octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 28/03/2007 15:34

when are you due lesley?

eca · 28/03/2007 15:43

!! more babies!!! Well done mammyjo Great news! 4hrs - impressive! And really beautiful name, lovely!

Am going mad here trying to do some bulk cooking (3x the recipe - cost a fortune!!) and cooker is worse than I thought and it's turning into a disaster!! ahhhh

right off to read the other threads and see what the wonderful world of mn can cook up to entertain me today!

LesleyR · 28/03/2007 15:47

Due 9th April. 1 week and 5 days away which doesn't sound too bad.
It's my first so potentially could add 2 weeks onto that date which just seems like forever.

Sorry.Being a moaner today. Feel yuck and have had some bad news about a sick friend. Might see if a nap sorts me out.

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 28/03/2007 15:49

Big hugs LesleyR xoxoxox

eca · 28/03/2007 15:50

hi lesley - sorry you've had bad news and generally having a bad day . hope the snooze helps. Or there's always the hard stuff - chocolate. Just polished off a whole bar that was a gift to me and dh!

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 28/03/2007 15:53

eca - but there are two of you so you would have had 2/3 anyway

LesleyR · 28/03/2007 15:59

Last week I ate a whole lemon cake (over 5 days) that MIL had given to DH instead of birthday cake. I thought he was eating it too; turns out it was just me. Oops!

Thanks for nice messages, my friend has been ill for a long time but has just told us all that docs say she will not get better, there's no treatment options left for her it's just a case of making her "comfortable". Worse still she's 100 miles away and I'm too pregnant to go and see her. I just hope that bub arrives soon so she can meet him/her. Sorry for wibbling on but can't get it out of my head.

muminabigtumi · 28/03/2007 16:01

Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Well done Mammyjo!!!!!
How fab - youhave cheered me up as I was having a pants day to be honest - no particular reason....just not very "up" at the mo!

Just spent a small fortune on Easter Eggs and cards in order to ensure that all family "events" are prepared for for the next month or so as if baby comes there is no chance Phil is going to remember all the birthdays and weddings and things we have coming up!

Just going to write them all now.....!

Hugs to LesleyR and everyone else feeling a bit pants...not got time to check out the other thread thingy at the mo - may have time tonight to see what the fuss is about
x

Ladies- just thought I'd pop in to mention that full moon is April 2nd. Midwives expect to see more births around the time of full moons.

Congratulations to all those who've had their babies.

eca · 28/03/2007 16:11

arr, lesleyr that's awful news. no wonder it's on your mind. And it must be really hard not being able to just go and see her. These things over the phone are tough. Hope that your lo arrives in good time to meet your friend and for you to have some time with her.

liath · 28/03/2007 16:16

Congratulations to mammyjo and good luck tomorrow to Ooggs. Hope all our new mummies are doing well with their LOs.

Hugs to LesleyR, your poor friend .

I was thinking how much I take for granted - was chatting to a lovely 90 year old lady the other day and she told me that she was one of 13 children. Her poor mother had 13 babies and only three lived then she died at 45 when the youngest was only 2!! That really made me think about what I grumble about in my life! Still hate the 3rd trimester, though.

Nellyhel, are you coming in to Edinburgh for the birth or going to BGH? My youngest sister had both her ds's there as she lives in the Borders.

Middle sister has just sent an excited email becuase she's had a bit of a clear out - sadly being 11 days overdue reduces you to emailing relatives about oyur bowel movements ! Hope it means things are finally going to kick off for her. We ahve the gestations of elephants in this family!

flumppootle · 28/03/2007 16:37

Congratulations MammyJo

Good luck tomorrow OOoggs with your induction!

Sorry to hear about your friend LR

AngeG · 28/03/2007 16:38

Hope things are kicking off for you sister Liath

Hi Duchese good to see you

MIABT - I've done exactly the same bought all the cards right up to the middle of May. Cost a fortune

Hi Isabelly buddie How are you doing? Have you heard anything from Smole?

Good luck for tomorrow oooggs. Will be thinking of you. xx

Lots of love to everyone else xx

flumppootle · 28/03/2007 16:38

LOL at gestation of elephants Liath

glitterkitty · 28/03/2007 16:47

Not been on for 2 days- bloody hell, congrats to all!

Am not due till 27th and bet I'm late- in fact I still think im in denial about being pg- cant imagine i'll ever really have a baby after all these years trying!

Loved the baby in car story- and the names are all lovely too- good luck to those coming up- bet the next time I log on theres another 5! xxx

nellyhel · 28/03/2007 17:09

I've been present wrapping and card organising today too, must be in the air!

Liath - this will be my first (and last!) at BGH, the other two were Stirling. I have heard mostly good things apart from the parking - so hoping for another night time labour! Good luck to your sister, most of us do eventually lose all dignity and inhibitions while pregnant - it's amazing what you end up discussing with near strangers!

Horrible for your friend LesleyR, it must be frustrating when you can't visit either.

Good luck oogs for tomo!

nuttygirl · 28/03/2007 17:12

Wow congratulations Mammyjo and lovely name.

LR - sorry to hear about your friend and your baby comes soon so you can visit her.

Eca - I cooked loads of stuff for the freezer, it's such a lot to do at once but thought at least I don't have to worry about DHs cooking!!! Hope you manage to get it done even with the cooker being on the blink!

DHs colleague gave birth this morning too!

Birdiebump · 28/03/2007 17:15

Hi all only just logged on to see if there was anymore news about Mammyjo - to whom - CONGRATS!!!

Ooogs good luck for your induction!

Liath - I too have gestation period of an elephant, as I keep on trying to reassure DH who won't even go out in case I go into labour! (And I neeeed him to go out!! )

Pesha - I am not far from Exeter, in East Devon. Easy to drive to Yeovil from here.

Duchesse - what's the deal with the full moon then? Could this be the first baby I have early????

LesleyR {{{{{hugs}}}}}

maveta · 28/03/2007 17:40

Congrats Mammyjo!!

Good luck for tomorrow Ooogs! We´ll all be thinking of you..

Still barely keeping my head above water trying to keep up with the chat from last night and today but just about managing.. thank goodness today is finally over, day off tomorrow then last day of work on friiiiiiiiiday! Am slightly excited. My colleague, and good friend, keeps going on about how I can work from home in April. I think she is thinking along the lines of me keeping busy, needing the money (true), her wanting me around to help her out etc and I don´t quite know how many different ways I can say I DON´T WANT TO WORK ANY MORE!!! Yes, we could use the cash, YES, you could probably use my help (she´s relatively new) but I don´t WANT TO! I´m tired and I want to lie on the sofa and be BORED!!!

Ahem. Slight rant out of nowhere, that. Bit disappointed as I thought I would get sick pay in this month or so between work and my maternity leave starting but apparently not, I get a big fat 0 It´s kind of ok as we have money put aside to get us through but it would have been nice and everyone has been saying I would qualify and in the end I don´t. So poo.

Who was talking about chipsticks the other day...I´d luuuuurve some salt and vinegar chipsticks right now..really craving salty vs sweet. Could I be chocolated out?

weeonion · 28/03/2007 17:47

Katy44 · 28/03/2007 17:56

LesleyR, so sorry to hear about your friend
CD, how are things with your DH now? Hope he read your message.
Hello to everyone else, hope you're all OK.
Next time I'm on MN properly (rather than just lurking) I'll have finally handed in my stupid assignment. Right, off to finish it now.

zazas · 28/03/2007 18:17

Wow - log on and it is baby city! Congratulations to all of you who have had their wee ones - it is making it all seem very real and close for the rest of us! It seems like they have all been rather quick labours - lets hope it is a continuing trend....

I have heard that the full moon brings on the babies - so it could be a busy weekend. I am in full waddle mode now so this weekend would be fine!

Sorry to hear about your friend LesleyR - I know how you feel. I had a really sad email from a close friend yesterday and since I am from NZ can't do anything to help /comfort her. It just makes me so sad thinking about it - yet of course I am also so happy at the same time that there will soon be a new life in our family.....

Ooogs - good luck for tomorrow - you must be so excited to finally meet the babies!

I had better go - one sick child on the sofa to attend to.

take care all

hensden · 28/03/2007 18:32

Wooohooo another baby congrats Mammyjo another lovely name.

I'm getting quite stressed about names DH just won't discuss the subject, he's just leaving it up to me, or sort of 'cos when I say what about this one he says "i don't like it". In fact he's leaving all the wallpapering, painting, tiling to me as well,I "mentioned" last night that people were already popping April babies out, and maybe he better try and not work late every night and give me a hand, "I work hard all day" was his reply and that was that.
MEN I'm with you Dippy who needs 'em
Thats my rant over (for today)

Good luck for tomorrow ooggs, I was induced with DD, it made it all very fast but was a really enjoyable birth experience, only had G & A, wouldn't be bothered if I have to be induced again.

Off to catch up properly.
