I'm in too!

littleducks · 11/02/2008 21:29

I think i might come if thats ok, have wanted to come to other meet ups but never made it, now i see others are bringing toddlers i think iw ill brave it!

PurlyQueen · 11/02/2008 21:34

Count me in - I just have to waddle to my local tube station!

MarchMum · 18/02/2008 02:43

re: showery thing...these events suually have cake, games and presents so low key version can be the ever present cake of which i am sure we are assured. and then if evryone is game, we can each bring something to pass on (doesn't have to be new - a dulpicate gift, a book you are done reading, etc), wrap it up and then we can trade and each take home a present. the game bit i'll organize - won't be too cheesy I promise but it's a surprise!

JFly · 18/02/2008 10:36

Ooh, like your idea marchmum. Very fun.

littleducks · 18/02/2008 18:14

Could someone give me directions? As i know i will never get around to it, which is nearest tube stop? I assume from there it will be clearly marked.

Also who is bringing toddlers, as i am still deciding about dd (though would fancy a day to myself!)

Glammama · 18/02/2008 18:21

Not sure I'll be able to make it as I'm not very mobile these days. Which I'm sad about. And the baby shower sounds great. My Canadian friend threw one for me just after DD was born (impossible to organise pre-birth.) Hopefully I will find some energy somewhere.

My DD is 7 so if I did come and I hadn't palmed her off somewhere that would be one child. She's slightly more predictable than a toddler though. I certainly wouldn't have a problem with toddlers coming though.

derah · 18/02/2008 18:23

Definitely don't think I'll make it as my mum is coming over and we're taking DD swimming. Sorry!

turtle23 · 19/02/2008 10:41

As Marchmum will be recovering from giving birth I will take the lead here. Could everyone bring along something wrapped and we'll do the "giving ourselves a baby shower" bit?
Could we have a revised list of who's coming?

So, we need to bring a little pressie? My useless pregnant brain struggles here. Have you all met before? I was going to come to the last one but didn't end up making it/chickened out a little bit. Are we meeting in the cafe yes?

turtle23 · 21/02/2008 14:26

Doesn't need to be a proper pressie...can be a good baby book or whatever..just thought it might be kind of nice. Don't worry if you dont want to/forget!
Yes, meeting in the cafe of Tate Modern at 1030.

Think it sounds a lovely idea turtle - kind of like Secret Santa? Or do I need to get something for a particular person?

I've been without internet so I will nip out and get something this afternoon!

turtle23 · 21/02/2008 17:56

not for a particular person.

derah · 21/02/2008 21:03

Oh, now I'm not sure again!!! Mum isn't coming until Sat, so technically I'm free and would love to come. Buuuuuuut, not sure I could cope with London transport and 2.6 yo DD!! If Merryberry is bringing a toddler too, at least they could amuse each other (keeping DD entertained being my biggest worry about the whole idea).

I just don't knoooooooooow [wails]

Littleducks, are you bringing your LO?

Glammama · 21/02/2008 22:19

Hello all,

I'm sorry but I won't be coming tomorrow as I'm feeling pretty exhausted and not very mobile. I know it's only a bus ride for me but it's the walking as well.I hope you all have a fab time and have a piece of cake (or 3) for me.

Too tirted to type properly so good night. xx
