I got BFP this morning six months to the day after my MC, only 12DPO but so happy. Please pray this one holds on!!!! I am due on June 1 according to OV calendars so have the pleasure of starting this thread.

Anyone else out there or am I the only mental person who tests this early?

Pepperpots my friend had a home birth and she actually ended up in hospital but delivered normally with no pain relief needed and said it was so good to have the midwife there with her throughout. If yur PG is uncomplicated then home births can be good. You can't have an epidural though!

Having said all that I wouldn't have a home birth with my first (don't know if this is your first pp) because I am a big worrier and that would just casue me more worry but it really works for a lot of people.

Check out my beans on my public page (just click on my name and then click on "nh's pictures" at the bottom

Wow nh101 - love the pic. Amazing!!! You must be so excited!

systemsaddict · 18/10/2007 11:04

Wow how fantastic to be able to see them so clearly nh101! Thanks for putting these up!

dylansluckymum · 18/10/2007 11:17

that is absolutely amazing. does make me sort of look forward to the scan on tuesday.

is anyone else feeling like complete crap (for lack of a better word)? ds seems to have completely stopped sleeping. he used to go to bed straight away and maybe wake up once for a beaker and then back to sleep - last night was the worst yet he wouldn't go to sleep without me laying beside him cuddling him and then when i finally left him he only slept about an hour and he just kept waking up. eventually at 3.30am i kicked dp out of our bed (not big enough for all 3 of us) and took him in with me, but he still couldn't go to sleep until after 5! i then slept until 7 when dp had to come in to get ready for work and ds woke up. i feel so stressed and sick and horrible i just don't know how i'm going to cope with this. i know it'll get better when the sickness goes but i need sleep so much i just want to cry!

the worst thing is i can't play with ds or anything and i feel like i'm neglecting him and i just don't know what to do.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 18/10/2007 11:42

Wow, what beautiful clear little beans It made me cry AGAIN! seeing that. Anyone else constantly crying about something??!!!

Just want to ask something......when I did my test on Tuesday I was CD30 (previous were 32 days then 25 days since coming off the pill). The line was VERY STRONG and with ds it was only faint to start with. Just checking that it's probably down to the test and not anything else. My periods have been very light since coming off the pill and when I had miscarriage before ds, I found out I was a month further than I thought as I'd had what I thought was a period when I was pregnant. Also, I've already put on a LOT of weight but then again, I did with ds early on. Also with the high possibility of twins, I suppose I'm just trying to get my head round how strong the line was on Tueday. Anyway....ignore me if you want, I've been in a state since I found out...what to do about this....what to do about that...mostly concerned about how the parents of the children I childmind will take it, have a new baby starting in Jan and they worry me the most!! Bloomin heck, you'd think this wasn't a planned baby!!!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 18/10/2007 11:44

hey, how did that hyperlink get there???!!!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 18/10/2007 11:47

Strange!!! It's gone now, they were on other threads too with other posters so I think it's more a thing on my laptop as all disappeared now - just ignore me!!

nh101andhertwinbeans · 18/10/2007 12:10

DLM - I'm sure no harm will come to DS, don't beat yourself up. Look after yourself! Hope you feel better soon.

goingfor3 · 18/10/2007 12:12

Morning all,

I saw the midwife this morning and she was really lovely. SHe wrote my whole history down which means I don't have to explain my situation to everyone new I meet. She booked my 12 week scan for 22nd November which seems so far away but I have one 2 weeks before that at epu so I shouldn't complain. On the way home I saw a brand new Maclaren Techno XT for £25 in a charity shop, it's the one I really wanted and bargins like that don't come along very often so I bought it. I told myself that I am buying it to put on ebay but will hold on to it incase we need to for baby, that way I'm not tempting fate

nh101andhertwinbeans · 18/10/2007 12:14

PMSL G43 - you have done the right thing. What a bargain!

goingfor3 · 18/10/2007 12:14

DLM - Dylan will be fine playing by himself, don't worry about it.

NH - great to see a pic of the twins!

debinaustria · 18/10/2007 12:44

NH - great picture of your beans!!

DLM - I feel like crap too, no motivation to do anything and we're self employed so it's not good!!Got tons of decorating to do and no energy for it. This morning I walked the boys to school, got back, watched TV, went back to school to see ds in a performance, came back, went to sleep on the settee, made an easy lunch and I'm knackered again.

BSL - I cried at Location, Location this morning

Deb

Upsidedowncake · 18/10/2007 13:24

nh101 - what a fab picture. so clear. Can they tell about whether they are identical twins or not from the formation of the sac or anything? (Sorry for dumb question, have no idea about this kind of thing!)

Dylan'sMummy - so sorry that Dylan isn't lseeping very weel. He will go back to normal, but it's horrible not having enough sleep. Did you feel horrid before the broken night?

And as for tears, I just bawled down the phone at the nurse who saw me through my ep, and is taking care of me now, when she said 'I;'ve got good news for you'. HCG levels have quadrupled in 4 days.

nh101andhertwinbeans · 18/10/2007 13:43

That's fantastic news Upsidedown! Try not to worry now.. easier said than done. Does that mean it is not ep? When is your scan?

My twins (still seems strange saying that) are non-ideniticals, you can tell cos they both have their own sac. Also I have been on Clomid so we knew if it was multiples it was most probably non-identicals!

emotionalwreck · 18/10/2007 14:17

Hi ladies,

have been invited over by sweetbean. I'm 7 weeks EDD 5th June and I feel like death. This is my second pregnancy and its totally different to the last one.

I've been sick a few times but as the each day goes by I am finding food more and more unpalatable to the point where I must only be getting about 500 calories.

I am overweight (BMI 32) and I had gestational diabetes with dd, so I can expect it again. Just need a bit of support

I've took the rest of the week off sick, much to the chagrin of my manager and some colleagues

Upsidedowncake · 18/10/2007 14:35

Oh dear emotional wrexk. I'm sorry you're having such as bad time. I've read (in one of my 517 baby books, I am such a nut), that the body actually makes you feel sick on purpose as you donb't at an early stage need so many calories. But it's awful feeling sick.

Wow. NH101. so you might have one boy and one girl. So exciting!

My next scan is on Monday 29th. I had one on Monday and they couldn't see anything.

They also couldn't see anything in the tubes and the HCG levels have gone up so much they think it's very unlikely now to be ectopic. Right now I feel very, very lucky.

emotionalwreck · 18/10/2007 14:38

thanks upsidedowncake.

Thats great news about your scan. At the risk of asking you to repeat yourself (cos this thread is massive) when are you due?

sdw70 · 18/10/2007 14:40

Hi everyone - have been lurking for a while since BFP, finally thought I'd say hi.

Am a complete newbie - first pregnancy, EDD 2 June, and have no idea what to expect as I'm not from the UK, so have less familiarity with NHS process, etc. Went to see GP a couple of weeks ago and she was pretty blase: 'choose your hospital, you'll get a letter from them around week 10 / 11, buy a book, I'll see you again around 28 weeks'

So... I guess I wait - though driving me crazy! Just want to know it's really real. And driving dh crazy, as every day I tell him 'I don't really feel pg' - so far so good, only a little tired, though feeling ok is stressful in itself!

Introductory rant over I promise!

nh101andhertwinbeans · 18/10/2007 15:19

Hi emotionalwreck - sorry things are so tough but I have to disagree with upsidedown, I can't believe that sickness in pregnancy is so you don't eat too many calories. You need to try to get 2,000 calories a day, with a good lot of protein in there. Whatever you can force down, do it!

But lots of women do not eat much in their first 12 weeks due to sickness and their babies come to no harm. So just do your best and I am sure all will be fine.

Which book was that in upsidedown - I'd be interested to see it!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 18/10/2007 15:27

Just wanted to add that I'm eating for England and only got my BFP on Tuesday (CD30) so I think my body is TELLING me I need the calories (as don't normally eat much)! having said that, my BF was terribly sick for a lot of her pregnancy and she was fine so don't worry too much. {{{ hugs }}} for you feeling so ill though And there's me worrying because I don't feel very pregnant atm and I did with ds at this stage.

emotionalwreck · 18/10/2007 15:40

Aha BSL, but I didn't feel pregnant (translated as as sick as a pig) until the end of last week (6 weeks) so don't count on it not appearing!

But of course, I'm not wishing it on you or anything!

My BF ate 25 chicken nuggets a day with ketchup, and other horrendous processed foods throughout her first pregnancy - she gained 4 stone. But with her second she couldn't get enough of green vegetables - she used to eat raw sprouts at her desk. The smell was horrifying

Kif · 18/10/2007 15:45

nh101 - I've read about sickness being a deliberate safety symptom. the idea was not to do with eating less calories per se, but about discouraging you from being adventorous with food. That would reduce your likely hood of poisoning - which is potentially damaging in the first three months. Your body would prefer you to live three months on dry toast and flat Sprite, rather than dining out on prawns and offal .

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 18/10/2007 15:58

EW - don't scare me!!! I don't want to be really ill obviously but even more so because I'm a childminder and I don't want parents knowing til I'm 3 months but if I'm chucking up a lot, it may because obvious [panic] I really hope you feel better soon!!! Btw, I put on 3 stone with ds and craved all the wrong food yet a colleague at work couldn't get enough fruit!!
