Who's recently found out they're preggers?

Hi, Apologies if there is a similar thread of a Jan babies one. Just thought I'd see who else is out there.

I found out I was pregnant just over a week ago, saw GP on Thursday and I'm booked in for an early scan next Friday (as I was on Clomid).

So far, my dates put me as 5 weeks + 3 days and due Jan 14th. What about you lot?

I have to say I'm not feeling all that pregnant at the moment, I'm sure that will change, but hopefully the sickness won't come my way (other than a small amount of nausea I've had a couple of mornings).

So tell me about you, when/how did you find out, how long had you been trying, how are you feeling, when will you tell people etc etc!!!!

Hi everyone,

I've just found out I am pregnant for the first time after 8 months of trying (and endometriosis) - 4 weeks and 6 days, due Jan 25th! I actually came on this thread (at 6am!) as I've been having period type pains for the last week. I was ok with that but then last night and a couple of hours ago I had the most awful pain, that built and built then gradually went over maybe 10-15 mins. It was so bad I had to lie on the bathroom floor so as not to pass out. Obviously I'm worried about MC but there has been no bleeding so far (I'm sorry by the way if I'm posting this in the wrong place - I'm new to Mumsnet and don't know my way around, plus I wanted to say hello to other newly pregnant people). We went to the doctors yesterday and I mentioned the pains I had been having up until then, less severe but really uncomfortable, and she thought that although I'm otherwise low risk because of the endo I should go to the early pregnant unit after 5 weeks for a scan. Now this more extreme pain has happened twice, we're planning to go in the morning, though at just under 5w I'm not sure what they are going to be able to do for me. Hopefully tell me this might be uncommon but is harmless?!

Please do feel free to tell me where I should have actually posted this. And I hope to be back soon with more normal early preg things!

cindyrella · 24/05/2016 06:32

Gingeridiot - I have had same. I am 6+4. I phoned Dr yesterday, who immediately phoned the early pregnancy unit and they called me back & got me in for an early scan. Everyone was so helpful. Unfortunatly, they could see a sack but no yolk or heartbeat but it could be too early and I've got an appt for next Tues for another scan. It's going to be a long long week!

4 weeks will be too early to scan as they said 6 weeks earliest however I would recommend phoning if you have an early pregnancy support in your local maternity hospital. They can give you advice.

cindyrella · 24/05/2016 06:33

4 weeks might be that should have read!

GingerIdiot · 24/05/2016 07:06

Good luck to you Cindyrella, and thank you for replying. Is this your first too? I'm hoping, in both our cases, this is an entirely normal thing and just a bit of early pregnancy that people don't tell you about!

cindyrella · 24/05/2016 07:21

This is my second! DD is 2.8 years & I was one of those annoying women who had a perfect pregnancy with zero morning sickness or problems at all!
This one's a complete stress. I've had bleeding on & off for 2 weeks now. Thankfully I'm on holiday. Feel absolutely rotten with dizziness thus morning so holding onto that as a good sign.

broodykingy · 24/05/2016 09:37

Cindyrella and Gingeridiot I hope that all is ok!!!

nervoussam · 24/05/2016 10:30

Hi everyone. Ginger, agree with the others, before 6 weeks you're likely to not see much and there be no heartbeat so I expect you'll have to go back. I'm having a scan on Friday and will be 6+6, they tried to get me in yesterday (because I was on Clomid) but I was worried it would be too early and a whole load of other worry be added if they couldn't see a heartbeat). Hopefully the pain is nothing to worry about, but better to get checked out, even if you do end up going back again.

Hi broody I also did lots of tests to help it sink in! Not sure it does, I thought there was some sort of conspiracy going on! It will feel more real as time goes on, I wish there was more interaction with Dr's etc in the first three months though, if I didn't have my scan this week then it would feel like an eternity to get to 12 weeks!

COngrats Evie sorry about your MC, I'm sure you'll have better luck this time. How's the nausea?

Ambak book an appt with your GP, they'll help you from there.

I'm about to catch the train to York, 4 hours of travelling to get there, then meetings and a night out (where I need to excuse the fact I'm not drinking), then more meetings tomorrow and a late train back. Not what I need when I'm feeling exhausted and sick!!! Hope you all are having better days?
xxx

Hi all - we're just going to move this one over to Ante-Natal.

hels18 · 24/05/2016 15:11

Apart from being tired and a bit bloated this week, I don't feel pregnant at all! I've tested a few more times to make sure it's definitely real, and each time is an instant BFP. I'm super impatient and will burst if I have to wait until 12 weeks, so have booked myself a private scan for next week. I'll be 7+1, so hopefully will see a little something!

broodykingy and evieT1 me too, feeling very concious that I am not drinking when I'm out and about with friends. Lots of driving/hungover/antibiotics/pre holiday diet excuses are coming out!

broodykingy · 24/05/2016 15:21

Yeah I'm going to book myself in at 8 weeks. I found out at 3 +5 so it already feels like forever and waiting another 7 weeks just seems impossible.

Hopefully you see something at your scan hels18

nervoussam · 24/05/2016 16:28

I agree hels considering the risks and weirdness of the first trimester, you'd think there would be more involvement medically? 12 weeks is way to long away. I'm grateful for my scan on Friday, think I'd go mental if not! (or would have booked a private one like you also!) I also hadn't really felt anything other than bloated until the end of last week, it really does seem to be true that you start feeling crappy at 6 weeks!!!

broody good idea, 8 weeks is a good time I think, hopefully keep you going till the next one at 12!

I'm feeling nervous since I found out . The doctor told me last week I am 16 weeks . Now I'm a nervous wreck waiting for the prenatal clinic to call me . Is it normal to feel this way . I'm hoping for the best but can't help but to think that the worse may happen and I'm not sure where to turn to talk about this type of stuff . It could be the shock of finding out last week but I'm still not overly sure I will be okay . I know pychologically it's due to past issues of trying to conceive but truth to be told I'm thrilled and worries at the same time . And congrats to all the ladies that have found out I wish the best for you all !

cindyrella · 24/05/2016 18:40

Nervous wreck is completly the norm I'm afraid Mollie1233 did you find out at 16 weeks? That must have been a lovely shock!

GingerIdiot · 24/05/2016 22:17

Hi all,

Thanks for your thoughtful comments - and hello to all fellow pregnant people! Having had those horrid pains last night/this morning I went to the Early Pregnancy Unit and they gave me a scan and some blood tests. Unsurprisingly it was a bit too soon to tell if things were ok (not ectopic) for certain but the midwife said her suspicion was that it was fine. I'm back in a few days for more tests then another scan next week. I'm feeling pretty hopeful it might be ok?? Still painful though and I'm slightly scared what will happen tonight - hoping no more nearly passing out on the bathroom floor, argh! This is my first pregnancy and so far isn't how I imagined it. But I'm still delighted, and I'm crossing my fingers the pain will be a short-lived thing.

PS anyone else here have endometriosis?

summerskittles91 · 25/05/2016 14:03

Sorry for not replying for a while.
Things didn't go as expected for me. my private scan revealed that I had miscarried and there was a clot of blood left.

It was a horrible moment and I ended up staying off work for a few days.

My period isn't due for about 2 weeks and I've been told the clot should come out with my next period :(

GingerIdiot · 25/05/2016 14:12

I'm so sorry to hear that summerskittles91 x

cindyrella · 25/05/2016 14:27

Summerskittles I am sorry to hear this better luck next time my dear

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 29/05/2016 18:17

I got my bfp early hours Saturday. I don't know what even made me take the test as I was only a day late.

It still hasn't hit me yet. I think I've convinced my self that it's a false positive so as not to get my hopes up, and sorry if TMI but I feel all wet underneath and feel like my period is about to come. I'm sure once it's properly confirmed. I'll be over the moon.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 29/05/2016 18:18

I'm so sorry Summer xx

Mollie1233 · 30/05/2016 19:59

It was a shock to me, it still is . I'm nervously waiting for the prenatal clinic to call me but I don't think they will give me an appointment till about 20 weeks . For now it's a waiting game .

nervoussam · 31/05/2016 11:13

lighthouse no such thing as a false positive. Sometimes a chemical pregnancy will show positive but that usually earlier. So you're demurely up-duffed! Congrats!!!
