Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I don't care anymore, I'm a fat bitch and I'll deal with it in a few weeks! More cookies for me I think! I really want to make a malteasers tiffin! Might have to go to sainsburys tomorrow and get some ingredients, could be my post labour treat!

Seriously, the malteser tiffin, it's like crack!

DH bought home loads of kinder eggs that were at the end of their sell by date, he bought home about 12 last week, and 6 yesterday and I scoffed the lots, plus last week's lot gave me a taste for them so I bought some Kinder Maxi bars and I ate 2 yesterday and 1 plus a kinder egg this morning! Yum!

Making malteser tiffin again tomorrow! I'm just making the most of these last two weeks coz I've told myself that once the baby is born it's all going to stop!

I tell you what I have bought for my labour bag though, and sounds minging but isn't - Lavender chocolate. It's from waitrose and it is gorgeous milk chocolate with lavender oil in it, thought it might be calming for labour.

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 13:19

I have 2 packets of chocolate hob nobs in mine.

I haven't used the 'calming' excuse yet but I might

bumperlicious · 11/06/2007 13:21

Oh, yeah, I also have a packet of flapjack and some rice crispie cakes as snacks in case I don't get fed properly!

TALLULAHBELLE · 11/06/2007 13:32

They don't let you eat in labour at our local hosp. How mean is that? Apparently if you beg they'll let you suck on an ice cube. Will be sending my DH out for Thai as soon as I deliver. They can stick their tea & toast!

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 13:34

I'm sorry what

Since when does sucking on a farkin ice cube compare to chocolate a biscuits and flapjacks?!

I would hide food in my bra and wait til they're not looking

TALLULAHBELLE · 11/06/2007 13:39

Good plan - but won't the chocolate melt? Am sure labour can get a bit sweaty!!!

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 13:41

yes ... you might have to revisit food selections. Chocolate would be messy - as would soup.
M&M's? They melt in the mouth - not in the bra - or something.

bumperlicious · 11/06/2007 13:46

Am considering taking a cool bag...

Seansfatlass · 11/06/2007 13:47

Just back from hospital and they have bought my induction forward to tomorrow now - am to phone at 8am and check for time but they scanned me today and say the fluid is reduced. Bile acid has gone down tho. Don't know wether to laugh or cry at this point! Anyway had sweep and 'bishops score' - apparently cervix fairly unfavourable scoring 1 (score goes 0-3 & 3 being the best)

Sorry to hear Catkin has pre eclampsia - sending lots of love and (((hugs))) to you and baby Catkin

My hospital is the same - no food - got told off for eating sherbet lemons when went in with DD! apparently it just in case of emergency section!

DG try try not to worry about induction I was induced last time - had gelx2 nothing doing (and was 40+3) and then they put me on the drip. No problems! DD was fine and with the pethidine and gas and air contractions weren't half as bad as I thought.

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 13:48

good lord Bumper are you moving in?

And my mum gave me grief because I have packed a sudoku book lol

mytwocents · 11/06/2007 13:51

good luck SFL, think it sounds a bit mean saying your cervix is 'unfavourable'...

mouth watering at thought of pineapple upside down cake mmmmmmmm with custard!!

How does one make maltezer tiffin ? -do i really want to know..?

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 13:51

Hey SFL

What does the unfavourable score mean, will it determine what sort of induction you have?

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 13:53

MTC - check HERE

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 13:54

Whoops I cocked that up, somehow that links to H&A's profile LOL!

Try THIS instead

bumperlicious · 11/06/2007 13:56

malteaser tiffin

Bash up the malteasers a bit though.

mytwocents · 11/06/2007 14:04

wow, looks just like my old classic fridge cake but with smallgeezers as well YUM!

justbeme · 11/06/2007 14:09

Goodluck SFL for tomorrow - we'll be waiting with baited breath for the news!!

Oh my sister just phoned ( the one who I overheard talking about me when she didnt put the phone down). She asked me round for dinner on thursday and I declined 'cos I said im too uncomfy to drive the 50 mile round trip (couldnt be arsed really!!)
Then at the end she said "well have a nice weekend" and I said its only monday - to which she replied "well your hardly likely to phone me before are you?" - God she's so condescending! . She prob only wanted me to go over there so I could take "her" cat carrier that Ive had for the last 15 plus years (my cats now died) and she's getting a kitten soon. I didnt even remember that it was HER carrier FFS!!

Seansfatlass · 11/06/2007 14:11

Yes, TA I think it does. Think I will have upto 3 gels (6 hours apart), they either want it to all kick off from there or just allow the cervix to shorten and open enough to allow them to break my waters, if they can and it hasn't all happened anyway I will be on the drip. Can't have the drip unless your waters have gone apparently.
IF the gel does not allow any of the above I may be offered a 4th at the max and then its a section! Hope not to get to that point as don't fancy the recovery.

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 14:13

Blimey I wasn't aware of all that

Well good luck tomorrow - hopefully the gel should see you right

TALLULAHBELLE · 11/06/2007 14:17

Good luck SFL - hope it goes quickly for you at least the waiting will be over soon.

foxybrown · 11/06/2007 14:18

JBM Oh tell her to "Cock Off" (am loving that phrase TA - never heard it before buy ROFL!).

Families are a pain in the arse. you can't please everyone, so I think you might as well do whatever you want and deal with the fall out rather than the build up to a fight.

We have had naming parties, which is basically a big pissy day in the garden to mark the occasion of the birth of our child. We have 'special people' in their lives. Not so much Godparents, but people who we want to be important to our children. As a rule, families aren't allowed as they are 'special' already (technically). I wanted to ask one of my sisters for DS2, but the other one got upset. Then I wanted to ask the other one for DD, but no 1 sis got upset. So neither of them got to do it. Bollocks to all that!

SFL - fuckittyfuck about tomorrow! Well, hope it all goes well and I'll be sending you positive vibes for a speedy induction, a relaxed labour and a quick birth xx

Glad you mentioned the pearl necklace holly, I did type a post saying "I'll probably get the offer of a pearl one" but deleted it, and I just knew you'd come up with the goods!!

sorry for the long post!

bumperlicious · 11/06/2007 14:31

Hi Foxy!

Good luck with tomorrow SFL - oohh, you're going to have a baby tomorrow!

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 14:34

When you say it like that it's so real isn't it?! Argh it's not even me and I feel nervy

foxybrown · 11/06/2007 14:37

Hey bumper! How are you feeling today? Calm and serene?

Am just finishing off my second Snickers Ice cream in a row. Yep, TA they are doing BOGOF at sainsburys! Top tip!

DD now not too well. She's obviously got what DS2 had and I've got . Went to the doctor. Blimey, he was young and handsome, and fit and had a motorbike .

Am definately experiencing some hormone changes at the mo. My hair is starting to fall out again, am cranky as shit and sweaty. Could this be a sign?

No, didn't think so either.

Am going to do little jobs now, sort photos, change our bed (complete with inco pads), download photos etc etc etc.
