I'm fine at the moment - have chatted to the hospital and will be staying at home for a bit yet.

I am using contraction master already and currently timing them every 5 mins or so for around 45 seconds. I'm still in denial at the moment though ....

I've got to hang on for my friend to come back from the doc's anyway, as she is looking after DS. I hope they don't keep her waiting too long

Annie75 · 30/07/2007 16:11

Ooh, how exciting! Stay at home as long as possible and talk to us . Or if you don't, good luck and we're really looking forward to hearing your news xx

katybird · 30/07/2007 16:12

Good luck Wash!! So pleased for you.

katybird · 30/07/2007 16:14

Oh, and I'd imagine if you can still chat on MN you're probably ok!

bananabump · 30/07/2007 16:15

So are the contractions painful at this point or just uncomfortable? It's just that you sound so calm and composed!

tokentotty · 30/07/2007 16:16

This is so exciting Wash ! I think you're being fantastically brave and strong so far, good for you.

Erm, do we have a post-natal thread yet?

Washersaurus · 30/07/2007 17:09

I'm still hanging on in here..had to look after DS as he is all hot and bothered - I feel a bit bad as he is teething with his back teeth and I have just had to dose him up with calpol and teething granules and drop him off at my friends house . I hope he is OK.

So now have no idea how far apart/long my contractions are [hmmm]. They are def more intense now than earlier though. I hope this doesn't go on all night

SweetyDarling · 30/07/2007 17:18

Wash, your son will be absolutley fine!
How are you getting to hospital?

Washersaurus · 30/07/2007 17:28

Right,we are just of to the hospital now (probably to be sent home again knowing my luck). DH is driving and it is only 5 mins away, so will soon find out what is happening.

Speak to you all soon (fingers crossed)

tokentotty · 30/07/2007 17:29

I promised Jem I'd start her a postnatal thread when she could let me know what she'd like it called. Unless anyone else has any suggestions, it's just that I thought it would be nice that our first regular, ante-natal poster should perhaps be the one to give us a title. Although at this rate Wash could be next and have an idea for a thread !!

Are you managing to keep calm Wash ? Is everything organised and ready for when you need to head in ?

GillL · 30/07/2007 20:19

Evening all. Looks like I missed out on all the excitement this afternoon. Hope Washy is nursing her new baby by now.

I had the most awful afternoon. Went to B&Q to buy a new blind for the bathroom. Dd wanted a wee so I got her portable potty out of the boot. I hadn't zipped up my bag properly and my phone fell out so I put it back in and went over to ASDA. Realised as I was at the checkout that my purse must have fallen out as well so I said that I would go back to the car to get it. I couldn't find it!! A nice lady in B&Q helped me look and then radio'd to control to warn all the other shops in the retail park not to accept my card. I phoned dh in tears who was on his way home and he came to help me. Dd was so good and really sweet - she was wiping my tears away. I've cancelled my debit card and don't have any credit cards so it's just store loyalty cards I've got to sort out plus my medical exemption. What a nightmare!

pink - it's just dawned on me that banana is due on the day of my sister's wedding. We'll be travelling up on the 3rd and coming back on 5th. I'll be at my sisters for most of the 4th whilst getting ready and should be able to get online but can you send me your mobile number just in case I can't get to a computer?

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 30/07/2007 20:22

I will email you now gill x

bananabump · 30/07/2007 20:26

Wouldn't worry too much Gill, he's not likely to pop out on the dot!

What a nightmare day, hope you're a little less stressed this evening. Your dd sounds like she takes good care of you!

Wonder how washy's getting on? She might be pushing as I speak! Sooooo I want my little bundle already!
