Had this discussion earlier with friends about Kamala potentially taking over now Joe Biden has stepped down but with the rise of populism, it's scary times with the amount of misogynoir she'll face especially against trump.

Aside from how women let alone Bi-racial women are presented in US politics her politics and record for Black Americans isn't the best especially her track record on policing.

It is sad really, but no surprise that even her hair would be under scrutiny being a black woman!

I don't think it's under scrutiny, I'm Gen-Z and it's something Black folk of my age all say how lovely her hair is styled it's never under the guise of scrutiny or criticism

Having said that, probably varying generational responses - I care less and less about hair as I get older.

I understand, I was not meaning here tbh, I was just thinking in general. I remember, for example the flak that Simone Biles was receiving for having one hair out of place. As black women our hair does receive a lot of undue attention.

And she was fantastic. The highlight of the Olympics for me so far, was watching Simone, and of course Team GB.

Watching how she has grown stronger and more empowered is so joyful.

Kamala is Blindian which is, contrary to what American media tells us, is typically Caribbean. She also has a lot support from republican biracial, Indians and black people seperately - which is why Trump wheeled out Vance with his racist Indian wife.

I think she absolutely can win, but to do so she needs to utterly destroy Trump and Vance -something we know she can do. She’s been too quiet for my liking so far
