arti - so sorry to hear. goodluck, keep breathing, and listen carefully to what the doctors say, they might not come up with your worst fears. x

JollyBear · 10/10/2008 11:30

arti How horrible for you. I hope things get resolved and it turns out to be a false alarm. Don't google too much, you'll only find scary rare stuff that will make you feel even worse. , wishing you all the best.

mibbes You're lucky, several people have warned me about the bleeding afterwards, TMI in some cases! The big knickers are recommended for after a c-section because nice boy shorts and mini knickers will rest on the scar. It has to be granny knickers all the way apparently. I'm going to Matalan or Primark and stocking up on huge black pairs! Dark nighties and towels are a must too I hear.

Nice to see you back Kayisexpecting.

Following on from veggie's tips for the bunged up, I read on MN somewhere that rocking back and forth whilst on the loo helps, and it does! I'm not sure why

beans and summer I'm another shy converstation starter . It is a shame we don't live near one another and we can get together and be shy!

jumpjockey · 10/10/2008 11:35

arti fingers crossed for you, hope it turns out ok. Try not to worry about work (I know it's hard!), the baby and your health are far more important right now.

rosmerta sorry you're feeling down, this is a great place for letting it all out if that helps at all [hug]

Right SL no more of this shyness, next week after yoga let's swap phone numbers/emails and we can arrange to meet up and talk baby stuff when we're wearing normal clothes!

(NB I'm utterly rubbish at the talking to people thing too, it's easy to be assertive via the interweb!)

waitinggirl · 10/10/2008 11:42

LadyT - i think i might have worked out who you are from your comments about the Beeb etc. if so, my dh is in the same industry as your late dh and certainly knew of him, if not knew him (will have to check). also have one of his books on our shelves which is treasured. what a fantastic legacy to have of his. (oh, this seems all super cryptic, doesn't it?)

chutneymary · 10/10/2008 11:58

Oh Arti, I am so sorry things are so stressful. Glad your DH can come with you though. Take care and keep us posted.

Meeting up - is next Friday happening? As for a mini S london meet, I can easily get to CLap Junction from where I live and so would love to meet up pre or post baby. Someone (sorry can't find who just now) mentioned moving to SE London which is where I live. There are lots of lovely parks etc round here for wandering and meeting. Tell me who you are and hope we can meet for coffee or something at some point.

Rosmerta - sorry you are so down at the moment. Can you take an hour or so tomorrow while your DS is asleep to see if you can make some headway with you new mortgage.

Off to collect DD from pre school now. Back later.

pixsix · 10/10/2008 12:35

chutney it's me moving to SE London, Greenwich, in November. I would love to meet up sometime, whereabouts do you live?

SummerLightning · 10/10/2008 12:39

jj yes definitely! I should be at yoga next wed.

PS I had a dream last night that I was at a sort of joint hippy/food fair, and there was a massage stall offering perineal massage! In the open! Funnily enough no-one was taking them up on it, and I was trying to sneak past so they didn't see i was pg and try and rope me in. Note anyone skim reading this....this was a dream!

jumpjockey · 10/10/2008 12:45

SL it wouldn't surprise me if that sort of thing was on offer in the more distant corners of Strawberry Fair!

Just to explain to everyone else, SF is a big summer one-day event in a park in the centre of Cambridge with bands and DJs etc, which in the last few years has been mostly taken over by stalls selling herbal highs, tie-dyed clothes and organic hand-knitted felafel. Arhhh, it weren't like that in my day [etc etc] meant to be great fun for the nippers though

zoejeanne · 10/10/2008 12:47

arti so sorry to hear you've been called to hospital, it must be very scary for you. Just realised the time and you must be leaving work and on your way now, but I'm hoping the doctors are being over cautious and that you're free to come again very soon.

kayz good to hear from you again

ladyt good luck with the driving, and I'm sending de-swelling vibes to your wrists so you can keep going with the lessons. The do for your late DH sounds like it was worth standing up for too, definitely

turnip how was the yoga this morning? I'm sure starting late on won't be an issue - someone turned up at aquanatal for the first time at 41 weeks (think she was willing to try anything to get baby out!), so its never too late

Tonight I'm going to my god daughters 1st birthday party - I'm so excited about it, but can't believe she's a year already and it's scaring me how quickly the first year with babyZJ will pass.

zoejeanne · 10/10/2008 12:48

SL just read about your dream - sounds like more of a nightmare!!

Verso · 10/10/2008 13:05

artichokes I hope everything goes ok at the hospital and that they are just being extra cautious. It must be really disappointing to have to go through all this again.

Beans and chutney hurrah re CJ! Would be fab to meet up - when does your maternity leave start?

The general meet up is planned for next Friday (17th) if anyone wants to come - it's the postponed one from when we were all feeling rubbish a couple of weeks ago.

The baby is currently poking me hard in the ribs on my r/h side and I can't seem to get it to shift. Grr!!!

Beans33 · 10/10/2008 14:02

Afraid I can't make the meet up on 17th, damn it - am with ILs. AGAIN. Ho hum.

My maternity leave starts on 7th November, so any time that month would be good - best week is probably 17th November for a lunch/coffee type thing? Or the week after as well, that would be cool think that's 24th... I can heft my big fat ass down there, I'm sure! would be great to meet some fellow tubbies before the arrival!

kmp1 · 10/10/2008 14:03

Arti sorry about your update. Glad you found DH though, and hope to hear a good outcome.
SL glad you put that in bold (I was skimming!!!)
Beans/chutney/pixsis if anyone meets in SL - is it Clapham as mentioned? I'm in SW20 if it's not too far I'd love to have coffee too!

kmp1 · 10/10/2008 14:04

ps, where did everyone's names come from? mine from name! just curious!

Beans33 · 10/10/2008 14:15

Clapham Junction - if anyone's interested?

My nickname from birth is Beanie, and 33 is how old I am! so just kind of followed.

I'm trying to upload my monthly photo onto here, but it won't let me. DAMN! I don't think I've grown much for last 2 months...

SummerLightning · 10/10/2008 14:18

I tried a few names and they were taken.
SummerLightning is the name of a nice beer and a bit of mountain bike trail on the North Downs. And it's kind of cheerful. And appropriate to this years weather.

My RL nickname is too embarrassing to derive a name from!

waitinggirl · 10/10/2008 14:21

my nickname came from when i started on MN last year, while waiting for the interminable scans from my second miscarriage to confirm it was actually a miscarriage (couldn't tell as the sodding thing kept growing a bit, but not enough to be viable - it was a 3 week wait in the end from first sign something wasn't right to mc)

not a nice story, but appropriate enough name - still waiting...

zoejeanne · 10/10/2008 14:22

kmp mine's my name too - I'm not creative enough think of anything else!

rosmerta · 10/10/2008 14:22

I won't be able to make the meet up next week, booo! If anyone wants to meet for a coffee around West London though, I'm ds-less Tues & Fri am!

chutney the mortgage application is done & has been sent off but they keep ringing to clarify stuff which puts dh on edge a bit that we're not going to get it!

Kmp if you're interested, my name is from the Harry Potter books, but as I found out in Celtic myth she's the goddess of fertility & abundance!

kmp1 · 10/10/2008 14:30

thanks all! it's interesting reading where your name's come from - keep em coming! I have another question - how has everyone's weight changed coming into the last trimester? Some I know has slowed down in the weight gain dept, but I know it's when the bub grows the most? My scales have been broken for 3 weeks but fixed now and too scared to get on!!!

kmp1 · 10/10/2008 14:31

Rosmerta where are you in WL?

SummerLightning · 10/10/2008 14:37

Not weighed myself for a couple of weeks but back then had put on about 1 3/4 stone so far, would estimate still about a pound a week.

SummerLightning · 10/10/2008 14:38

Also, I'm not as hungry now.

Beans33 · 10/10/2008 14:54

I've put on 2 stone since the start. Don't think it's too bad. Weight stalled for about 3 weeks, but have now put on a couple of lbs in last week or 2. Not too phased about it really - what will be will be. Then will make massive effort to lose it when beastie is about 3 months old.

Has anyone else got a strangely furry tummy? Mine's much furrier round my tummy button, some blond and some dark. And I have the odd little spot on there too. Looks quite strange!

Beans33 · 10/10/2008 14:56

Oh and my tummy button won't pop out. Almost disappointed.

Have very faint linea nigra and it's wonky - no wonder my tummy is always so flabby - wonky muscles!
