WaitingGirl - didn't mean to diss the Whittington and it sounds like you have good reccommendations - what I said is based on the view of one person I know who went there, so hardly scientific...Don't panic about not feeling stuff. Read of someone only last night in my magazine, who didn't feel a peep until 22 weeks. It seems quite common.

Chutney, I shall be all ears...

Maybe we should all add where we are having the babies, name of hospital or home (or is that too much hard work) to the list, and then people can see if there's anyone at the same one. Not being London-centric about this either - still interested in hearing of other's experiences. For instance, I know Hatty is up in Yorkshire - are you going to Jimmy's? Anyone care to praise or diss the care they have received so far? St Mary's have been smashing so far but you can never tell!

Waitinggirl try not to worry. I have not felt this baby move much (and it is my third) I had felt my son move loads by now and I am 20 weeks. Found out at my scan that I have an anterior placenta and I think you tend to feel movement less, so maybe you have one too!!

Chutney hope you manage to move hospitals if you have had a bad experience at Kings. I am 20 weeks and had my scan there yesterday, but perhaps I had mine earlier because of my previous history. Have to say I have only had scans and counselling there and to me they have been absolutely amazing, but I did not have to give birth there. I honestly do not know how I would have coped with the loss of my baby 3 years ago without the support they gave me.

I and most of my friends went to the Whittington. It's not especially glam but they look after you pretty well, especially if things go wrong and their specialists generally seem excellent. My consultant in particular was amazing.

I think all of the London hospitals are much of a muchness in terms of intervention, busy shifts and horribly busy wards tbh, it's just the stresses of a big city.

Bran flakes are good for iron as well, plus wholegrain cereals and pulses - my iron levels were low last time around and I craved lentils - I'm doing the same this time so maybe they are a little low again.

I just crave carbs - 24 hours a day! Bread, jacket potatoes - you name it!

An updated list would be a great idea - I struggle with my tired brain to remember when everyone is due etc. I'm not at Jimmy's, although I've heard good things about it! I doubt anyone would have heard of our little local hospital!

But it'd be interesting to know where people are having babies, if they wanted to say, what they think they're having etc- is that called a prediction thread? I'm sure I've seen them on active convos...

Well, for all our plans, I bet statistically at least one of us is bound to give birth in a taxi or somewhere funny!

Hi everyone, not had chance to log on for a while so I hope you're all well? My thoughts are with minster, so moved by her story and can't even start to imagine what her and her DH are going through.

I'm another one without cravings, although I'm considering having some for cake! I did throw a bit of a strop with my DH the other week though, when he wouldn't let me have a yogurt cause it was a couple of days out of date and it was the last one, so I couldn't have another. I won and ate it and everything was fine (although he insisted on smelling and tasting it first - bless him).

Veggie LOL at DH getting booted in the chin, I can't wait for DP to be able to feel the kicks !
waiting I was unsure whether the feelings I had were movement or not and only started feeling them after 18 weeks. they have been on and off - sometimes nothing for 5 days, but scan was fine yesterday so obviously nothing to worry about. I'm sure you'll feel something soon or like majormoo said maybe position of placenta stopping you feel the wriggler It was mad at the scan yesterday as sonographer said baby was head down then moved into breech and then spun round - I couldn't feel a thing !!
Am very of the London meet - think I'll have a wee Scotland meet on my own !!

Congratulations for the successful scans and good luck for those coming up. I had my anomaly scan last week before I moved back here and all seems to be fine, we didn't find out the sex though as we also want it to be a surprise.

Have eaten about 10 toffees today and feel very guilty. Wish I was craving grapes or something

Hello - can I join in the fun please? I'm new to mumsnet but have had it recommended by several mates and it looks like an essential source of distraction from work (erm, I mean vital information!)

So to introduce myself; I'm 32, this is my first pregnancy, had the 20 week scan today and everything is going fine. Though apparently the baby's abdominal diameter is considerably higher up the %s than its other stats - all the cakes I've eaten have gone straight to the bay! We decided against finding out what it is, our spare room is painted blue so whatever the baby is it will have a blue room... I live in Cambridge, work for the university, and am called jumpjockey because even though I can't ride, I'd really like to be a jump jockey one day!

First one for me as well, I am due on 18th Dec, scan is also on the 1st august like lots of you, fingers crossed.

According to nuchal scan mine is probably a boy...and intend to find out next week!

Beans I'm 28 so don't freak out too much! Don't think I'll get another anomaly scan as I already had one last week before I moved. Are you going to the London meet up?
