Hi all I hope no-one minds but I thought I would start a new one... we are having broadband put in (DP has convinced me that I will be able to spend more time on the phone that way ) but still on dial up now so things were getting rather slow on the other thread!

Things OK here. Thought I would do another list to start off the thread in the right way.... looking towards the end!! I've decided that next tuesday would fit in really rather nicely with all my plans, just need baby to agree!! I'm going to try and not expect him to come before due date really, then I may be pleasantly surprised, and if not, I will be fully entitled to moan and whinge. My ankles really can't take much more. They are about the size of my upper calf and that isn't an exageration!

Just enjoyed my first cup of raspberry leaf tea... not all that bad, but then I have drunk all sorts of strange concoctions from places like neal's yard in my time! So now I've drunk that, labour should be iminent, right?!

Hopefully am going to get my hair done this week with the deposit money (if we get it!) from our old flat... I haven't had my haircut since May . Been trying to let it grow as much as possible, but its been a really slow process. Might have some highlights done too. I've figured I might as well have something about me looking nice, as I don't think anything else will post birth! I have stretchmarks now on my bum, hips, thighs, calves, and really badly on my boobs. Stomach thus far has escaped, but it's these last four weeks which I've heard can really do the damage. Oh well.

Anyway I'll stop my waffling and leave you all in peace! I don't think I've missed anyone on the list, but definately have a pregnancy brain... got stuck half way upside down off the sofa earlier looking for the used lid of my yoghurt pot. I eventually found it in the empty yoghurt pot besides me. Oh dear! Don't think it was a particularly pretty site for DP to be looking at!

Well more congratulations

I'm an odd one out on here at th moment. I'm going through a stage of being quite happy not to have my baby. Ds1 has croup, I have a stinking cold and Dh also has a stinking cold or in his case the flu and hes about to die. I'm off to my parents next week for a week in the hope that the law of the sod will mean I go into labout while there.
Good Luck to those still waiting

gingernut · 08/11/2004 16:55

Well, it seems beckswith3 was busy having that baby see here .

Wonder how Flossam's getting on.

So, no-one has any ideas about my tingling bum? It's still at it .

Riebee · 08/11/2004 17:44

Flossam- how exciting
Hope to hear news soon
Good luck

collision · 08/11/2004 19:16

Ooh Flossam you lucky thing! We were due on the same day and now you are in labour!

Does Twinkie only have internet access at work? I was thinking that might be why she hasnt posted for a while as she is probably on maternity leave.

No news here. More boring test results to collect tomorrow and a heart test (routine) for the baby on Wednesday. One more routine urine test and then that should be it.

Dont think my tummy can stretch anymore. I look like a have a beach ball up my jumper and dont look PG from the back which is good. Should be easier to get back into shape after the baby is born. I am so full of baby I am finding it hard to eat which is NOT like me at all. Is anyone else the same?

bunny2 · 08/11/2004 19:30

No, Im still eating like a horse.

So, no news from Flossam ... I wonder if she is in the throwes of labour right now.

gingernut, I think the baby might be pressing on a nerve end which would account for your discomfort. dont worry, it'll pass after the baby's born

arwenevenstar · 08/11/2004 19:41

Yes could be a nerve end.
I sometimes get the bizarrest of feelings as if she is poking the cervix with her fingers (Weird emoticon here!!!) Shame she can't actually work out which is the "open" button though!!

I am now at that sort of spaced out phase where I can't actually get my head round it that the time is really here and it really can be any day now and she really is (well according to the "labia" picture we were shown) is a girlie too......

I think I need to have this baby NOW!!!!

Congrats to Beckswith3 too if you come back on here for a nosey!

vivie · 08/11/2004 21:33

arwen - snap about the fingers / cervix feeling - isn't it just the weirdest sensation???
Wonder how flossam's getting on....
I'm still eating like a piggie too although the toothache is slowing me down a little (not nearly enough though).

gingernut · 08/11/2004 23:29

Good luck for tomorrow, eidsvold .

eidsvold · 09/11/2004 08:47

wwell saw the consultant today and the baby is has gone from being 1/2 engaged to not engaged at all and even bigger than expected...

SO

unless something happens beforehand I am having a caesar first thing Monday morning 15/11.

bit disappointed but am able to come home sooner than expected if no complications.... and the 6 weeks recovery period is no longer the deal - should be right for driving sooner.

Am having my 'named' consultant do the surgery - very lovely man who I feel very confident with - he even expressed that he knew I would be disappointed with having the caesar and acknowledged what a big step it was for me to make the decision. Also - trained in the UK and worked for ages in the Uk before emigrating with his aussie wife to Aus.... ( sounds familiar )

Riebee · 09/11/2004 12:15

ahh eidsvoid- even though you must be disappointed, just think you will have your little one very soon.
Hope everything goes really well for you, will be thinking of you.
Good luck

libb · 09/11/2004 12:18

Flossam! our computer died over the weekend and then you come over all drama queen on me! how are things? I assume you are busy right now but I have all my body bits crossed for you darling xxx

Good luck to all you other November mums too, it is brilliant!! xxx

bunny2 · 09/11/2004 12:26

eidsvold, I hope you dont have to wait till next Monday. You still have plenty of time for things to happen naturally. Im glad your doctor is a good one.

No news from Flossam?? Cant believe we havent had a November baby since last week.

arwenevenstar · 09/11/2004 15:52

I have just come back from hospital too, I am also still only 1.5cms. So I have the dreaded induction booked for next Wednesday evening 17th. Again, like Eidsvold, I really hope it doesn't come to that, cos it'll probably mean I won't get my waterbirth AGAIN, but at least there is an end date and I can work to that date.

feeling a tad depressed now though so will sign off for a while 'til I find my sense of humour again

Flossam · 09/11/2004 18:13

I made it! Just got home with baby. All well, a few bits tied up shall we say! Will post more when have two arms and don't feel quite so neglectful! glad everyone seems ok! xx

PicadillyCircus · 09/11/2004 18:16

Congratulations Flossam . Was wondering if your DS (who I think shares my DS's name) was going to arrive on DS's birthday (November 22nd) but looks like he was in too much of a hurry to meet you

collision · 09/11/2004 19:15

CONGRATS FLOSSAM!! Am very jealous but need more info!! Boy/girl? Name? Weight? Natural? Epidural?

You lot who have had babies are making me laugh because I come on here every day to see who has produced and you make it sound like you have nipped to Tescos and are back home! 'Got baby and now home feeding it and watching TV blah blah.' Maybe it isnt such a big deal and I should just get on with it. I cant seem to plan anything for after the birth.....just gearing myself up!

Hope all goes well Eidsvold.
Bunny.....how you doing?

bunny2 · 09/11/2004 20:22

Flossam, what sort of announcement was that???? We need DETAILS. Many congratulations to you and baby. Can we have the gory details soon?

Hi Collision, ta for asking. I'm fine. Dh has a cold and like Bronze's dh, thinks he is dying so he's no bloody help at all. And my Mum is going out with frineds again .. dont resent her social life but an offer of some helps here and there wouldnt go amiss. As you can tell I am a bit p'd off. Also baby is still back to back so unless it turns soon I ma in for a long and painful labour.

Arwen, hope you reconver your sense of humour soon. It's hard isnt it??

gingernut · 09/11/2004 21:33

Congratulations Flossam! Of course, I'm mightily envious that you got to go early . Tell all soon please!

arwen and eidsvold, sorry you are both feeling a bit fed up that things aren't happening. But as you say, the end is in sight.

lol collision, I thought that too about these birth stories! I promise to make mine sound horrendous if you like (even if I have to make it up!).

Re my tingling bottom, I did wonder if it was something to do with the way the baby's lying. It's still doing it, although if I do my pelvic floors it seems to stop - good reminder to keep doing them! So maybe it's just the baby pressing down on the pelvic floor (probably a sign that everything is about to give way!). I did a Google to see if I could come up with any other ideas and all I could find were descriptions of rather revolting STDs....I hope it's not any of those and I certainly don't see how it could be .

Awww bunny, men, what are they like??

eidsvold · 09/11/2004 21:40

congrats Flossam...

Know when it comes to my turn will spare you the gory details although I am thinking of asking for them to put the screen down this time so I can see the babe being born.

Flossam · 09/11/2004 23:36

Sorry about earlier! Thought I would just pop on quickly to post but ended up reading all your posts!

Right ok, well as you know my waters broke at 6am, not a lot happened then! So went in to day assessment unit, and they told me the usual drill, and to go in this morning if nothing else happened to be induced. So I left there and went on a mission to get tens machines, more maternity pads and nursing bras. Got home at about half four/ five and contractions started about half an hour later. Bath and tens machine, but by the time I put on the tens I was too uncomfortable to read the instructions properly, and I was having contractions every 4 minutes so booked taxi.

Think I got to hospital about 8.40 and the midwife didn't think I was in established labour. That meant no gas and air. I wasnt a very happy bunny as I was in loads of pain. Another midwife came to see me and decided that I was in establised labour and could have the gas and air. They had been reluctant to do an internal as my waters had broken, but when they did, lo and behold! 10cms! I'd been telling them I wanted to push since soon after I got there!

Don't think pushing lasted long at all (although everything is a little muddled from the gas!) and Benjamin was born at 11.14 with me (sort of!) looking out to Big Ben on a birthing ball. He weighs 7lbs 7 and is gorgeous! DP is in love and so am I. Breast feeding is going ok I think at the moment although he is a impatient little sir and I don't get there quick enough! All in all not bad for around five hours work, but have got stitches in a second degree tear and grazes from the certain little someone who apparently came out waving!!

So thats me, home and so far quite happy! Hope to see some more of you heading off soon. xxxx

PandaBear · 10/11/2004 08:43

Congrats Flossam! I'm very envious, I've also had enough now! Went to the Fetal assessment unit yesterday and have told them that I don't want to be left to go a week overdue before they assess me - so I have an appointment to see my consultant tomorrow. Fingers crossed they'll book me in for breking my waters some day soon.

Good luck to the rest of you.

PicadillyCircus · 10/11/2004 09:27

Just lurking here again - yes our DS's do share the same name (although yours weighed a bit more than mine )

Glad all is going well.

arwenevenstar · 10/11/2004 10:10

Hi just popping in.
Have decided to cheer myself up by making use of my dad being here and am off to have my hair done this afternoon.

He leaves on Saturday and my FIL comes out after the weekend, what's the betting she'll come on the weekend when we won't have back up!!!!!!!!

Feeling a little less peed off (but not much)

Huge congratulations Flossam, reading your posting, sounds like a really nice labour and birth, glad all went well and Benjamin is a gorgeous name, we liked that but wouldn't go with our surname if it got shortened - Ben Bee!!

Put some lavender oil into your bath to help ease your stitches too and take arnica too, this really helped me.

Speak later

bunny2 · 10/11/2004 11:13

Hi Flossam. Congratulations again on your little boy and thanks for the details! Benjamin is absolutely the best boys name ever - my ds is a Benjamin and I just love it.

Arwen and eidsvold, still sending you both labour vibes. I hope it happens soon.

Pandabear, good luck tomorrow.

Quackers · 10/11/2004 20:28

Hi all, Bunny, thinking of you mate!!! Checking almost daily now!!!! Hope you;re ok! xxxxxh
