Well, I hope a lot more of us can manage to have our babies in THIS thread, even if we will probably talk our way through it well before the end of the month!

Mummy2bsoon- I know exactly how you feel!!!!

When were/are you due?

bebejones · 21/07/2008 14:10

mummy2b know how you feel, feel incredibly guilty for not enjoying pregnancy! Always had a thought that I might have gone early cannot imagine going overdue, so sympathies to anyone who is! Just have to keep telling myself it wont be long now, and that on the grand scale of things a possible 4 weeks still to go isn't THAT long! Just have to keep reminding myself that I will be a mummy soon, and how amazing that is going to be! And if that fails I just have a massive piece of chocolate cake!!! What will be will be and LO will arrive when they are meant to, and it will all be worth it I am sure! Chin up chickie!! xxx

AggiePanther · 21/07/2008 14:11

Hi mummy2bsoon - I know how you feel - I went 6 days over...
But just to reassure you ...it will happen ...and soo.
I got to the stage where I'd started to believe I'd be pregnant forever!

In the end I went from no contractions to holding my baby in 3 and a half hours so just because nothing is happening now doesn't mean it won't happen soon ... maybe today even.

Just as a bit of hippy dippy stuff..just before I went into labour I was reading hte overdue thread and somebody wrote about 'connecting' with your baby and telling it it's time to come. So when I went to bed I listened to one of my relaxation mp3s which was all about 'bonding with your baby' ...not sure what it said as I fell asleep during it, but I woke up in labour! Probably totally unrelated ...but having a relaxing bath and lie down and 'talking' to LO can't do any harm
Chin up ((hug))

mummy2bsoon · 21/07/2008 14:27

pigleychez · 21/07/2008 15:35

Well there goes another bowl of fresh pineapple!

Not that its done anything so far but you never know.... this may be the magic bowl!

Plan a nice long walk round the lake this evening... see if that helps!
Getting desperate now as im running out of time!!

bebejones · 21/07/2008 15:51

Pigley Someone suggested to me that my FIL take me out accross his field in land rover if I go over....not entirely sure that would work but is there anyone that could take you for a bit of off roading?!!?!?! Hang in there! I am a great believer in babies will come when they come, but still wont stop me trying anything and everything to get this one out when I am past my EDD!

pigleychez · 21/07/2008 16:13

bebe- Someone did suggest offroading but dont think our cars are built for that. Have been getting DH to drive over the potholes in the roads that he would normally avoid.

ponto · 21/07/2008 16:26

Hi all, logging on via Blackberry to let you know that I had a baby girl, Bryony Kate, at 10.11 this morning. She came in a big rush in the end - had her on antenatal ward as no time to transfer to delivery suite! So no pain relief. And she weighed 10 lb 8 oz! It was awful but worth it, will post full story later. Feeding like a demon ever since, will try to get Lansinoh on way home later.

Love to all those still waiting - I hope yours come before T+16 which was what Bryony was!

pigleychez · 21/07/2008 16:44

Oh Ponto! Huge congratulations!!!

Cant wait to hear your story.... im due to be induced tomorow night so be intrested in what goes on.

Def making you wait but now you can enjoy plenty of cuddles!!

Looking forward to the pics!

Polyxene · 21/07/2008 16:59

Ooof, I've been too busy (feeding, mainly!) to get on MN the last several days. Just about caught up on thread - I ended up taking notes as I went!

So - CONGRATULATIONS to Aggie, Rumpel, Minnie, CilC, Umlellala, Heffa (and Franny if she reads this)!!!

And congratulations on the delivery of your new car, Bebe!

WELCOME to Radiohelen

Somewhat belated GOOD LUCK to Gilly and Ponto!

Much sympathy to mummy2bsoon - it really will be "soon" now, hang on there! - and to Pigley and all the rest of the overduers or just plain fed-up-ers.

Libralady, no yanbu! Disney I'm not on facebook so can't see the pics, but I think you are an amazing strong woman! Minkus about you getting SPD in labour, that really doesn't seem fair, I do hope it goes away soon. Mine is vastly better since Wilfie was born (I was crutches/wheelchair/the works) though it hasn't 100% cleared up yet as it did last time, but then it wasn't as bad last time and I didn't have it for so long, so hopefully it's just a matter of time. My main problem at the moment is the ME relapse, but as I was expecting that this time we seem to be managing better so far (I'm not looking forward to DH going back to work though.) I'd love to get out to the sales in theory, though in practice it's maybe better for my ego if I don't find out how awful my saggy tummy looks in 'real' clothes and how much weight I have to shift etc!

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY Aggie! It's funny how many of us seem to have July birthdays, as well as our LOs!

Well, I wouldn't say I've covered everything, but I'm sure that's more than enough for now, and it's taken so long to write there's probably been another dozen posts in the meantime!

So, CONGRATULATIONS to Ponto too!!!

mummy2bsoon · 21/07/2008 17:06

congrats ponto!!!!

ahhh...

come on babies...!

EEC · 21/07/2008 17:11

Congrats Ponto . So they do all come out in the end! Bryony is a beautiful name. (Goes away to rethink girls names)

Mummy2bsoon - have tried a sweep, 'relations', pineapple, long walk, curry, bouncing on ball - all to no avail. I think that as LO is still OP that he is just not in a good position to start labour off naturally, and I will end up induced. Got another sweep on Wed, but not too hopeful. Anyone on here gone into labour naturally with OP baby? positive stories appreciated.

sweetkitty · 21/07/2008 18:11

hi ladies

Ponto - congratulations on the birth of Bryony beautiful name
will catch up better later hectic few days with loads of visitors and DD1's 4th birthday

Bethany is still utterly gorgeous and feeding like mad.

gillythekid · 21/07/2008 19:05

Quick one ladies. Nathaniel Sean Henry born this morning at 06.37 weighing 8lb 6oz. 24 hours from start to finish, hypnobirthing, tens and gas and air! I was like a primeval banshee by the end. He is very quiet and content and I can't believe Nate is ours.
Love to all still waiting, I spent Saturday night twiddling my nipples endlessly if that helps! Birth story to follow (if you have time for War and Peace)

pigleychez · 21/07/2008 19:07

Many congratulations Gilly!!!

Looking forward to seeing some pics and reading your story..

minipinkscottish · 21/07/2008 19:51

congratulations gilly and ponto xx

radiohelen · 21/07/2008 19:56

Yay Gilly....can't wait to hear how the hypnobirthing went. The banshee bit had me laughing. I saw a video of a woman giving birth in absolute silence while we were learning and frankly - it just seemed wrong....all critters make noise when they give birth - low grunty howly yowly noises. I'm planning on making a lot of noise....I've been practising my ha ha ha's so my pelvic floor twitches...it's a yoga thing and makes you feel like an eejit!

Needless to say I am still waiting...T+3 and i've got a midwife's appt tomorrow so she can tell me everything is fine and book me for an induction at a time convenient to them! Not sure if I want to wait or not.....have to think about that tonight.

catec · 21/07/2008 20:56

Congrats Gilly and Ponto!! Lovely names.

libralady · 21/07/2008 21:35

Congratulations gilly and ponto. Fantastic names.
Thanks for all the positive thoughts girls. I have relented on the golf thing though, albeit as long as tee off time is very early in the morning so he is back by lunchtime to spend some time with the children.
Maybe I am a soft touch and incredibly tired so emotions are running high. We haven't argued or even raised voices regarding this so are still calm iyswim. I know I need to put my foot down and even moaned sbout DH to MIL today and she agreed he needs to make some more family time.
Oh and work have agreed to me extending my ML due to my Mum having her hip replacement op and her being my childcare. Now instead of going back on 22nd September, I'm going back on 3rd November after the 1/2 term holidays unless of course I win the lottery.

isaidno · 21/07/2008 21:44

Congrats Ponto and Gilly! Babies at last!
