Well, I hope a lot more of us can manage to have our babies in THIS thread, even if we will probably talk our way through it well before the end of the month!

Hello Ladies,

Am feeling a little bit more with it now and realised i put the wrong birth wieght, Declan was 7lb 9oz born, went down to 6lb 150z when admitted to hosp and then came out 7lb 7 1/2oz when discharged.
Ok the birth story, i was feeling preety fed up and decided on the wednesday that i was going to have a plan to start this labour, cleaned all the windows and then at night had a pack of pineapple, followed by a hot bath followed by sex!!!, went to bed and woke up about 5am feeling a bit strange, went back to sleep and got up at 730am, thinking i may be having contractions, very strange as waters popped before contractions last time, so i wasnt 100% sure it was the real thing. The pains were very frequent but not lasting very long, and very low down. Decided at 8 that they felt quite and getting stronger and would get checked, rung the hospital who asked if i wanted to go in but to be prepared to be sent home, arrived at 8.50, MW thought it may be a water infection, when she examined me was 4cm!!, sent to delivery room at 9am, started gas and air, progressed very quickly when she next examined me 6cm, and she broke my waters which was a huge relief, finally delivered at 10.57am after about 5 pushes. The labour itself was very similar to last time, just started differently.
I hope all of you that are still waiting for little ones to make an arrival, get your wish soon.

MINNIE1 · 11/07/2008 17:09

excitedfornumber2
Can i have a labour just like yours please...

SK
You sound like you are going to go into labour soon and i think if you do it will be a quick one... Fingers crossed for you dear. Rest up tonight a bit of that could bring it on especially when you are not used to resting with DDs...

Calls and texts so getting on my nerves..

ButterflyMcQueen · 11/07/2008 17:11

sweep was 3 hours ago and no twinges yes but passed a lot of blood

lying flat dreading the inevitable!

ButterflyMcQueen · 11/07/2008 17:12

congrats disney and poly very diff birth stories!!

sk we need you to update!

sweetkitty · 11/07/2008 17:24

butterfly - hope it is the start for you even though you are scared, better to get it over and done with than be in this waiting stage honestly and you get a baby out of it.

excited - great story will update the list in a bit

minnie - I don't think I am close have another MW appointment on Monday and will ask her for another sweep and to have a check, I would rather nothing was happening that hours of false contractions going nowhere.

Hiya Butterfly, had my sweep at exactly the same time as you. Just been to get the weekly shop, which was s truggle to walk properly. Now resting up. MW said the cervix was favourable so am hopeful for soon. If no baby by Sunday, booked for another sweep. That'll be fun as it's my mum's birthday and I'll have a houseful of family.

Fingers crossed for all of us on the due date/overdue cusp. Let's go!

Minkus · 11/07/2008 18:14

Well done Polyxene and Disney, great names both.

Thanks all for wishing me to feel better, I do feel a bit brighter today although still a bit spaced out! Went shopping this morning which made me feel better, my maternity clothes are all too big and my normal clothes all too small so I was feeling fed up as had nothing to wear. Bought a cheap pair of jeans and a pretty cardi, a couple of feeding/support vests and new nurseing scaffolding (bras) and so at least I might feel a bit presentable again! Also treated myself to a pair of shoes which always perks me up. DH has promised curry and red wine tonight- he's cooking again, wonderful man that he is- and so thankfully today has been a lot more fun than yesterday.

Butterfly - you said "i go almost mental with obsessional and insecure love for dp and baby" it's weird isn't it that is exactly what it's like. All I can do to put Louis down, have to force myself to let him be as I just want to hold him and kiss his little nose all the time! And feel soo in love with dh for giving me this wonderful little man and looking after me so nicely this week, feel all fragile "little lady" which is so very unlike the normal me.

Hormones eh? Who'd have em!

SOrry for me me me post, will catch up on rest of thread and engage in proper conversations soon I promise

JacobsPrincess · 11/07/2008 20:37

Glad you have had a better day today Minkus - amazing what a bit of TLC and some retail therapy can achieve!

Trying to compile a birthing CD (not savvy enough to have an Ipod!) - is it very sad to put "Copacabana" by Barry Manilow on it? It always cheers me up to sing along to, and DH has already vetoed "I'm in the mood for dancing" by The Nolans!

Butterfly and Donut - my fellow sweepees! Anything yet? Don't think the bus ride helped much, and now I just feel a bit sore - I know how James Herriot's cows feel now! The registrar did my sweep, and afterwards I told the dr that normally I would expect someone to at least buy me a drink before I let them do that to me.

purplejennyrose · 11/07/2008 20:42

Hello all! I'm back! Sorry not to post earlier - only came home today and forgot to give dh instructions re posting on here!
So, Florence Annie arrived at 10.13am monday, weighing 8lb 1oz! C-section was great, very relaxed and calm - worst bit was having spinal put in. The team were fantastic - sooo professional and it all went very smoothly and quickly. They lowered the screen for me to see her coming out - she was lifted up crying and weeing everywhere! Before that, dh was going 'oh, there's a foot coming out of your tummy..oh, a leg..a bottom..'.Considering her weight as well as breech and SPD, I am glad we did go for section (dd1 was only 6lb 13. No regrets at all.
She fed in recovery room already.Feeding has been OK, but oh the pain and agony of the nipples!! I'd forgotten just how toe-curling!Transferred back to MW unit on Tues, and came home today. Typing this one-handed as she is feeding. Not had more than 3 hours sleep in little bits at night since she came so a bit tired, but coping ok with it on the whole...
dd1 is very impressed by her sister - loves to kiss her, wants to hold her (!) and announced ' I love baby sister' - aaah!
I am feeling much better than I expected to - very neat scar, wound is sore obv but the SPD is all gone !!!! I knelt down on the floor with dd1 today, and I can walk normally - hurrah hurrah hurrah. Feel so much calmer and emotionally stable than first time too!
For Facebookers there should be photos there. May have to try and set up profilie on here too! Anyway, we think she is gorgeous.
There we go! Congrats to Disney and any other new mummies - can't believe this new thread is already so long. Hee hee! xx

purplejennyrose
Congrads on the birth of you daughter..Fine weight too.

Sweetkitty
False contractions are annoying but they have to be moving things down there IYKWIM. Its looking like the 12th for us

Pains and aches but nothing happening!! off for a nice hot bath now and a chill out with DP. God how DDs run the life out of me...

AggiePanther · 11/07/2008 21:23

Congratulations purplejenny!!

isaidno · 11/07/2008 21:35

Congrats Jenny!

ponto · 11/07/2008 22:10

Congratulations Disneystar, Polyxene and Purplejennyrose! I am very that so many people with due dates after mine have now given birth! Am having BH every time I stand up but nothing really painful, and still no show despite a very thorough sweep by the midwife yesterday. Have had horrible pain in my side today from coughing so much - dd2 and I have both got some viral thing so are feeling sorry for ourselves. Have watched many hours of CBeebies today!

At least it is the weekend tomorrow so dh will be around to entertain the children and I might get some rest. I am now actually hoping not to go into labour until 3pm tomorrow as we have friends coming for lunch, who I have not seen for 6 years. However, have just eaten a curry, so maybe things will get going overnight. Hope something happens for everyone else who is now more than 9 months pregnant!

sweetkitty · 11/07/2008 22:12

yey purplejenny great to hear from you congratulations on the birth of Florence, will she get Florrie or Flo for short or are you going with Florence? Glad the section went well and wow the SPD is gone must be bliss.

Minnie - keep thinking that then it all stops. Know what you mean about about getting the life run out of you and yours are even younger than mine, they will be so close though it will be lovely, I wanted mine closer but it wasn't to be. Still 4 years start to finish isn't too much of a gap.

Well I finished my baby blanket tonight whoohooit's pink and lovely now just need a baby to go in it.

Poledra · 11/07/2008 23:16

Congratulations Disneystar, Polyxene and Purplejennyrose! Sounds like you had quite a time of it Disney, but the important thing is Samuel is here now and adorable .

No signs here - I know I'm not overdue yet but I am not keen on induction, and they don't want me to go much over 40 weeks, so willing the baba out now. Hate pineapple, forgot all about raspberry leaf tea, so may have to try and persuade dh into a bit of how's yer father - can you tell I'm really keen on the idea?

Poledra · 11/07/2008 23:17

BTW, is RUMPEL still MIA?

EEC · 12/07/2008 09:22

She's gorgeous purplejennyrose! WSell done. You sound like you're coping marvelously!

Curry and pinapple last night but nothing happening! DH laughed when I suggested the other method!

MINNIE1 · 12/07/2008 09:24

Sweetkitty
4 years start to finish is good going, i can see how close DDs are now and love that. Sure is hard work but will be worth it. The next few months you will be getting stronger and have your body all to yourself.. Cant wait to have that bit back even if my tummy/boobs/nether regions will never be the same...

Was up last night and though it was all starting, needed the loo TMI but had a good clean out... Pains were coming and going but nothing!!! must have been the apple crumble i eat last night!!!!!

Off to do the shopping with DDs, once i get dressed and get them dressed.. Going to buy myself a treat cause i could'nt get out of bed this morning. I had to roll over get on all fours and back out!! SO SORE and had a good cry for myself...

sweetkitty · 12/07/2008 09:50

Morning all nothing new here had goods nights sleep though no BHs. Am quite resigned to the fact that she's not coming for a good few days now and feel a bit better think it was all the excitement of the false labours during the week gave me false hope, still we have 10 days to get her out herself before the dreaded induction so plenty of time still. I do think all the old wives tales are a load of rubbish, it's the baby who sends the hormones out to trigger labour and I don't think anything we can do will speed it up, doesn't stop us trying though.

Minnie - my first two are 4 and 2 1/2 now and very close I hope this LO doesn't feel too left out, I think she will be the baby forever mothered by the other two. They are so excited about meeting their sister though, DD1 keeps telling her to come out as she wants to see what she looks like. I think a good cry is always in order we are walking hormones right now.

Right who is going to have a baby this weekend?

rumpel - I reckon she has had one by now a little boy

butterfly - is looking quite hopeful on the overdue thread

justjules - has been MIA for a wee while hope she is OK and just too busy with her little girl

anyone else?

gillythekid · 12/07/2008 10:28

Congratulations to purpleJR I want to have a baby this weekend please, I'm feeling ridiculously pregnant and can't remember the last time I slept for 2 hours without weeing or trying to turn. I'm ready NOW.
Hope all is well with all.

ButterflyMcQueen · 12/07/2008 10:29

sk are you me???

i feel sort of less hopeful but better this morning

walking on eggshells yesterday was awful - waitng -wondering

today i am thinking it will be monday now....feel better

probably means it will be today!

min912 · 12/07/2008 11:17

Morning, congrats to disney, poly and jenny!! I must be feeling better today because I'm not thinking 'and what about ME??' - or at least not as much as usual. Knackered though, woke up at 5am for wee and then couldn't get back to sleep, decided I was hungry so had breakfast, thought I might as well have a bit of a tidy/trim in the ladygarden region - i think my logic is that if it's a more hospitable/welcoming area then that might help things - anyway, didn't wash off the cream properly so it was a bit burny, ended up having to have a shower and then got about an hour's sleep before DH got DS up. But otherwise I am feeling unusually good and have even practised swaddling on a teddy (didn't use any with DS last time).

DH was out last night for a works thing and came back really late as he got pulled over by the police for 'driving erratically'!! Scored 0 on the breathometer but they said he nearly hit the kerb a couple of times. To which he could only reply 'My wife says I drive too close!'. Not sure what is more annoying, not being listened to the first hundred times I told him or now being in the 'told you so' position and trying to bite my tongue!!

morning ladies.
Nothing doing here either. I have resigned myself to being pregnant forever.

Agony with SPD last night and today - my own fault for going to town and then petsmart with DD2 and DP - offered to follow DD2 round while DP chose fish ...but of course DD2 wanted to get all the cuddly dogs beds off the shelves and lie in them! So lots of chasing, bending, lifting etc.
