What did/does your lo call your boobs/breastmilk??

I'm feeding my 11wk old dd and after an initially painful first two weeks I've had no problems and am absolutley loving it :)

Obviously dd not talking yet ( well if you don't count a-goo ) but I'm just wondering about your Los names for your breastmilk/boobies.

Did you encourage the choice or was it their own creation ? Any regrets , recommendations ??

Bah in general or More Bah, Mama Bah, Uh Bah - depending on who is asking and why!

DD1 gave it the name Bah and it has stuck through 3 DDs.

fakeblondie · 09/02/2012 16:41

Deed ! more deed ! ( pats boob at same time )

NewYearsRevolution · 09/02/2012 16:53

My DD1 self weaned at 21 months whilst I was pregnant and didn't have a word for it, but she calls it 'mummy milk' when talking about her little sister.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 09/02/2012 17:25

Glad everything is working out well for you and you are looking at feeding for longer. When my DC1 was little I read a lovely article which recommended not calling it anything you wouldn't be happy for a toddler to shout at the top of their voice in Tesco. I think the author was speaking from experience with her DC1 where they shouted something like "I want booby now". With her DC2 she called it lolo. I decided to copy and it worked out really well for us. When they could talk and we were out, if they ever said lolo all the other people would think they were waying hello so nobody ever batted an eyelid Smile.

Booby or boobage. But I stopped feeding them all at around 12 months so they couldn't really speak to ask for it yet. My sil is tandem feeding her nearly 5yr old and 2.5yr old. They call it bitty which I hate but the kids say it in a really sweet way which kind of makes up for it.

HJisthinkingofanewname · 09/02/2012 18:43

Dd3 signs milk but we call it mummy milk. She often calls it mmmmm too!

Quenelle · 09/02/2012 18:45

Moots

Glad you're enjoying it! That's great that you're planning ahead.

DD1 calls it booby. I didn't expect to be BF a 3.4yo Grin I don't know why but she has named them 'mummy booby' (r) and 'daddy booby' (l). We get some funny looks when she asks for daddy booby. I might see if I can get DD2 to call it something else but they're tandem feeding so it might be tricky.

thisisyesterday · 09/02/2012 18:54

ds3 calls it/them "nyim"

AndiMac · 09/02/2012 19:01

"Breasts" and "milk". Never thought to call it anything else really.

choceyes · 09/02/2012 19:05

"muhlk" here.

she says "bye bye muhlk" when she's done!

choceyes · 09/02/2012 19:06

sorry forgot to say she is nearly 18 months

rice33 · 09/02/2012 19:09

Great advice JJJ Smile

Eau rouge , wouldn't you just love to know the thought process behind mommy booby and daddy booby , I love it .

Andi mac - just thought it might be difficult for a lo to get their mouth around breast Wink

DS used to say "want milk from your tummy, mummy".

He refers to it every now and again, if he's overtired at bedtime, so he must remember it (stopped bf at 2yrs 6mths, he is now almost 4).

WoTmania · 09/02/2012 19:17

milks. Something I encouraged as a friend used to ask her DC if she wanted 'booby juice' which got a little embarrassing in public for her at times.

CinnamonEstella · 09/02/2012 19:17

I just always call it "milk", or refer to having "milk with mamma"
DD1 now calls it "DD2's milk".

I don't think I ever introduced a word for breasts while I was still feeding DD1 (stopped just before she was 2); aged 4 she does now know what they are and correctly calls them breasts.

ShipsCat · 09/02/2012 19:20

DD (2.2) asks for "mummy muwk" when she's tired or fancies a cuddle with benefits Smile

AndiMac · 09/02/2012 19:21

Rice33, I know what you mean, but actually mine never really talked about the breast, but I called it that at least. Milk is what they called it, or when that was tough to say, it came out as "nim".

QueenOfFeckingEverything · 09/02/2012 19:22

DS is 18mo and says 'mmmmmmmmmilk' Grin

StetsonsAreCool · 09/02/2012 19:24

20mo DD hasn't called it anything so far really, but she really isn't very much with the words.

She just climbs on my lap, pokes me in the neck Hmm, and says 'more'.

No doubting her meaning Grin

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 09/02/2012 19:25

Boobs or boobies and mummy milk.

TittyBojangles · 09/02/2012 19:26

My DS is 15mo and not talking really yet, but I refer to it as milk, so hoping he will just pick up on that, or a version of.

Tweetinat · 09/02/2012 19:28

DS call it 'milkuls' for some reason!

GlitterKitty · 09/02/2012 19:32

Mummy nana. Nana was good, plus he had a nana cloth which he is still very attached to. When he was older and demanded nana I could pretend it was the cloth...
