Extended breastfeeding - over two year old. Anyone?

Feeling really alone at the mo, anyone else feeding an over two-year old? DS is 28 months and still boob-obsessed which is fine in my opinion (for us).

Went to an 'extended breastfeeders' group today and it was for babies over 6 months! Not my idea of extended lol

And if there is anyone out there does your LO do anything erm bizarre with your boobs whilst feeding? DS has taken to feeding off one and sticking the other in his ear oh god I can't believe I admitted that!

Stopped at 6 months meself (tho hope to make it to a year next time) but just wanted to say good on you girls to all you extended bfers. As far as I can see it's our society that's weird for not doing this more, not you for doing it.... I like Spidermama's phrase 'curtailed bf'!

I fed all five of mine past the age of 2. The longest was just short of 4 years.

What would interest me is the perspective of people who were "extendedly" breastfed as kids so that they remember it. How do they feel as adults about it? This thread is all about the mums and the kids as kids - anyone out there prepared to comment as an adult/teenager? I was bottle fed so can't oblige!

My mate who is in her late 20s was breastfed for a year, her sis the same and her bro (the youngest) for 2 years
She thinks it is all normal and fine for me to still be feeding my LO at 14 mths

My ds is 2 yrs 8 months and still bf, mornings, nights, and anytime he fancies it really! One funny thing he does is to suddenly stop, put the nipple in his ear and say, "Hello?" ie pretending he is answering the phone. We call one breast "goodnight milkins" and the other "wake up milkins" and he likes to choose which one he wants.

Something not so cute is the way he sometimes tries to pull my face off with his bare hands while feeding.

Planning to continue bf until ds is ready to quit; I am single so no hassle about that! And we can co-sleep with impunity!

I bf my dd until she was 2 years 4 months and I am currently bf my 8 month old ds. I have no plans to stop until he decides he doesn't want it any more.
