If you consider children separately, 5 and a half actual consecutive years. Thats about one sixth of my life!

That's amazing! :) I have just stopped feeding ds2 who is 20 months and I honestly couldn't do it again for quite some time.
I don't regret a second of it but I'm glad to have my body back!

WhyIRayLiotta · 17/09/2012 20:05

Wow. That is amazing! I've been BF-ing DD for 9 months and that seems like forever!

TerrariaMum · 17/09/2012 20:07

Wow! Well done you! I'm on the 22 month mark which feels so little in comparison

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2012 21:06

thanks eveyrone :o the years have really crept up on me

Blimey! Well done! (meant in a non patronising way!) Feeding your DC with your own body for 7 years is really quite amazing.

It's funny how fast the time flies, isn't it? DD is only 15 months, so I have ages to go before I get to 7 years (and unless I have another baby I doubt I will! Grin ) but it's gone so fast.

5madthings · 17/09/2012 21:13

yay well done you!

i did it for over 9years! including tandem feeding ds2 and ds3 and then ds3 and ds4. it wasnt planned that way, just happened. i look back and think how the actual fuck did i do it that long! but in reality it kind of flies by!

its a great achievment tho, treat yourself to something nice :)

SirGOLDBoobs · 17/09/2012 21:16

Wow well done you!

5madthings · 17/09/2012 22:13

thankyou and well done to you as well :)

LadyMargolotta · 17/09/2012 22:16

Well done! I clocked up five and a half years in total. Don't regret one day of it. It occurred to me that 2012 is the first calender year since 2003 in which I haven't breastfed a child!

rubyslippers · 17/09/2012 22:16

That's awesome!

Congratulations Smile

Xmasbaby11 · 17/09/2012 22:18

Poor you! You must be desperate to have your body back!

iamusuallybeingunreasonable · 17/09/2012 22:27

Well done, not poor you, an achievement so few can claim, I'm on 25 months with DD... I'm now known as the oddity in these parts, quite the hippy spectacle/talking/muttering under breath point!

5madthings · 17/09/2012 22:47

my body was always my own even when i was bfeeding, they were still my breasts, they just happened to feed and comfort my children as well!

well done to everyone else as well Grin yes its part of parenting but it is an amazing thing to be able to feed and nurture our little ones in this way, being a mother is an amazing thing full stop and sadly undervalued :(

Llareggub · 17/09/2012 22:54

Congratulations! If DS2 feeds until the end of next month I will have managed 6 consecutive years. I am seriously considering buying myself a very marvellous present when he finally stops.

mumblecrumble · 17/09/2012 22:56

Boobies are brilliant :)

Hee hee, never got this thing about getting your body back....

You should deffo get yourself a present Llaregrub

In fact we all should

I am stopping in 2 weeks when DD is 3 years old

She's getting a bribe present so I think I should too

Something sparkly Wink

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2012 08:22

Wow well done everyone. Ds fed until he was four, and DD is 3 today and I was thinking I wouldn't be too upset if she stopped as it's starting to become a bit of a pain, but otoh it's on;y 10/15mins a day, and not even every day so I'm sure I can continue on that basis.

StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2012 08:23

ruby why should we all get Llaregrub a present? I don't even know her Wink :o

rubyslippers · 18/09/2012 08:24

Ha - grammar fail. Will blame on not enough coffee

Grin
StealthPolarBear · 18/09/2012 08:25

or deliberate misunderstanding on my part :o

rubyslippers · 18/09/2012 08:25

Happy birthday to your DD Smile

Mine is very into feeding still - she's never knowingly missed a feed and still demands a lot. I'm really ready to stop

mawbroon · 18/09/2012 09:25

I;ve got 4 weeks to go til I hit the 7year mark.

I just can't imagine not doing it any more, it's been so long. ds2 will be a while yet before he self weans I would imagine.

TruthSweet · 18/09/2012 09:39

Congratulations Stealth!

I've been bfing for 6y 6m continuously (March 06), DD1 bf for 3y 6m (42m), DD2 bf for 4y 8m (56m) and DD3 is 'still' bfing at 2y 11m (35m) so 133m or 11y 1m cumulatively. I've only had about 3m off tandem nursing in the last nearly 5y Grin so it feels weird to be only nursing one child at the moment.

Oh, and I am due with DD4 on Wednesday so I guess I will be adding another 3y or 4y onto my running total even if DD3 stops nursing today Wink.
