DM Breastfeeding poll about feeding a child over the age of 2

Just seen on the DM site (yes I know) a poll would you breastfeed your child over the age of 2 currently 10% yes to 90% no. Does anyone know what prompted this poll. No doubt trying to make out breastfeeding mums are odd as usual. I only breastfeed mine until 11/12 months months but don't have a problem with people doing it for longer.

Sorry just googled a bit more and found it relates to article published yesterday regarding a lady feeding her 6 year old. Probably already been discussed.

Well if I had done a poll like that 18 months ago I probably would have said no, as I had no plan to feed after 2.

But DS turns 2 next week and is still feeding so it's all a bit pointless, if you don't want to then, er don'tSmile

And it is the DM. So anyone who breastfeeds for more than 5 seconds is a weirdo hippy, but any celeb who stops breastfeeding before they turn 10 is a selfish bitch - women hating rag.

Vote at right hand side of page SPB, still works :)

At 11% yes now, MN ladies been on?

rainbowinthesky · 11/12/2010 12:05

Need to wash my finger tips after going on to the dm website. Shudder. Voted "yes" of course.

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2010 12:16

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh what an article

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2010 12:17

Can understand if the poll was about a 6yo - I can see that is controversial. But how is feeding a 2yo controversial exactly?? When it's exactly what the WHO and NHS recommend

DuelingFanio · 11/12/2010 12:22

I can't find the poll.

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2010 12:22

RIght I have just added a comment, despite having to enter my details about 6 times

jaggythistle · 11/12/2010 12:22

The article made my eyes hurt too.

Maybe she thought she was helping to normalise it? The posed photos and accompanying article have just fired up the DM muppets though I think.

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2010 12:23

it's down under the articles on the right hand side - it's quite well hidden

DuelingFanio · 11/12/2010 12:23

ignore me, I found it :)

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2010 12:24

OK have jsut stopped reading the comments my blood pressure can't take it

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2010 12:25

OK where is my comment?? I had to jump through hoops to post that, if I don;t see it I'll be furious.

jaggythistle · 11/12/2010 12:28

comments moderated in advance SPB ...

MemooMerrilyOnHigh · 11/12/2010 12:28

I've has to stop reading too, making me really cross

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2010 12:30

It seemed to imply that your comment would be posted once you'd validated it through email (which I did) - obv they now have my email address and know it's valid iyswim

DuelingFanio · 11/12/2010 12:30

It sometimes takes ages for them to put comments on.

I do wonder why this woman keeps on selling her story to the press here in the Mirror in April

Daily Mail in April

Closer in November

Same picture used though so have the Daily Mail just re-printed it?

jaggythistle · 11/12/2010 12:32

just making some cash out of it then?

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2010 12:33

Oh yeah DF?? Regular DM reader are we? :o
Yes, that is odd, looks like she's out to make money.
Hmm...wonder if I could! How do you get 'noticed' anyway? No one has ever asked me - BTW do you still by any chance feed your DS?

DuelingFanio · 11/12/2010 12:38

Blush it's terrible. I read it all the time and I can't stop myself from commenting. Grin

online only of course.

I comment on all their fertility, abortion and breastfeeding articles but often they don't print my comments.

I wonder if it's just the same article re-hashed over and over? The DM love this kind of topic as it makes women look mad.

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2010 12:40

do you need to get some help for your addiction?
when's your baby due btw...must be nowish?

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 11/12/2010 12:40

Need some more yes votes, so bumping!

knobbingnowt · 11/12/2010 12:43

Just voted.

I am breast feeding a 3 year old, her choice not mine.

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 11/12/2010 12:43

Duelling, she did say she was skint. Mind you, I'm skint too, but I wouldn't want my mug in the paper now I'm fat Grin
