Your views on Breast feeding in public places.

Hello I am a Student at Harrogate College, and I am researching a hypothesis that 'Breast feeding in public places is more acceptable than it was a generation ago'.
I am a Mum myself and have two children aged 11 and 6 yrs old.
I would love to hear your personal experiances on Breastfeeding in public places, all information will be confidential.

f - Never gave it a second thought, even breastfed in a sling whilst walking round Sainsburys

I expressed for DS1, but for the purposes of 'topping up' on an evening whilst at home, not for any social / embarrassment reason. Expressing is a faff and I've never considered expressing purely for reason of preventing from uncomfortable moments.

f) All of the above F Public transport is the only one I heasitated about but that's probably because I don't really use it (sorry!) Would hesitate on a bus for instance but mainly for practical reasons such as space.

I would never express to feed in public because I would find it too much effort. Would just get on with it.

I would prefer not to as it's not something I feel comfortable and confident with yet. I have large breasts and sometimes have difficulty getting DS to latch on. Have only done it twice in public, once in a service station because we got stuck in traffic on the motorway and once at a BAPS meeting because I was having trouble with latch.

I declined,they left,others came over to congratulate me.That is the only time.I have BF all 5 of my children.

Just want to add,this summer I have BF number 5 lots of times, in many public places locally,and on many - 7 or 8 - occasions I have been approached, while feeding, by older Welsh -speaking women,who have asked do I need anything and how lovely that "nursing is coming back".

Only one negative comment from an old lady in a doctor's surgery. Some positive comments from other mums and in particular old ladies in the park.
