A old friend of mine used to keep greyhounds and would get dustbins full of that manky green tripe delivered to feed his dogs. Quite the most disgusting thing in the world

Tripe is revolting. Isn't it bleached for humans because it's green? (Well, it would be wouldn't it, it's the lining of a cow's stomach...barf)

When I was little my Dad bought some (he saw it in the butcher's window and got all nostalgic about not having had it since he was a kid). My brother and I were sort of prodding it with our forks, unenthusiastically, while my Dad tucked in with gusto. After about 6 mouthfuls he put his knife and fork down and said "I remember now why I've not had it for 30 years - it's vile."

We had fish and chips from the chip shop instead

So what does it actually taste of? please don't say chicken.

Has the texture of elastic bands with no real taste.

That about sums it up - rubbery and tasteless.

i always had visions of tripe looking a little like goose fat and coming out of a jar tbh .. I think that's from all the stories of 'tripe sandwiches'

My dog had tripe 0nce upon a time but i gagged eb=verey time i caught a whiff!! BLEAGH!!
