Hi ladies.

Due in just under a week with baby no1. Yellow bump. Hoping to start a thread with ladies at a similar stage so we can encourage each other in these last few days (hopefully not weeks!)

Looking forward to meeting this little one now. Hopefully not much longer! SmileEnvy

Well, I was due yesterday and no signs at all :(. First baby and everyone delights in telling me that first babies are usually late...because that's helpful! Lol.
So looking forward to meeting my little one- fingers crossed it's not much longer!
Xx

Hi, can I join? 37+3 today, so counting down :) Although nursery isn't ready yet so hoping baby stays put for at least another week or so! Really can't wait to meet them now, though, feel like I've read so much about feeding etc that I just want to try it all now!

Jenny, we are also team yellow and SO looking forward to finding out!
Pinkrach, hope you don't have too much longer to wait, you must be getting so impatient going past term, I'm sure I will feel the same way if/when I get to that stage.

bettyboop31 · 18/02/2015 13:03

Hi hope it ok to join, im 39+5 and so ready to have our little girl! This is my 3rd baby! I have 2 boys my first was 10 days early other boys was on due date! Think i could go over had hardly any signs of her wanting make move got midwife tomorrow and hoping she give me a sweep Smile

Dogsmom · 18/02/2015 13:39

I've posted on your other thread but will join this one too, I'm 38+ 3 with dd2 and more than ready for her now Smile

I finished work yesterday and although I'd love to flake out on the settee all day I've got doors and skirting boards to get painted, my first arrived 2 days early after mowing our 200ft garden with a petrol mower that didn't want to start, we've moved house since and have a much smaller garden so I'm hoping the decorating will give her a nudge.

Bondy83 · 18/02/2015 15:11

I'm due next Thurs, I've been back n forth with reduced movement they're monitoring me every day and had a sweep Mon, today and again on Fri booked in for induction on Saturday if I don't go myself before then

jennyB123 · 18/02/2015 17:34

Lovely to hear from you all! Hopefully our babies will all start arriving soon! And can't wait to hear everyone's progress, it's all so so exciting!!

My ball came today GrinGrin and have pumped it up, but I'm not too sure it's big enough, I got the 65cm ball as I'm 5ft6 and that's what size the website said I needed, but my knees/legs are level with my hips, is that ok? I thought hips had to be slightly higher?!

Anywhoo iv still enjoyed having a little bounce this afternoon!!

Keep me posted ladies and feel free to use this thread for any niggles, twinges or signs of baby on the way! I for one cannot wait for baby birthday!! Eek!

39+3 here and nothing happening at all. I still can't believe I'm having a baby though - people on my NCT course are popping all around me and I still can't quite believe it's going to happen to me!

Dogsmom · 18/02/2015 18:17

I'm not sure about the ball size but presume that it's the bouncing effect that is all that matters and you'll still be able to do that.

Blondie, you'll probably be the first of us all, only 4 days off your DD, it does feel so surreal doesn't it, to think of how massively our lives are going to change in a few days.

I've been having twinges the last hour which get my hopes up but the last few times it's been because I need the loo so I'm not expecting anything exciting Smile

Pinkrach · 18/02/2015 20:21

I hope I'm first Dogsmum since I'm overdue ??.

Unlikely tho....

Anyone else suffering with pregnancy insomnia? Last few nights been waking up around 4 and completely unable to get back to sleep until DP has gone to work. So frustrating!

I have a birthing ball as well, Jenny, and really enjoying it! Apparently they are supposed to be good for getting baby into the right position and "opening" the pelvis so should be good!

Babiecakes, wow that must have been a bit scary your waters breaking so early, are you around 34 weeks now, then? Every day closer to term you get matters at that stage, so you're doing great to have made it this far :)

Well, I'm going to attempt to get back to sleep... Its a good job I'm no longer at work and can nap in the day, or I'd be running on empty by now!

blondie1001 · 19/02/2015 08:00

Hope yours comes soon Pinkrach - I'm expecting to go over too. Not sure why!

jennyB123 · 19/02/2015 09:56

Oh my goodness babiecakes, that must have been very scary, like pp said your doing amazing to keep her in there! Every day really does count!

I waterproofed my side of the bed yesterday Blush plastic sheet then towel then sheet. Sounds awful when I move! It's a brand new mattress so not taking the risk! I know it's unlikely my waters will go in bed but Better to be safe!

I have had 1 night of insomnia Jennifer, I was starving! Had to go downstairs for toast and milk! Then I managed to get back to sleep, thankfully that hasn't happened since! Grin

8 days till DD! I am so excited!

Just brought a pop up cot from Facebook, it will be handy as travelling to Cambridge in May for 2 nights for a wedding. £5! Used once still in box, I love the fb selling sites WinkGrinSmile

Can I join you ladies? 37+5, eviction date is 2nd March at 39+2, so 11 sleeps left to meet my baby girl :) she's coming out through the sunroof as I've got some fistulas due to crohns disease.

Half excited, half absolutely bloody terrified!!

Dogsmom · 19/02/2015 11:47

I've just got back from my midwife appointment, she checked my cervix and said I'm 1cm dilated and it's nice and spongy although still about an inch long, she could get one finger through easily and felt the top of the babies head!
She also gave me a sweep as I've been having irregular cramps since yesterday evening and said that if it works it will be within 48 hours.

Obviously it got my hopes up but then after a quick Google I've come across loads of posts from women who had sweeps that didn't work.

I'd forgotten how flipping painful they were too but am glad I've had it done, my next appointment is for 13 days time when I'll be 3 days overdue, if my baby hasn't arrived by then she's going to do me another sweep and book me in for induction.

It's made me panic a bit because my bags still aren't fully packed so that's todays job.

I came out of the surgery feeling really buoyed then managed to lock my 2 year old daughter in the car with the keys!! Luckily I got hold of my Mom who found a spare set to bring down so it was only about 10 minutes and dd seemed highly delighted to see me stood out in the rain pulling silly faces at her.

Hope everyone else is feeling well and getting plenty of twinges Smile

It must be such a mixture of excitement and worry for you Babiecakes, do they have to check for infection?

My sweep has given me plenty of cramps, it's been 7 hours now and I'm getting them every 10 minutes or so but they're only uncomfortable not painful, I've also lost a bit of plug.

I'm going to be so disappointed if it all tails off.

At least the country isn't covered in snow and none forecast, we should all be able to get to the hospital ok.

I had my sweep again today and she said I'm 2cm dilated so things are progressing. I'm booked in for induction tomorrow at 9.30 if I don't go myself tonight hopefully he won't need too much encouragement tomorrow

jennyB123 · 20/02/2015 18:52

How exciting bondy!! Good luck!! I had a major case of nesting today. Cleaned loads, maybe done a bit too much...

Cooking tea at the moment and keep getting a sharp 'stitch' like pain on my left hand side of bump... Has anyone's labours started off feeling like a stitch?! Wishful thinking I'm sure :-/

Ello, I'm new to mumsnet!

I'm 39+4, FTM & experiencing some consistent BH & mild cramping. Hoping this could be the start of something. I have my 40w appt & stretch & sweep on Thursday. Can anyone shed any light on what to expect with that? Painful? Straight home afterwards or...

Smile
jennyB123 · 02/03/2015 12:05

Hi wishart Grin

Welcome! I had a stretch and sweep last Wednesday and have another one today...

I found the first one slightly uncomfortable but that's to be expected Wink I had an evening of strong braxton hicks and bleeding but it tailed off to nothing...boooo!

Iv had dull period pains all day today, so fingers crossed it means things might be happening for me! Trying not to get my hopes up! Also hoping the midwife will tell me if she thinks labour is close! Eek I'm so excited to meet my baby!!!!

How are you feeling in general? Smile

Wishart87 · 02/03/2015 15:20

Hello ??

Yeah I'm expecting it to feel a little weird. Some ladies fingers having a swipe up there haha. I'm actually feeling pretty optimistic about it. Fingers crossed! Shame it didn't work for you, hopefully this second one will do more 'damage' so to say!

I've not slept well with BH's and pelvic pain the last two days. I really feel like I've been kicked between the legs.. But apart from that I am so lucky, had such a good pregnancy.. So I think baby is just enjoying their time inside! It's just the moving about and getting up that's hard now!

All the best for your next appt. Hoping you've progressed nicely!
