Hurrah Cunty - lovely scan pic! The post scan high is a lovely feeling. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Bugs sorry to hear about the swollen feet my dear. Flip flops all the way until the weather cools off and the socks need to come back out.

I had my 16 week appointment last Wednesday and my 20 week scan is 2 weeks tomorrow. Yep, you've guessed it- return of the menkul. I think it was brought on by a shopping (not buying) trip to mothercare and kiddiecare today...I looked at a few prams/buggies (what the feck is the difference?) but kept going back to look at the prenatal heartbeat monitoring thingy. MG says I'm not to get one of those. So I bought a dream genii instead.

The shopping trip with my mum was nice but it all felt a bit other worldly, like I'm intruding on someone else's baby shower or something. I now have a teeny bump but I don't feel much different from my usual non-diffed self and I'm starting to worry about the 20 week scan already.

eurochick · 01/08/2014 07:58

Cunty, that's brilliant.

Bugs, I have been in flip flops dance around the 30 week mark. I hate rainy days as they mean filthy feet!

Fankle, I was freaked out by the early shopping trips and anything else that involved admitting I was actually diffed. It didn't seem right.

Hurrah for mat leave, ginge.

I'm another one in flip flops. Have been for weeks, thank god for the kids being off and I've been able to wear what I like.

maamalady · 01/08/2014 19:07

I haven't worn socks for about three months Grin

I got mine from tesco - it's a £6 gym ball Grin

katandkits · 02/08/2014 13:29

I think mine was aldi. Also just a gym ball. Didn't use it massively in any case. I also found it uncomfortable. As you are tall perhaps you need a bigger ball?

Mine is from John Lewis, bought years before pregnancy for gym work. It feels good quality.

SinkyMalinks · 03/08/2014 08:12

Mines from Amazon and felt fine, but the pump did break 2nd use. Can look out the make if you want to get from amazon again.

Apologies for absence, E has been giving me a few rough nights lately so I'm not very with it!

Bugs my gym ball is a Reebok. Think I bought it in a sports shop many moons ago. To be fair I only really used it in the last month or so for bouncing while watching tv!

Hope everyone else and the mini ESH are doing well.

Ginge we're all watching you with baited breath now!

A good thing about being induced overnight - I only had a nightie on in the first place so no clothes angst Grin Mind you I ended up in the nude pretty quickly, though got a hospital gown when I got the epidural.

All well here, we are in the process of evicting the calf from our bed and getting her to sleep in the crib instead. Step one - we have got one of those white noise dream sheep, so hopefully if we get her used to it while sleeping in our bed it may help her settle in her own... I am so not keen on co-sleeping, but the calf doesn't like being far from people for long, so it has been the only way the three of us have got any sleep overnight. Definitely not the long term plan, though!

I think it was slightly later than that but only by a couple of weeks when I felt I might need to start slowing down a bit (something that doesn't come naturally to me!).

We just gave C her first bath. She seemed to like it. :)

Bugs mine is a 75cm ball and it's been great and still going strong. It's from amazon and I don't know the make as such but it says fine toned on it. I can hunt for it if you need me to

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/08/2014 07:12

Bugs its -EXERCISE ,GYM,YOGA BALL 65cm+PUMP-ANTI-BURST + EXERCISE INSTRUCTIONS fine-toned www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004OKIOI2/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_EqY3tb06CFGG5 this one
Still being used, including by my 100kg husband Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 04/08/2014 07:16

Link fail. Plus I've just noticed the 75cm is out of stock on amazon. But the brand is fine toned so if you can find elsewhere its worth looking out for

eurochick · 04/08/2014 09:05

No news yet. I'm desperate to get her out of there. She has had a uti this week. I'm sure it happened because whilst some of the nurses are great, others leave them sitting in shitty nappies for ages. The antibiotics have given her an upset stomach and this has slowed her weight gain. The dr spoke to us yesterday and wants to put her on prophylaxis antibiotics against further utis for about 3 months. I'm not keen. The stomach side effects of the antibiotics seem to be really hindering her, and you could see that she was in pain with them. They also work all the babies up to a 4 hourly feeding schedule. She really struggles with the amount they want her to take and has to be tube fed the excess. She needs to get rid of the tube before she can be discharged. I don't get the 4 hourly feeds. Most newborns eat more often than that as their stomachs are so small. She is half the size of a newborn! So I'm not happy that she is there but until she starts finishing the stupid 4 hourly feeds they won't let her out. :(

SinkyMalinks · 04/08/2014 10:55

That does seem unhelpful. We all understand it's vital she puts on weight, but as you say, what newborn goes 4hrs then has a big feed? R is and always was a snacker/cluster feeder and would have hated waiting 4 hours and undoubtably vomited up the volume if tube fed.

Ditto bugs - are the consultants useful/approachable? Even better, who's the chief breastfeeding nurse? This cannot be a new problem.
