Just wondering at what stage everyone is at regarding BF. My DS is just over 7 months old and i'm still BF on demand, he had around 5 Breast Feeds a day plus breakfast, lunch and tea!

I fed DD until just before she was a year old. At about 10 months she was down to 2 feeds a day.

aloha · 30/09/2005 17:04

I'm bf my 7month old right now. no idea how many but at least 2 a night atm

dinosaur · 30/09/2005 17:14

My DS3 is 14 months old and I breastfeed him when he wakes up in the mornings. I'm never sure whether he actually gets much milk any more, but he seems to like it and it means I get to lie in my bed for an extra 20 minutes or so. Plus I like the fact that he'll should still be getting some wild measles antibodies, as I'm not planning on MMR'ing him just yet.

My DS is 7mths. Doing about 5 feeds plus 2 meals a day

spidermama · 30/09/2005 17:45

My ds is 8 months now and I'm still feeding on demand. He probably has around 6-8 feeds in the day (but I've never counted) and 2-4 at night.

He has started on solids recently, but is only just begining to tuck in properly.

Bubblesmum · 30/09/2005 19:14

My ds is 10 mo old and he still feeds about every 3 hours by day (+ solids) and usually once over night. I reckon maybe 6 feeds a day, plus breakfast, lunch and tea. He definitely is taking less and feeding MUCH faster. During the day it is < 5mins. I work during the week so I know he usually drinks about 5oz from a bottle per feed but at the weekend I can't get over how fast / efficient he is at the day feeds.

Tinker · 30/09/2005 19:19

Just over 4 months so far. Feed whenever she wants, 6 feeds per day?? And she sleeps 7 til 7 (Hope I've not tempted fate)

DS2 is 12 months, and bf on demand. I do one dreamfeed (thinking about giving it up), morning and night feeds, and a nap feed. Oh, and three or four other feeds whenever he's bored. (I'm debating trying to stop the demand feeding, as I don't like having my top tugged at etc when out and about, but I'm not sure if I want to, or how to do it anyway.)

He eats really well, and has started taking cow's milk pretty well, too, so I could certainly afford to cut down a bit ...

moozoboozo · 30/09/2005 19:56

DS is nearly 10 months nad still fed on demand. His feed vary from 2 feeds in a day to about 7 or 8. Depends on what mood he's in and if he's got some poor kid to bully.

chipmonkey · 30/09/2005 21:24

9 months. He was only in my tummy for 7 months, so now longer on me than in me! In total between all the ds's I have spent 2 years and 9 months bfing.

auntymandy · 30/09/2005 21:29

15 years!

Frayedknot · 30/09/2005 21:35

ds2, 2yrs, has just stopped and I won't be having anymore. BF is the only thing I'm clucky about.

Anyone need a wetnurse?

joke

Laura032004 · 01/10/2005 11:41

18 months on Monday DS is down to 2 feeds a day now, morning and night. He only ever asks outside of these times if he sees another baby feeding, or we are sat in the feeding position.

welshmum · 01/10/2005 12:03

4 months now. On demand during the day so haven't a clue how often. Nights down to 2 feeds between 7 and 7 so pretty happy really

anoif · 01/10/2005 16:45

i breast fed my boys for 4 months then went onto aptamil formula you burn 500 calories breast feeding and gives your child a 5 percent higher iq than bottle fed

anoif · 01/10/2005 16:49

my 30 month old has taken to spitting and biting how can i stop him.

berolina · 01/10/2005 16:49

ds is 4 1/2 months, am bf on demand (ave 10-12 times in 24h - 1.5-3h apart during day, and usually he'll go 3-6h at night, but there were phases of every 2h last night as he has a cold and I think it comforts him). Hope to bf until he self weans.

misdee · 01/10/2005 17:35

dd3, 7months old, feeds about 5 times aday, big feed in the evening plus 3 meals a day. you would think she would be huge but she is a tiny wee thing.

highlander · 01/10/2005 18:12

DS is 12.5 months. Has 2-3 feeds (morning and evening). Still likes loads of comfort booby during the night when teething etc.

I would give up............ but I can't be arsed
