They'd tell you idt, don't worry.

I need some tips on how to keep myself as distracted as possible today. DD and I are currently watching disney clips on you tube. I'm really trying to stay positive but to be honest I'm really frightened. In for a crappy day I think.

magichandles · 17/04/2014 08:48

Trouble DC2 arrived at 37+5 but he was induced because of GD. I wasn't too concerned about delivering as early as there was a clear reason for DC1 coming so early but it was definitely a milestone when we passed her delivery date. Do they know why you were early?

Cherie037 · 17/04/2014 08:55

My thoughts are with you carebear. I am thinking positive thoughts for you and I can't imagine how anxious you must be. Its suppose to be a nice sunny day today maybe get outside with your DD and soak up some sunshine?

mum2kiss · 17/04/2014 09:06

trouble my sis has 5 dcs and their arrival dates were all over the place...some a few weeks early and some late by a few days.

I had a dream last night that I gave birth to a 9lb baby boy lol! If he could just shave a couple of pounds of that birth weight I'd be happy!

I have spoken to my gp about the lack of due date at the scan and she said not to worry about...easy for her to say!

STIGZ · 17/04/2014 09:11

carebear i cant imagine how worried you must be, how will u find out? Will they call you?

When im worrying about something that is out of my control i always believe that the outcome will be something i am strong enough to deal with, and know that everything happens for a reason, no matter how hard it is to deal with at the time.

I always think thank god for children at worrying times because they get you through so much, so your dd will be a wee guardian angel & take ur mind off things... Even if only for a few minutes xx

my dd has got me through so much grief with a close family member dying 6 months ago! I honestly dont think i would have got out of bed again if it wasnt for her.

Thinking of you hunni xx

CareBearWithFangs · 17/04/2014 09:36

Smile Yes DD is being wonderful. She's also behaved so well the past few days, almost as if she knows. I think if DD wasn't here I might be curled up and crying all day.

Mum2kiss I'd be really annoyed if I was you, surely you need some sort of due date? What are you going to say to all the old ladies who will start asking "ooh when are you due?".

Loulou888 · 17/04/2014 10:11

Fingers crossed for you carebear. Can't be long now before you hear. Will look out for your post.

I got my blood test results back today really really low risk so relief.

ldt87 · 17/04/2014 10:31

Thinking of you carebear and waiting for your news, hope only good news comes your way xx

Captainmcgraw · 17/04/2014 10:36

Thinking of you carebear.

I had my 16 week check up this morning and heard the heartbeat and baby seems fine - what a relief. Midwife and student midwife were so kind and listened to all my silly anxieties and made me feel normal instead of stupid which was lovely. They said that from 28 weeks I would have regular growth scans as DD was a low birth weight. Seems a little strange as she wasn't tiny - 6lb 2oz - and I am very small myself and was about 4lbs something at birth. However won't turn down the opportunity to see baby more often. I'm just a bit worried that if baby is on the small side they won't let me have my ELCS at 39 weeks as DD was that weight at nearly 42. Had very traumatic delivery last time and severe tearing which still effects me now so really really want the CS! I guess if they were worried it would just be booked in for later and I'd possibly go into labour first and end up with emcs.

Captainmcgraw · 17/04/2014 10:38

P.s anyone else had third or fourth degree tears with first baby? What did you do the second time/are planning to do this time? Sorry hope this isn't too off putting for first timers - tears this bad really aren't that common.

LondonJen · 17/04/2014 10:55

Glad to hear you've had some lovely reassurance Captain

Carebear can you make something easter-ish with DD? In early pg I learnt to knit and all sorts just to distract me from worrying this would end in mc like the last time. Thinking of you and wishing you strength x

Me23 · 17/04/2014 11:35

mum2 if baby is measuring same as lmp then you wouldn't be redacted. Doesn't it say on your scan report or screening results the gestation of baby on that day?

care I have my fingers crossed for you and I'm hoping you get some good news very soon.

Me23 · 17/04/2014 11:37

captain have you got an appt with a consultant to discuss your options? It's a very individual decision based on how you have healed and if there are any ongoing incontinence issues.

pinds · 17/04/2014 12:34

Pinds edd 5 October 2014 dc1

Captainmcgraw · 17/04/2014 12:57

Thanks Me23 I have a meeting with the consultant at 20 weeks. I'm very much decided that I want a CS - quite possibly wouldn't have got pregnant again if I thought I wouldn't be allowed one. I'm more being nosey than anything and just wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation!

ohthegoats · 17/04/2014 12:59

Last few days of my holiday, feel like I've lost weight from eating so much fruit and salad (still obviously got a fat gut though), so now panicking that I've forgotten I'm pregnant, don't feel pregnant, therefore can't actually still be pregnant.

I've got a consultant appointment on Thursday, but no 16 week midwife appointment because of being away. Because I did private 12 week scan, I've not seen any nhs people in over 2 months. Feeling really weird about the whole thing. Maybe just realising that this is actually happening, rather than something that was happening in some future time after holidays.

Urgh. Am turning into a nutjob.

mum2kiss · 17/04/2014 14:50

Yes me23 the scan report shows a edd of 12th october. Im just concerned that its not accurate because when I asked her she seemed so vague with the answer and didnt even tell me the date she'd recorded in the report. My midwife had estimated 13th october and if you go by my lmp its 11th, so not much in it...I guess the sonographers lack of confidence in what she was doing has made me unsure that she did much of it correctly! She didnt record anything about my placenta or amniotic fluid, not even to say it all looked ok and she just seemed so flustered throughout. Mayve she wasnt comfortable with having to train someone...I dont know.

Me23 · 17/04/2014 15:06

mum2 I'm sorry she didn't make you feel comfortable, if scan say 12th then she did give you edd though. Also my scan doesn't comment on placenta or amniotic fluid at 1st scans only Nt and crl measurement.
At 20 week scan you get a lot more detail.

Hoping care is ok.

mum2kiss · 17/04/2014 15:12

I feel like if I hadnt read the report I wouldn't know anything based on the answers she gave. Why would she not say the 12th if thats what she was writing in the report? I know its just me.picking holes in the experience but i never had this sort of vague repsonse with any of dc1s scans! Also after waiting soooo long for the scan date to arrive they know how anxious you are so why not be as reassuring as possible?

gunwalloe · 17/04/2014 15:17

Captain I've already had my appointment through to see the anaesthetist and I haven't had a chance to tell them what I want yet

It's amazing that all our sonographers do things differently on my 12 week scan report I've got heart rate, Crl,Nt,and she's mentioned that skull brain spine heart abdomen are all normal bladders visible cord has 3 vessels stomach visable and left sided, upper and lower extremities both seen. Nasal bone present normal tricuspid flow, ductus venous ( a-wave) positive.

Binglesplodge · 17/04/2014 17:08

Thinking about you, carebear, hope today's news is good xx

CareBearWithFangs · 17/04/2014 18:10

Heard from the hospital, it's not good news and we won't be continuing with the pregnancy so I shall be leaving this thread now.

I really do wish all of you, all the best for your pregnancies.

Binglesplodge · 17/04/2014 18:18

So, so sorry, carebear. Sending hugs.

porcito · 17/04/2014 18:26

carebear so so sorry it wasn't good news. Thinking of you and your family
