good morning!!! yes I'm still here, where are the rest of us stragglers? still in bed I hope - or better still in labour!!!
that's where I want to be later (please god if you're listening...........?)
midwife appointment at 10.15, where I will hopefully have a sweep, and I'm hoping that SOMETHING will happen this weekend to save me being induced (although I did have a sudden panic last night that the midwife would read my scan date and pack me off to hospital straight away)

anyhoo, hope you guys are all well, will check backlater on
xx

Morning Heidle - STILL here too . I think the absorbtion of bump back into my body has commenced; it must have done by now as the baby is showing no signs of coming out. The only good thing today is that dh does actually get to clear away his desk for the final time today (he's been doing this in anticipation for the past 2 weeks), as if the baby doesn't arrive within the next 3 days I will be in hosp being induced on Monday. I am so pissed off, as I really wanted a nice, calm, non-intervention home birth and I'm going to be so sad if it does not happen. This will be my last baby and I so wanted the birth to be an experience that I controlled, and not medicalised if it could be avoided. I am so disappointed that it looks like it isn't going to turn out that way.

And I need to have a rant now too....we advertised my little car in the local paper, the ad came out today, and at 6.15am (we were asleep) the phone rang. "Sorry to call you so early, was wondering if I could come and look at the car in 40mins time?". WTF???? People!!! Anyway, dh duely got up and met with the guy, and he had the cheek to offer us £1600 (it's advertised for £2300). He was obviously a dealer who would then go on to sell the car for £3k or so. What a f'ing liberty. Needless to say he didn't get the car. Anyway, we've had another 5 people calling since then, I think they're all gonna descend on us at 6pm when dh gets back from work. That'll be fun .

And Ellie - you want my vital stats???!! But I'm still pregnant - do mine really count?? Gonna put them on there anyway to give you all a good laugh .

CD - I didn't receive any photos by email....please can I see Phoebe too?

Yay - congrats Elkie!

Heidle, hope the sweep goes well for you today, sending you labour vibes to get the birth you want. Emmy - cannot believe the cheek of calling anyone that early in the morning!!!

Thanks for the congrats about dh's job - appears that bump may have been waiting for Daddy to get job after all, had a show this morning! No contractions or anything else but am just glad that something seems to be happening...

Dippy, thank you for sharing the photos - your family is gorgeous!!

Ellie, am loving the links to that website, hadn't heard of it before, looks like they have some great stuff.

Have a fab day all...

Elkie - fantastic news, well done honey!

Bumble - weyhey a show!!! I hope something happens for you soon. How many days over are you now?

Lucewheel - Lol at the squelching when removing lilypad, and the flower patterns. Did anyone notice your Madonna-shaped norks? So you reckon they're a good investment then?

maveta · 04/05/2007 10:30

Ooooh great news re. show Bumble!! Hope it all leads to something happening VERY VERY soon!

CONGRAAAAAATS ELKIEDEE! What a quick labour?? Wow. Tomorrow it will have been a week since I had Noah and it feels like so long ago already, how lovely those first hours staring at him and falling in love... thinking of you all xxx

Got to dash, trying desperately to get out of the house to register Noah´s birth.. what a Palava...

MAJOR LABOUR VIBES TO EVERYONE!!!!

Congrats Elkiedee

Good luck Bumble - looks like you could be next

heidle · 04/05/2007 11:04

congratulations elkiedee!!!!!!
fantastic news, that (along with getting my first sweep )has cheered me right up for the day
great name -my ds1 is daniel!

so, stand in midwife today as mine is on holiday, and I just love the stand in - she was fab!! really bright and chatty, totally inspired confidence (unlike the usual one)
she rang the 'big city' hospital to arrange induction for me at 42 weeks (9th) but they're fully booked, and on the 10th, and on the 11th!!! so am booked in for 12th, when I'll be 42 + 5!!!!!
so in between times, I get to go to the local MWL maternity unit (where I'd prefer to end up) for daily CTG monitoring, and sweeps!!
I now feel totally reassurred that I am being looked after, and that everything is being done to help me get the birth I'd ideally prefer.
gosh, after the last couple of days of being anxious, and quite down and thinking I'd be left too long and something awful would happen to my new baby before it was even born - I now feel great!
what a difference a good midwife makes!

am considering a walk to help keep up the pressure on my cervix (apparently already 1-2cm dilated )and hopefully bring on labour, but then again, that sofa does look rather comfy.............

Katy44 · 04/05/2007 11:28

CONGRATULATIONS ELKIEDEE

ooh bumble, hope this is it!

heidle, glad you are feeling reassured, I completely agree with your comment about a good midwife.

Hope everyone is well.

muminasaggytummy · 04/05/2007 11:52

Many congrats Elkiedee!!!

Dippy - those pictures are gorgeous and your girls are beautiful...obviously they take after their Mummy!!!!

Lots of hope that this bank holiday will bring along the rest of our April babies...go Bumble, Heidle, Emmymummy and anyone else I have stupidly forgotten
xx

CaptainDippy · 04/05/2007 12:02

Hello!!

Congratulations!! - To Elkie on the safe arrival of Daniel Patrick - Lovely name, glad everything went well and he is finally here!! Looking forward to hearing more & seeing cutie pics!!

to all those still waiting. [[[hugs]] to you all - praying for a flurry of babies!!!

I got a "failed delivery notice" for quite a few people when I sent out the email containing the pics of Phoebe and my girls etc .... PLEASE let me know if you didn't get it and I'll be sure to send it again ..... Emmy, I'll get onto yours right now!!

Emmymummy - I sincerely hope and pray that bubba comes soon and you get the birth that you want!!

Right, Phoebe needs feeding and so do daddy, mummy & Sophia. Friends taking DD1&2 this PM, we're sorting Birth Announcements and buying curtains.....

CaptainDippy · 04/05/2007 12:05

.... and thank you for all your lovely, kind comments about my beautiful girls ( to MIAST's comment!! ) .....

Emmymummy · 04/05/2007 12:13

CD - still no photos . Have you got the right email address for me claire.markd.....etc?

Right, Heidle you have inspired me to ask for another sweep today as I had a bit of a show last night. MW is coming over at about 4pm today.....pleeeeeaaaasssseee let that set things off. Have been reading about other MNer's induction experiences and I so do not want to go down that route. Am going to get busy hoovering and generally get off my lazy arse so keep myself on my feet and see if gravity will help.

Have a great day all, will keep you posted.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 04/05/2007 12:14

Eddas · 04/05/2007 13:03

Congrats Elkie

Glad all went well with mw Heidle, fingers crossed things kick off soon.

More labour vibes to the rest of you still waiting

heidle · 04/05/2007 13:37

thanks for the labour vibes everyone, I have now convinced myself that something will happen this weekend and am charging up the camera batteries and my mobile as I type.......why am I torturing myself like this? the past 2 weeks of waiting have proved babies don't come just coz you're ready.

enough rambling from me, back to pacing and being hyper-vigilant for labour signs

hope you are all having a nice afternoon, and have some nice things planned for the 3 day weekend.
