Evening ladies! Ooh I am in Farringdon so not far from Holborn Bean - as there seems to be quite a few of us based in Central London. Should we try to do an after works meet up for (non alcoholic and most likely caffeine free) drinks? X

Justyouwaitandsee · 25/02/2015 18:59

Oops - messed up my punctuation in that last post, but hope you get the gist!!!

leanne963 · 25/02/2015 19:08

Thanks Kitty I appreciate it :)

aberjen · 25/02/2015 19:27

Thanks longest, cuphat and three. I do sometimes resort to standing up changes, trouble is DD poos quite a lot, and I really need her prone for those changes...

cuphat Envy Wink where can I find one of these happy-to-lie-thee toddlers?! Actually, suspect hope this one may end up being pretty laid back as best defence against permanently on the go DD. That, or they'll try to outdo each other Shock

cuphat · 25/02/2015 19:32

Thanks Tori, I will try that out. I need to turn over during the night which is a real pain. It sounds like it might disturb DH (when he's here) though!

Jenni, DH has no problem buying things like maternity towels however I bought loads in advance last time after reading numerous horror stories. I barely bled after my section (I actually worried that something was wrong) so I still have loads of the things left!

BeanCalledPickle · 25/02/2015 19:38

I think they give you a good Hoover out during a section!

Would love to meet up for central london drinks!! X

Turquoisetamborine · 25/02/2015 19:41

Does anyone have a good list for a hospital bag? I might need slightly different things as I'm having a section.
Lots of lawyers on here. And teachers. I would love to come to a meet up but I'm the only one in the North East.

Great! Re. Central london drinks. Is everyone who would be interested in coming along on the FB group? If so, I will create a new thread on there as it will probably be easier to plan!

BeanCalledPickle · 25/02/2015 20:44

Yep that would be good!

SmileyScooby · 25/02/2015 21:37

Wow didn't get chance to catch up yesterday so am sorry if I miss anyone!

Snooky sorry to hear DD is unwell, hope she perks up soon

Sunshine have a spoonful of normal glycerin (not honey and lemon but the clear stuff) in a hot black currant or something, failing that fresh half a lemon with a spoonful of honey and hot water

Tits hope things improve and the blistery things go away

Leanne I'm the same re sleep, only had about 4 hrs sleep last night, mild heartburn, fidgety, being too warm, tossing and turning. Plus little dude was fidgeting too!! I've also been sleeping on my right until hip hurts/pant leg elastic have dug in too much from fidgeting in sleep! Am also going to give Gina ford book a go - for ideas if nothing else!

Cuphat sorry you are in pain, hope it eases a bit with some support

tori thanks for the all fours tip...will try that tonight if still suffering!

We have started buying a few bits like crib for in our bedroom and mattress, car seat just struggling to find store with the pushchair I like in stock so can try out. Really hoping sleep better tonight as got a parents evening tomorrow Zzzz

Re hospital bag - hadn't thought about it yet to be honest...but dunno when I need to start thinking about it hehe. When is the norm? And please keep the useful tips coming!!

leanne963 · 25/02/2015 21:55

Aw no I hope you sleep better tonight Smiley it can be exhausting not getting any sleep :(

Anyone getting sharp shooting pains up the side of their back?! I had it three times yesterday and then had a really painful one just then that lasted about 5 seconds. I was only sat on the sofa!!! I'm guessing it's the baby hitting a nerve but just wondering if anyone else has had this??

SmileyScooby · 25/02/2015 22:04

leanne I had this at work today when I was walking around classroom and lasted about 20 mins in total then ok. I reckon for me that my little man was pressing on something.

leanne963 · 25/02/2015 22:16

smiley 20 minutes?? Ouch!!! Did you try to wiggle around to get him to move?!

SmileyScooby · 26/02/2015 06:47

Yeah I did a shuffle only hurt when moved so stood still hehe

catnip85 · 26/02/2015 07:53

I'm up for drinks, I'm in the city until April.

Think my brain is shot now, am 30wks tomorrow. I edit a magazine and had to get my assistant to read something I wrote yesterday in case it was a load of complete guff. Time to start handing over I think!

tits hope you feel better soon. Sounds like yr having a rough time.

leanne completely sympathise, I havent had a decent nights sleep in wks. If anyone has a magic cure pls let us know!

piglet81 · 26/02/2015 08:22

London drinks would be great. Who do I need to contact to join the Facebook group?

Had such a sore right hip yesterday - was hobbling around like an old woman! Hope everyone's doing OK today.

piglet - pm me the address you use for facebook and I can try to invite you! (Testing my newly acquired admin powers!)

tori - hope you manage to get some rest, think we all need to be careful not to push ourselves too hard.

Hoping that everyone else having a tough week, has a restful weekend ahead. Not long to go!

Threesoundslikealot · 26/02/2015 10:31

Poor you, Tori, that sounds miserable. I hope you feel better soon.

I am fretting a lot today about movements. I've just eaten some chocolate to see if that does anything. I'm working from home today and tempted to call my midwife and see if I can go in and they can have a listen.

applecore0317 · 26/02/2015 13:39

Sorry you are poorly Tori

Give the midwife a call three best to put your mind at ease.

Am going to start keeping a diary of movements now I think. Went back to work today, Only half days for now and am off on holiday now until Tuesday anyway :)

leanne963 · 26/02/2015 14:23

Aww tori hope you get better soon, its not fun having a bad cough especially when it starts to hurt your tummy, at least thats what i get when i cough too much and tense my tummy.

Three It is scary isn't it, i am finding it hard to monitor movements cause she has quite days and busy days! Hope the midwife can put your mind at rest.

I had a small bit of salmon coloured discharge again this morning, i dunno whether its thrush as i am not getting any other symptoms, will give the midwife a call if i get it again later!

Titsalinabumsquash · 26/02/2015 15:44

Tori, they probably want to check for Scarlett fever, it's going around all over the place atm, both my nieces have it and it starts with feeling rubbish with a cough/sore throat and rash.
