Argh I cant stand Katie Hopkins! What she just said about costa coffee made me want to throw the radio.

Does she expect me not to feed my dd in public because someone may feel guilty. I'm sorry if you feel guilty YOU feel guilty it has got fook all to do with me and I'm not trying to rub it in.

OK, thinking like that is laughable, but it's also actually quite unkind, and it's hugely judgmental.

And when challenged that there was no difference between formula and breast, she took massive offence at this statement which attempted to explain the difference:

'human milk is made fresh for that particular baby by the mother, and formula milk comes from cows'.

Yep - apparently that should not be said, even when asked.

It was about some report that says women who don't breast feed are made to feel guilty by health professionals and that soft-pedalling might be more helpful. I think that was the jist of it....

I suppose soft pedalling would include no dangling in Costa's - we have been warned.

I did catch the last email they read out, actually. A listener basically said 'well, when I decided not to bf my baby, the mws kept coming up to me and extolling the virtues of bf, and I felt very pressured, so I think it's true.'

Ah, if only I didn't live at the arse end of nowhere.... I could hotfoot it down to a Costa and force a feed down the baby. He's at that charming stage where he takes a huge swig then turns round to grin at people leaving me with my mammaries dangling in the breeze. Nice.

I heard this discussion earlier, Katie Hopkins is an ignoramus who was quoted on R2 as saying "I bottle fed all my children. My breasts were back at work. In a suit".

I breast fed mine. My breasts were hard at work, 24 hours a day. No suit required.

I'm headed to the UK for Xmas - think I'll have to see if there's a Costa anywhere near Maidenhead. There's 3 of us feeding at the moment - we could go for a coffee.

Costa is the best place for feeding with drinks and snacks, the staff are ace and they always have liners for the baby change.

That woman clearly needs to stop staring at other women's boobs and eat more cake. Perhaps she could take her FT to Costa.

I don't know who Katie Hopkins is, I'm sorry she feels guilty when she sees mothers BF their babies but why should everything revolve around her? The information available on BF is designed to help new mothers make an informed decision, not to make existing FF mothers feel guilty.

Why would seeing someone breastfeed, when you yourself have happily formula fed as she says she has, make you feel that way???
