Hi
Is anyone else due in January 2021? I took a pregnancy test this morning and got a positive. This makes me 4w2d today. I am absolutely terrified! I have been ttc for 3.5 years and am under the care of the fertility clinic but haven't actually started any treatment yet as I had a laparoscopy earlier this year for an edometrioma and endometriosis. This is technically our second pregnancy as I got pregnant two years ago but miscarried at 5.5 weeks. Havent told my partner yet as I don't want to get him excited in case it ends in a miscarriage again.

Ukbentley · 05/06/2020 20:05

Confused88 · 09/06/2020 16:25

Baby number 3 had 2 scans already all is looking good little heartbeat flickering away. Nausea is horrific its 24/7 i wake up from it and I'm so tired cant remember being like this with the other 2 so early. Any nausea tips welcome I have sea bands tried crackers mints ginger.

Ukbentley · 09/06/2020 18:33

Well I tried the bands too and have been sick for 3 weeks now, breakfast is a no go for me as I can't keep it down,at 1pm I had half a ham sandwich left it and hour had the other half then 2 plain crackers and hour later and for first time never been sick and felt better also I now can only drink water I am off everything else, was your last 2 boys or girls? Congratulations

Confused88 · 11/06/2020 20:21

Last 2 were both boys craved sweets with them both. No sickness or symptoms with first and hungry nausea with 2nd in 2and and 3rd trimester this time is constart nausea all day all unless I'm lying down or sucking a mint.

Ukbentley · 11/06/2020 22:59

I will have to try the mints as this is getting a bit unbearable

Confused88 · 12/06/2020 10:44

Yeah I'm finding it unbearable I dont want to be eating all day and put on weight like last time but marmite on toast seems to curb the nausea for 30mins to an hour.

Ukbentley · 12/06/2020 13:16

I had my first midwife appointment this morning,I also don't be want to be putting on loads and feeling uncomfortable, midwife said slimming world will maintain your starting weight straight to the end but I'm feeling to sick for that just now plus it's a lot of cooking so hopefully will feel better in a couple of weeks and can start, she also said it can be that it's a different sex if morning sickness is worse this time round compared to last time so maybe a boy for meSmile

Lilo08 · 15/06/2020 22:29

I’m just under 8 wks and have already gained 6lbs. My jeans feel tight and uncomfortable.
I gained a lot of weight in my first pregnancy and really wanted to avoid that but it looks as though it’s going the same way.
I feel really down. Any tips?

Ukbentley · 15/06/2020 23:09

I had my first midwife appointment and she suggested to me slimming world to maintain start weight of pregnancy until the end

Lilo08 · 16/06/2020 07:13

Will look into slimming world thank you.
I have always done 18.6 intermittent fasting or 5.2 so something new feels like a challenge already.
Other than the weight gain I feel fine.

How is everyone else doing?

Ukbentley · 16/06/2020 11:31

I'm feeling better sickness is starting to get a little better, tiredness left last week but it's came back this week, just hoping scam goes ok in a couple of weeks and I can start to enjoy this pregnancy

Ukbentley · 16/06/2020 11:32

Scan goes well😊

Lilo08 · 16/06/2020 16:49

Good to hear things are getting better for you.
I have a long way to go for my scan. Midwife phone appointment in a couple of weeks

Good luck with your scan * @Ukbentley*

Ukbentley · 16/06/2020 17:23

Thanks,I found it's starting to go a bit quicker now I found out at 3 weeks 4 days and it just dragged until nearly 9 so hoping next 2 weeks go quick I find pregnancy so long at points then before you know it your baby is here

Ukbentley · 28/06/2020 21:42

How is everyone getting on

cantstandbingbunny · 12/07/2020 10:30

Hi everyone. Late to the party but can I join. Due my second baby on 2nd of January. I already have a 2 yr old little boy. I'm dreading an early baby during Xmas/new year mentalness!! How is everyone feeling now?

Ukbentley · 12/07/2020 16:32

Hi congratulations,I'm due 6th of January but think might be an elective section so probably a week earlier and my little girl was born on 29th December so I think they will be close, are you finding out what you are having

SK28 · 13/07/2020 10:07

Hello! I am 11+4 and anxiously awaiting my scan which isn't till 13 weeks. I have 2 girls, aged 5 and 3. I had early miscarriages in May 2019 and Jan 2020 so just keeping fingers crossed this one sticks - so far definitely more symptoms than the last two. Looking forward to this journey together 🥰

Ukbentley · 13/07/2020 13:44

Praying that everything will be good at your scan,I had a few bleeds this time round one at between 6-7 weeks and another at 11+4 and they did a scan second time and everything was fine they said when you get to that stage it's very unlikely for anything to happen well that's what they told me anyway,I'm only just relaxing abut now and just trusting that all is well as I found I could put myself mad but sometimes you just can't help it your just so desperate for everything to be ok,I also had different symptoms this time round severe sickness, bloating, constipation and I've been putting on medication for it all also medication for heartburn then at my scan they said I have to go on aspirin the rest of the pregnancy as my last baby was only just over 5lbs so I have been a really worried if all this medication is safe for my baby but I have asked continuously and they have said that it is all fine so I'm just having to let it go,remember to let us know how your scan goes,I'm finding out if it's a boy or girl in about 9 days

SK28 · 13/07/2020 20:53

Thank you @Ukbentley. Fiers crossed all fine. I think I'll be due very close to my eldest's birthday towards the end of January, although I'll have ELCS (after 1 EMCS and 1 ELCS) so will probably be more like mid-Jan.

@Lilo08 I had to get out my maternity jeans last week at only 10 weeks. When it's been warm I've been fine in my usual maxi dresses but it turned colder and I found my jeans just too uncomfortable. I've just subscribed to the Mutu programme that's been recommended to me, and once I've had my scan I'm going to start exercising again - just home workouts a few times a week. But third time around I've resigned myself to everything expanding quicker than the first two times...

Ukbentley · 13/07/2020 22:14

I had an emergency section first time and was a terrible experience is an elective section any better? Some days I fit into my jeans when the bloating leaves and they feel comfortable but days like today I can't do the button up,I'm 15 weeks on Wednesday and I feel my stomach is looking like it has popped a bit now

Lilo08 · 15/07/2020 09:05

I am around 12wks and have my scan tomorrow. It’s going soooo slowly. I have been well generally and the bloating seems to come and go like @Ukbentley i definitely need to go up a size soon or walk around with unbuttoned jeans Grin

Fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow

Ukbentley · 15/07/2020 11:10

Good luck for tomorrow I'm sure everything will be fine, the bloating is terrible,I found it started to go a lot quicker after my scan

SK28 · 15/07/2020 15:58

@Ukbentley An elective was a totally different experience. With my first, I was in labour for about 36 hours so recovering from that as well as surgery was a lot. My recovery wasn't as bad as other people I know but obviously the whole experience was stressful. With my second I agonised about whether to opt for VBAC or ELCS. Eventually I decided I mostly wanted to avoid another emergency CS and the only way to guarantee that was an ELChS! We were lucky and were the first on the day so not lots of waiting around, she was born at 9.44am. I walked to theatre, my husband joined me after the spinal block, the team introduced themselves and we chatted about baby names and stuff. The midwife told my husband to take in a camera and we have the most incredible photo of her being born. I was home by 2pm the next day, I didn't take anything stronger than ibuprofen and paracetamol once out of hospital and I felt I recovered so much better and quicker. So for me it was very positive. I have moments of sadness that I haven't experienced 'natural' birth and lots of friends have had successful VBACs, so I'm not advocating one over the other! But an ELCS is very different from EMCS.
