for me!

StitchAteMySleep · 15/01/2013 08:47

Sorry to hear of all the bad nights, must have been something in the water yesterday.

Stitch was up at 5am, she woke me up by banging about and shouting from her cot, when I went in there she had managed to get a plastic tennis racket from a toy box and was practising her serve! Luckily dd1 didn't wake (makes mental note to move toybox today).

10.30 then 3.30 then 5.30 and wouldn't fall asleep after feed so I put him next to me at around 6.30 and slept till 9.25

Please tell me this phrase will be over soon!Confused He's 18 weeks. Why do some babies sleep through at 1-2 month but mine doesn't? Shock Can't help but think what have I done wrong..

Tooodlepip · 15/01/2013 10:24

hello all

my dh has gone again so I'm back on my lonesome Sad

I hope everyone is well and getting some sleep, or any sleep??

Amey I am also in nap hell and it does spiral when my dh isn't here as yesterday in the late afternoon my other two kept waking lil pip up by getting too rowdy and I am constantly giving out to them Sad and shhhing like a mad woman.

Anyway I have had a look at the link tea put up Smile thanks again for that, so I am going to try and accept the 30-45 min naps, and try and be less shouty.

its just annoying when 20-30 min of rocking and singing produce 15-20 mins nap, I think he hates going down in his cot during the day, what is with that? I mean how can a four month old decide that they will sleep in the cot at night but during the day they aren't fussed on it Confused

I am so jealous of your bath Missingmymarbles Envy, I need to shake myself into action been slumming it since dh went

ok baby up again, that nap was a whole 15 mins, what am I going to do??? he will scream all afternoon if he doesn't get enough sleep

sorry for not namechecking every one else, funchum, MrsN, welcome to all the new members

StitchAteMySleep · 15/01/2013 10:39

Tooodlepip when all else fails I've always bunged stitch in the sling/baby carrier to make her sleep. We had building works in our flats when she was newborn and the drilling was so intense it was the only way. She naps fine in her cot now.

Macaroons some babies are just like that, my eldest was, never slept through. It is not you or anything you have done wrong.

MrsNPattz · 15/01/2013 11:21

Hi toodle!

macaroons my little boy is 17 weeks and not sleeping through so you are not alone!

I lost 3.5lb at WW Smile

Tooodlepip · 15/01/2013 12:20

Well done MRsN I'm back on ww online in total since I started I have lost 1st 5 lb Shock and I wasn't even being strict most of the time Confused

GoatBongosAnonymous · 15/01/2013 12:21

macaroons they are alien babies, sent by a bunch of aliens that realise that the quickest way to overcome earth is through the mums. This is the only way I can fathom a one month old sleeping through, anyway!

Naturally Kid is now fast asleep. As we need to go out in about 15 minutes.

tooodle Kid would not sleep in his cot at all until two weeks ago. He was 5.5 months. I wish I could ask him what changed his mind so suddenly! Hmm

MrsNPattz · 15/01/2013 13:40

I don't know where my head is at today!!

First I got a letter from eBay with a code I had to put into my account, I tried and tried but it wasn't accepting it so I phoned them - I was putting a small x instead of a capital!!

Now I have just sterilised some things for expressing but I forgot to open the whole of the steriliser box so everything's melted over the microwave Blush my breast pump is ruined Sad I feel like such an idiot because I am

MrsNPattz · 15/01/2013 13:46

That should be hole not whole!!!!!

Tooodlepip · 15/01/2013 15:24

Ok nap 3 underway I brought in the pushchair Wink

mRsn i once melted my deep fat fryer on top of my cooker Shock yep I did

One of those days comes to us all for me more than some though Hmm

GoatBongosAnonymous · 15/01/2013 15:28

mrsn I once cooked a candle in a chicken curry and didn't notice until it was time to serve...
We're not idiots, just very busy and responsible for more than just us now!

funchum8am · 15/01/2013 18:40

Right GP has prescribed ranitidine for babyfunch to hopefully replace the Gaviscon. I gave her the first dose and she screamed til she threw up...guessing it doesn't taste that nice! I need to check the dosage so will wait and start it tomorrow instead when I am sure I am not giving her too much. The label instructions don't seem to be what I thought the doctor said, they seem five times the amount!

Tooodle and Mrsn well done, fab weight loss! I have stayed the same this week. I have joined ww online as well but not actually followed the plan, just using the tools at the moment and trying to cut out the crap food and do more exercise...buggyfit tomorrow!

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 15/01/2013 19:44

Sorry to hear of the bad nights. Ours was good. One feed at around 5am then up for day at 8am.

I thunk he's having yet another growth spurt as he's fed every two hours Today and is currently draining the 2nd side which he doesn't normally do. Only other thing I can think of is I was out this morning and he was fed EBM in a bottle so maybe making up for being away from me??

ChilliBanana · 15/01/2013 19:51

mrsn on Sunday I put my DH's workshirts through the tumble dryer along with a bright red lipstick that was in one of my pockets...
Congrats to all the shrinking and soon-to-be shrinking people; I find it so hard to eat sensibly at the moment so hats off to you all.
I'm seeing a childminder tomorrow as I go back to work soon (which I'm not really looking forward to) but as I work 40mins away and DH doesn't drive, do you think it's best to leave baby chilli witha cm close to work or close to home?I think the lack of sleep is playing a part in this as I'm not usually this indecisive!
I hope there is much sleep to be had for everyone tonight Smile

Smallgreenone · 15/01/2013 20:21

Ooh not sure chilli, I'd go close to home I think but not sure what my reasoning to that is! I'm knackered tonight so am in bed already Smile. Baby small wont nap in his cot during the day either but at night thinks the cot is a fine place to sleep until 3am when he likes to come in with
mummy Confused
Well done on weightloss mrsn and toodle, bet you feel fab. I'd like to lose 3 more pounds and then I'll be my ideal weight. I've been stubbornly stuck at my pre preg weight for a few weeks now but I wanted to lost the 3lbs before I was pregnant too. Don't know why I just have this thing about being a certain weight!

MissingMyMarbles · 15/01/2013 20:39

So sleepy!
Missmarbles in bed by 6.30 (which I have found means a generally better night), intruder at 7.15, all quiet now. DH has just finished reading to DD1, and I am already in bed, waiting for him (not in a Mistress Marbles kind if a way, we're both just knackeredGrin-lol)!

My bath was lovely Tooodle, but I had to wait til very late to have it. I had loads to do and did my C25K exercise as well, so it was bliss when I finally got in thereSmile

Eek at candles in curriesGrin Goat, but you're right we all do daft stuff. I do feel at the minute I am doing more than most. Need to get my game face on for going back to work thoughConfused My most recent was setting the smoke alarms off yesterday morning welding rice to the bottom if the pan - oops!

Day naps are quite a disaster in the Marbles household at the minute. We have quite regular times (I go by cues, and they are at quite regular times) but if I try to put her in the cot, she becomes super awake. If I rock her to sleep and attemp transfer, we have a spectacular transfer rate. I wimped out recently and have been doing morning naps on the sofa (allowed because I am in there too) or on me. And afternoon naps in the pram while we walk or in car doing messages. I need to toughen up and yet it sorted for the dreaded return to workConfused................................

and Sad

MrsNPattz · 15/01/2013 20:59

Thanks guys! I was rather chuffed with 3.5lb especially with the extra points I am getting for breast feeding.

Glad it's not just me with a dizzy head - I think I need to do something intellectual as I think my brain cells are dying Blush

Hopefully on final feed before bed. Hubby said it was -6 on his way home from work so we are in for a chilly night - sleeping through the night would be good wishful thinking

I have an appointment in the morning at the hospital about my eyes so we have to be up early. Little man is staying with MIL so hubby and I can concentrate on what they are saying, hate leaving him Sad

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 15/01/2013 21:55

Baby buzzy fell asleep after his mammoth feed but i thought he wouldn't sleep for long as he doesn't normally :( he's still asleep now and I could have been too!!!!

Going to head upstairs now and prob do another feed as he will wake up. Stupid stupid woman I am!
