DM Breastfeeding poll about feeding a child over the age of 2

Just seen on the DM site (yes I know) a poll would you breastfeed your child over the age of 2 currently 10% yes to 90% no. Does anyone know what prompted this poll. No doubt trying to make out breastfeeding mums are odd as usual. I only breastfeed mine until 11/12 months months but don't have a problem with people doing it for longer.

just voted - I b'fed my DS until he was 3.

Why would anyone care either way?

It is quite ridiculous that such private things would bother anyone else

Oh and children lose their ability to latch at about aged 7, so she only has a few more months to go

CamperFan, in these polls i always think the unspoken question is "Do you think it's disgusting to breastfeed past the age of 2?" So you're voting in support, despite your personal plans.

I am going to confess on here that DD, now 7 BF directly from me a few times when DS2 was born (she was 6.5) - gosh we could have been in the Daily Mail!!!

She told me how much she loved the taste, but she knew it wasn't really "right" - because it was the babies milk, so didn't ask for it very often.

But she is my baby too and I wasn't going to say no. DS2 has stopped now, so she knows there is no milk left.

Actually think its such a non story.

Although could do with some reassurance that I'm doing OK. DS is just over 2, he's still having milk before bed, sometimes overnight and then in the morning. Feeling a little shrivelled at the moment and thinking about stopping but don't want to force DS to stop. :(

Lizum, you sound like you're doing fine to me! My DD is 2.2 and still feeding quite a few times a day. If you want to stop then I've heard about gentle ways to wean although I have no experience of it myself.
