Meg mine was really active as well and it took the sonographer ages to take the measurements. Once baby settled down it wouldn't stay in the right place to take the NT measurement so I have to cough and then shake my hips to shake the baby into a better position!

I had to do exactly the same @Usernamegone! My husband thought the hip shaking was hilarious. I also had to go for a wee (very welcome after the amount of water I'd chugged) and lay on both sides.

I don't think I realised how active they are in there, even this early. Amazing, really.

Wecome @Spitzbergen! I hope your sickness goes soon--you must be in your 13th/14th week by now? You poor thing!

@Gemaxo I think you asked about movement? My baby was sleeping during my scan, although it was doing so in an awkward position facing away from us so the photos still aren't great! They sleep and wake in 20 or 30 minute cycles, so it's just luck of the draw, don't worry :) The main thing is measurements and heartbeat. I'm waiting with baited breath to actually feel the movements for the first time (although knowing me I'll think it's wind--well, knowing me it could be wind!)

@megram I also went with a full bladder (as I was told) and then the sonographer said, 'oooooh you've got a full bladder' and was sent to go to pee some of it out - poor baby looked squashed! Then then had another go with a half filled bladder and then was sent away to completely empty it! I was worried my bladder wouldn't be full enough to do the scan!

Yes 14 weeks today! Still very sick
I have been signed off work for 3 weeks.
It looks like an exciting new year for us all!
I too couldnt believe how active baby was in scan. Somersaults and everything.
Ive just received my next scan date at the end of August. Seems forever away, but i know it's not far. I am consultant led so have an appointment with them in 2 weeks. Exciting stuff!
Anyway, it's nice to meet you all! It feels nice to know there so many of you out there going through this together.

DS is now officially on summer holidays... God give me strength!!!!

I had a very active baby during our scan too and had to do everything pp said such as empty bladder, shake hips, go on my sides, and also jump up and down
She couldn't get the neck measurement in the end as baby wouldn't stay still but she said she didn't have any concerns and if I wanted the blood test in a few weeks I could.
I'm really hoping my nausea is coming to an end as it's been a tough few days this week with lots of actual sick.
My new EDD is 20th Jan, so only one day off what I thought.

Just finished a massive 3 hour screaming and crying argument!

I'm so hormonal at the moment it's silly!

Keep worrying I've harmed the baby even though I've read online stress doesnt cause a miscarriage.

Hi waitingonasmile- yes I'm consultant led, had my first appt at 11weeks, next one at 16 weeks. I suspect it depends on the reason- I'm on blood thinners so they wanted me to be seen early so the consultant could agree to the dose. If you are consultant led for something more related to delivery I guess your first appt could be much later.

Rememberpurpleronnie It is just because of pre eclampsia in last pregnancy. I'm already taking aspirin so just wasn't sure what to expect. Really should just be patient and wait until next week to find out .

Morning hope everyone is feeling well. Great to hear about all the scans going well, we're all nearly into the 2nd trimester now!

Quick question, at my booking in app the midwife said that because I'm over 35 and because the is a gap is 10 years plus between my pregnancys that I should start taking a prescribed daily dose of Aspirin from 12 weeks. The prescription was sent to doctors I havent picked it up yet so haven't started taking it. The thing is I've no idea why I need to take it, she didn't explain and I don't know what those two factors mean, my age and how long since last pregnancy, because they didn't think I was high risk. So what will I be taking the aspirin for? Hss anyone got a clue or been been prescribed aspirin too?

Cross posts waitingon just read yours, do you think they think I might be at risk of pre eclampsia? If Aspirin is what they give to prevent that?

Maybebaby I know they think giving a low dose from week 12 can help reduce chances of developing pre e again but I've no idea if it is also given for other reasons.

Just saw the new list Mills, in the only one due on the 3rd so far! It's my Dad's birthday, I think he's secretly hoping for a birthday buddy.

Anyone felt movement yet? I think I've definitely felt the odd fluttering. I'm 14+4 today. Second pregnancy, I didn't feel DD move until I was about 18-19 weeks I think.

I feel really guilty!

Thanks waitingon I think that must be what they have prescribed it for. But I only have one of the moderate factors which is the last pregnancy being over 10 years, to be at risk it says you need one or more of those factors, so I wonder if they are being overly cautious. Pre eclampsia was never mentioned and she said I was not a high risk pregnancy so it's all a bit confusing. I think I will call midwife to clarify before taking it.

stylish I keep convincing myself I'm feeling flutters.... turns out to be wind every time! I'm 13+3 so you're a week ahead of me and they do say you feel them earlier in 2nd pregnancy so it's very possible that's what your feeling!

Maybebaby2 could be to lower risk of blood clots our varicose veins as I know my folder had a checklist for risk on that xx

Hello! Hope you're all doing well. I'm feeling much better now nausea has gone away and I'm able to do some exercise - but now I'm paranoid, as I don't "feel" as pregnant! Not sure I can make it to 20 weeks without another scan - I might have to book a private one in at 16 / 17 weeks. Or perhaps I'll feel reassured once I start feeling flutters...

Had a bleed this morning and was absolutely devestated. Crying on the toilet and panicking. Until I realised it was a rather nasty shaving cut

I've had a rather stressful week. We have started renovating the new house we brought to do up (before we realised I was pregnant!) And now feel on a bit of a timescale. I keep panicking it won't be ready in time. I also quit my job this week. I had a rubbish day and decided I did not need the money or, more importantly, the stress the place brings me. 3 more weeks and I'm free to have my pre-baby gap 5 months

It's so lovely to see everybody is doing so well. :)

Oh I've also been put on aspirin daily by my midwife because this is my first pregnancy and my dear mum had preeclampsia with me. I'm not too worried about this though as my sister had the same and, despite a pretty tricky birth, did not get preeclampsia. I've also still yet to be sick and therefore am assuming I've escaped!

12 weeks tomorrow and all i can seem to do is cry! I cry over any little thing 😩
