I should get an early scan because of my past ectopic. But think I'll go for a 7 week private one if I don't.....12 weeks is such a long wait!

MotherofUnicorns · 09/04/2017 17:30

I'm Def going to get an early scan. 7 weeks ish I think. There's lots of places in London that do it so it's pretty straightforward to sort out.
I had early scans with both my other dc and I needed it to reassure myself it was actually happening! Also then you can relax a bit and tell a could of people.
I'll be 7 weeks at the end of April so might try and book something that weekend.

Carlotta82248 · 09/04/2017 18:25

I will ask my mw to refer me in, shouldn't be a problem as have had misc. If not then I'll book a private one, lots around here too xx

Do you have boys or girls or a mixture @MotherofUnicorns? I've always had a strong feeling when I had a baby I'd have a boy but really strangely have an inkling if this all works out it might be a girl, silly I know. Will you all be peekers? I definitely won't want to find out x

OP posts:
MotherofUnicorns · 09/04/2017 19:31

I have 2 girls and i found out the sex with both of them.
It was SO exciting - like a little treat halfway through!
I will def find out again, I suspect it will be another girls which would be lovely.....

goldielocks29 · 10/04/2017 02:46

My hubs wants to find out, but I don't want to.
Love the idea of being surprised.🤞

Beardy1 · 10/04/2017 07:45

goldielocks we are definetly waiting for a surprise. It'll be hard but also exciting.

Carlotta82248 · 10/04/2017 12:17

We'll all be bursting to know when @MotherofUnicorns finds out! Right ladies, I have poas every day for 9 days now, how can I stop as I'm starting to freak myself out with my craziness! OH is also not enjoying having a wee filled stick shoved in his face every morning as a wake up call Blush

OP posts:
MotherofUnicorns · 10/04/2017 12:22

Ha ha! Carlotta!! Istopped poas actually as I freaked myself out when the ic weren't very dark. Cue a lot of googling g and people saying they are crap. I nearly bought some more digis but have so far resisted! Booked an early viability scan for sat 29th when I should be 7 weeks. ExciTed and terrified!
Currently at a farm with the kids and have had to tell the farmer that I'm preg as he tries to make me hold a lamb!! There are signs everywhere about pg women avoiding touchING sheep's goats and pigs etc as there is something you can catch which can make you miscarry..... Lots of handwashing later and we are safely in the soft play part!
Luckily kids didn't hear they just thought I didn't want to hold it.....

Beardy1 · 10/04/2017 12:53

mothersofunicorn go you for booking the scan. Mine would have to be around that date too. My dh will want to come as well so will have to figure out when's best. Where are you booking it?

Carlotta82248 · 10/04/2017 15:23

I'm looking at one on 2nd of May (the day I'd be 7 weeks) but might see if I can get referred in for one before I book it x

OP posts:
MotherofUnicorns · 10/04/2017 16:41

I found one for £45 in south london. All the main ones in Harley st etc are about £100.
IS anyone still checking the April bus - do we have any more people joining us? It was going great guns when i left!

Beardy1 · 10/04/2017 19:09

mothersofunicorn that's so cheap. It's about £80 up north.
I haven't checked the April board in ages. I wonder how they are all getting on

Carlotta82248 · 10/04/2017 19:26

Whereabouts is everyone? I'm North East. I keep popping on to the board, no new recruits at the moment. Feel for the BFNs and AF arrivals so much, it's heartbreaking, so hard to keep the faith. How long has everyone been trying? We started in September last year, fell pregnant in December and then now, suppose not actually long but it has felt it x

OP posts:
Beardy1 · 10/04/2017 20:42

I'm the north east too.

That's rubbish about everyone struggling on the old board. It really is hard going. I started last June but didn't really get going until I'd say October time as I was a stressed mess. Fell pregnant in January and then a month later after Feb MC we are here.

Carlotta82248 · 11/04/2017 11:41

Just went back to Slimming World, BMI 35.1, got some serious work to do and there's no better motivation!

OP posts:
Beardy1 · 11/04/2017 13:39

carlotta good luck with slimming world. Is there one specific for pregnant ladies? I guess it's important to get all the nutrients in. What's everyone taking as vitamins etc?

Carlotta82248 · 11/04/2017 13:55

It's the only slimming club that is accredited to follow during pregnancy and is recommended by the Royal College of Midwives, so it's suitable to follow all through pregnancy. I'm taking Vit D and 5mg of folic acid as you need slightly higher dose with a raised BMI xx

OP posts:
Beardy1 · 11/04/2017 14:11

Oh brill that's great that they cater for pregnancy. Phew to that.

MotherofUnicorns · 11/04/2017 16:24

Hi everyone. I'm in London as you prob worked out!
I had my mirena coil out in july last year but cycles were all over the place until about October so I would say we have been trying properly for about 6 months. It felt a lot longer!!
It took 4 with dd1 and dd2 was an accident sort of - not trying but not using protection if you know what I mean. ...
I went out for dinner last night and thought I'd have to confess but got away with by drinking 1 glass super slow and dh swapping our glasses for the rest of the night! I can't believe my friend didn't suspect though....
Got to get through Fridays big booze up now...
How are you all feeling?
No sickness here yet which is good.

goldielocks29 · 11/04/2017 17:37

I'm London too! (Well originally, now in Essex but still zone 6 😉)

I have a friends 40th this weekend, lots of fake vodka and mixers for me!
Desperately don't want to tell people early!

Beardy1 · 11/04/2017 18:54

mother good tactics right there. It's a tricky one trying to hide it in social occasions.
I'm feeling alright today. Had horrendous leg achy cramps last night again so wasn't a great sleep. Other than that I'm okay just the odd but sicky and craving anything super salty.

Carlotta82248 · 11/04/2017 19:01

An even split between North and South then :) I'm ridiculously Northern, feel like I'm in the Deep South when we visit OH family in Birmingham and am such a country bumpkin when I go to London!

I feel generally fine, my already huge boobs are huger and have had the odd wave of nausea. @MotherofUnicorns when do symptoms usually properly kick in?

I'm at a wedding 29th April which will be my biggest challenge, going with girls who know I've been trying and there's a free bar. Not sure of my chances of hiding it?!

OP posts:
MotherofUnicorns · 11/04/2017 20:52

I'm from Birmingham originally so feel like a midlander but been here 11 years now....
I think my sickness started at about 6 weeks before, I was lucky and didn't have it too bad, just felt a bit hungover kind of sick for about 2 months (!). I also went off meat with my first which was interesting! Never really got massively back into it either.

I'm exhausted by 3pm every day - dreading going back to school after easter! Not sure if it's pg symptoms or just a lack of coffee! !

Carlotta82248 · 11/04/2017 21:16

I'm Cumbrian so the big cities are all a big shock to me hahahaha, couldn't live there now though, find the everyone knowing everyone just too strange.

I'm shattered too, desperately trying to swap my nights next week for days as struggling to stay awake past 9pm xx
