I've now convinced myself that I have tummy pains and have just done knicker checking. Am a total idiot.

binkybunny · 22/04/2014 13:07

Mrsb wow how lucky to get all of that baby stuff! You will have saved a small fortune! We have been given bits and pieces. Had been offered a Silvercross pram, but have since been told by other friends it's really huge, doesn't fold much smaller and very old fashioned, so will have to go do dreaded buggy/pram shopping. I haven't a clue what to get and do not want to spend £1000 which lots of systems seem to be!

On the wee front, I wish I could go more, but even drinking nearly 2 litres of water a day I'm still dehydrated and have burning nearly every time I go. I have had tests at the doctors and there's no infection or anything wrong, I just need to drink more apparently. Unfortunately I am finding lots things hard to stomach and can't drink anything too acidic or it hurts. I am so sick of Cranberry juice!

Fissawissa · 22/04/2014 14:28

Can I join in please Smile
Due baby #2 October 13th.

Nothing glamourous taking I chose not to return to work after dc2 only 13 months between them and nursery fees stress of my job weren't worth it. I do a bit of typing for a company I used to work for. (I don't do a lot and it's getting less thanks to new technology) but it means I'm lucky enough to be at home for the kids and it helps pay for the extra things in life

mrsb87 · 22/04/2014 15:04

Yes binks I am a very lucky girl indeed! A friend of mine got a silver cross which she said was lovely but for the same reasons as you mentioned, got rid of it. She also found it really heavy! I think its of if you're a celeb and have a range rover! I was going to go to try a few out in the shops then get one second hand.
I've had the same issues as you with the dehydration, I wish I could pee more!

fedupofrainydays · 22/04/2014 15:11

So my day of jobs hadn't gone well. I'm so tired still I'm off to bed. Where is this 2nd trimester 'energy surge'??????

Kirstipops · 22/04/2014 17:49

Hi fissawissa - great name! Drop me a message if you want to join the FB group too (that goes out to other newbies too that I may have missed!)
I had quite a productive and energetic day at work (appetite has definitely kicked back in as well but apparently that's normal around the 18 week mark?), only to be semi-floored with round ligament pains (I think) as I walked the half mile for my bus home. Gone now but it was so uncomfortable as I walked, plus I was cursing myself for not having gone to the loo at work before I left as I'm sure that exacerbated it!!
I haven't felt any definite movement yet either, a couple of weeks ago I felt a sensation of bubbles popping and a weird undulating feeling at one point but that was prob just gas as I haven't felt it since!

I had my 16 week appointment today ( a week late) all good and we heard the baby it's such a long gap until the next appointment I'm glad now I've got these extra consultant appointments

gunwalloe · 22/04/2014 17:56

Kirsti I'm the same with movements I think I have felt her but it's not happening regularly enough for me to be sure

tak1ngchances · 22/04/2014 18:09

I haven't felt anything. Would love to so I am on high alert! I have a very busy bowel so have always had popping and bubbles. Not sure how I'll tell the difference Confused

magichandles · 22/04/2014 18:19

I've felt something a few times now and I'm pretty sure it's movement - it's like a fluttering feeling. I didn't feel any movement until gone 22 weeks with my first and probably around 16/17 weeks with my second, so it's nice this time to feel something so early.

I'm feeling pretty much normal now which is a relief, time to start watching what I eat again though - I haven't put on loads of weight (3-4 lbs) but I was hoping not to have put on anything yet.

tak1ngchances · 22/04/2014 18:20

I've put on half a stone...3 or 4 lbs is nothing!

MundayCakes85 · 22/04/2014 18:24

Binky I've just bought the Silver Cross wayfarer. It's super light, folds down in half and seems really easy to use. Do you know what type of silver cross it is?

Loulou888 · 22/04/2014 18:36

I wish there weren't so many yummy Easter eggs in the house.......... I need to start eating as normally as possible again too. I've put on 8lbs

binkybunny · 22/04/2014 18:39

Munday, they've not said but we're going to have a look at some point after we move house and know for sire how much storage space we'll have!

mum2kiss · 22/04/2014 19:27

I love the look of the revamped silver cross but unfortunately could never deal with the bulk. Hey I have a mil that's in the business of pram buying...I can get her to throw one your way if you like?! Lol!

I cannot stomach chocolate at the moment so im gutted that im missing out on all the easter treats! I looooove Cadburys and dd has got 6 eggs!!! No fair :(

goats you made me cry with laughter last night at your pinched nipples!

Ive also found that my pelvic pain is exacerbated by a full bladder! I had been pretty much pain free for a few weeks and then walked around windsor for 5 hours on saturday...oh my the pgp is definitely still here! It does not like it when I walk more than about 100 metres!

binkybunny · 22/04/2014 19:55

Ha ha mum I'm not looking forward to pram buying but I def dont want my MIL (or yours!) making the decision. If my mil was a bit closer its the kind of thing she'd do. She's already driving me mad from 6000 miles away!

Fissawissa · 22/04/2014 20:27

Hi kirstipops, thank you - I can't click on your name to be added to the FB page, not sure if I'm doing something wrong?

Kirstipops · 22/04/2014 20:35

Sent you a message fissawissa!

Been for my 16 week appointment today so happy to hear the babies heartbeat again, 4 more weeks and we will be able to see him/her again so exciting cant wait to feel strong movements, doesn't seem real till that happens.
Weeks are flying by though, back to work from maternity leave in a few weeks, but not before iam back off Smile

queenasanti3 · 22/04/2014 20:48

not 'long' before iam back off.

ohthegoats · 22/04/2014 20:58

Annoyingly I think I'm just back to permanent period type pain - I had a whole 4 weeks without it to enjoy, now the uterus stretching pain thing is back. How irritating. Thing is, I definitely feel bigger over the last 3 days, so it would make sense that things have stretched a bit.

I haven't even thought about prams and stuff - I'm leaving that as a treat over the summer holidays.

Definitely no movement here yet - but like I say, it all hurts again so I wouldn't be able to feel something fluttery over the combination of cramps and digestion issues!

fedupofrainydays · 22/04/2014 22:08

I always (well twice) put on lots of weight in the first trimester (except my mmc at 12 weeks was only 4lbs so should have smelled a rat) I'm at 9lbs now and it def coming from eating to stop feeling sick! I don't mind though as I know I can lose it again. Put on 3.5 stone with ds and lost it in 4 or 5 months. Hoping for less this time but I'm not going to worry about it.

We have the worlds most awful heavy pram. I've got some work to do to persuade DH to let me have another one. Or will ask my friends if anyone wants to get rid of one! Can't believe some are like a grand!! Wtf!!

pebble82 · 22/04/2014 22:11

Does anyone know what happens if you decide not to go back to work? Do you have to pay back all the pay you get when off?
