If you're pregnant after a previous MC and due in December 14 this is the thread for you.

If you're an obsessive knicker-checker or just want someone to chat to who knows where you're coming from you'll fit right in.

penguin 1:7250 that's great result. Because of our age we started at 1:200, but the revised combined test was 1:500, now waiting for the harmony test result.

After a little chat, I just told my brother: 'and I have news that's going to hurt you' to which he replies 'no, i'll be very happy for you' and then i confirm he was going to be an uncle.

And here's the scan pic from friday.

So so sorry Debbie to hear your news. Like many of the other ladies on here I also opted for ERPC for my second m/c and it was physically very quick and painless. You don't have to make any decisions now about ttc again. Maybe give yourself time to heal and see what the tests show. Sending you lots of hugs Thanks.

MrsFtn · 04/06/2014 20:04

Regular I'm very happy to hear your good news. NT measurement sounds fine (I think anything under 3mm is good. Hope you can relax a bit now.

Beebop all the very best for tomorrow - keep us updated.

Paranoid I'm glad you have been able to tell your brother and he took it well. I had a similar situation with my sister (she has 2 DCs from her first marriage and tried for over 5 years with her second husband but after two m/cs in the 5th year decided to give up ttc).

Franks I'm glad you seem to be feeling a bit better. A lot of people have said their symptoms settled at about 9-10 weeks so hopefully yours will too. I know what you mean about tempting fate - I was exactly the same about buying maternity clothes before the 12 week scan but I had to bite the bullet as nothing was fitting me! Here's a bit wet fish slap to the both of us for being so silly!

Penguin congratulations on your test result that's excellent (I'm almost convinced mine was just a typo on the letter!)

MrsFtn · 04/06/2014 21:45

Ok so I've just caved and ordered a fetal doppler from Amazon - eeek! Got to wait til 10-12th June for delivery though cos I'm too cheap to pay extra Angry

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 04/06/2014 22:04

Hehe ftn, DP just sticks his ear to my belly and says he can hear the HB, in the morning cos there are too many digestion noises in the evening!

Penguin13 · 04/06/2014 22:33

So exciting MrsFtn! My SIL said she would lend me hers but I haven't wanted to remind her since she has a week old baby to deal with.

I am feeling a bit meh this evening as I feel like my good intentions of gaining a reasonable amount are already up the spout and I've packed on a load of flab. I can't even blame ms just plain old greed. It doesn't help that my very newly pregnant friend is being user saintly and saying things like 'well of course I'm trying to be sensible and only give in to my cravings a tiny bit'. What triggered it was trying to find something to wear on a hen this weekend. I just look huge and fat (not pregnant just flabby) in everything. I swore to myself I wouldn't be one of these women who moans about getting fat when they're just pregnant but I feel huge for 14 weeks and bigger all over, not just my tummy. I am so so glad to be pregnant I just feel so unattractive and unhealthy. Is it too late to turn it around?

Penguin13 · 05/06/2014 06:26

*Er my friend is being uber saintly not user.

basgetti · 05/06/2014 08:40

Well my sickness came back with a vengeance a few days ago, never going to moan about lack of symptoms again! Unfortunately I ran out of cyclizine so off for another trip to the doctor in a bit. Lovely to see all the scan photos and nice to hear people are doing well x

Penguin13 · 05/06/2014 13:56

Oh Basgetti poor you. Sorry you're feeling so rough. You reminded me to be grateful for my mire than healthy appetite!

Slapping myself round the face with a wet fish for being on such a downer last night. Gonna put that one down to hormones. I resolve to be as healthy as I can from here and worry less about my fat arse!

Thinking of you Beebop hope it's good news for you.

OP posts:
basgetti · 05/06/2014 14:26

I might be brave and put a bump picture up later, trust me Penguin it will make you feel much better about yourself! I'm huge, and seem to be expanding sideways. I put on 4 stone (!!) when pregnant with DS, despite being tiny before and being sick the whole pregnancy. I'm only 5 ft 1 so it's really not a good look!

FranksBobot · 05/06/2014 16:33

FTN Thank you for the wet fish slap was just what i needed! I have also just ordered a doppler thingy today! I've been debating it for a few days so after seeing you have ordered one i thought i would too! It may be too early for me to use yet but it is more of a comfort blanket for me.

Penguin I give it a couple of weeks before your friends attitude changes. I can not ignore my cravings no matter how much i want too. I'm going mad for egg mayo (the cheapy pre potted kind) and then throw it all up 10 minutes later.
Don't feel bad about weight gain. Considering how ill i've still managed to gain 4lb in 2 weeks and have a rather bulging belly. I'm blaming DD for stretching my stomach muscles when i was pregnant with her and therefore its happening quicker this time. I did show at 13 weeks with her.

Basgetti Sorry to hear you are feeling rough again Sad Hope you managed to get to the docs for some more meds.

Paranoid What a fantastically clear scan pic! Glad all is well and your brother took the news well. It can't of been easy for you.

Beebop I hope all went well for you today

I have been calendar counting and have worked out that my dates must be slightly out! So according to docs i am 10+2 today but according to me I am 11 weeks today. Confused

basgetti · 05/06/2014 17:17

Hi Frank, yes he gave me another prescription. Also wrote me a sick note so I can get an extension for my degree coursework that I haven't done! Have you seen the doctor about your sickness? I hope you start to feel better soon.

By the way, my dates are out too. According to mine I'm 12+1 but according to my early scans I should be 11 weeks now. Just under 2 weeks til my scan so I'll find out then!

beebop100 · 05/06/2014 19:15

Thanks for the well wishes ladies, it really does mean a lot. The scan was amazing, baby is perfect, moving around so much that the pic is rubbish but who cares. This week has been so draining with all the worry that I just feel like I can have a good night's sleep for the first time in 2 weeks rather than wanting to go out and celebrate. Really never thought I'd see this day, I'm so happy. Borrowed a Doppler from work and heard the heartbeat yesterday, which was really reassuring, but I think the scan just lets you know it's growing ok and has all the bits it should have.

And Penguin, I feel your pain with trying to stem the weight gain. Went to a wedding at the weekend and only one of my dresses fits me now, which is horrific. And I just ate a veg chow mein and a sack of prawn crackers! What's wrong with me?! I never wanted to complain about any of the pregnancy side effects because I feel so lucky to be pregnant, but this is purely down to my own greed and laziness over the last few months. Enough is enough, my 2nd trimester resolution is to go out walking and stop single-handedly keeping the British crisps industry afloat.

Wishing everyone a lovely relaxing weekend. Hoping you feel better basgetti.

Penguin13 · 05/06/2014 21:08

That's brilliant news Beebop it's such a relief isn't it? Lovely that your baby was so active - ours was acting very chilled when we had our scan.

Thanks for your solidarity ladies, whether it's arse bump size or scan stress you lot always make me feel better. Went shopping today and tried on some skinny maternity jeans which being a classic pear I would never normally wear but they were soooooo comfy and actually looked quite good. They weren't quite right so didn't buy but am confident the right pair is out there! When I find them I may refuse to ever go back to normal jeans! Beebop I'll see your wedding dressing challenge and raise you a hen do of gorgeous 20 somethings with a cheerleader theme on one of the nights. Cheerleader style would look bad on me at the best of times but I tried on a vaguely short swingy skirt yesterday and looked like a potato on legs! Blush

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 05/06/2014 21:57

beebop great news, that's brilliant.

don't get me started on food, i used to eat so well... can no longer button my trousers, now living in baggy dresses and leggings.

Blue veins on boobs anyone?

guess what ladies, we are pregnant Smile

regularbutpanickingabit · 06/06/2014 06:57

Yay! So pleased the scan went well!
I currently living off bread, coke (which I don't ever drink!) and sweet stuff. The only dinner I can keep down us apple, cheese and oat cakes!
I bought maternity jeans from h&m and they are sooooo comfy.

MrsFtn · 06/06/2014 07:51

Wonderful news beebop I'm so pleased for you! I seem to be living on sandwiches and pasta at the moment. And the only things I can drink are orange juice and lemon squash or plain water. Cheese amd biscuits in the evening is becoming a regular habit too!

I saw my mum yesterday and she said "are you sure they've got your dates right?" So I told her yes, that's what the dating scan is for. Then she said "are you sure there's only one in there?" At which point I realised she was telling me how fat big I looked!

15 weeks today and just realised my original 12 wk scan date booked my mw from my first early scan should have been yesterday! That would have been a shock!

basgetti · 06/06/2014 09:08

That's great news beebop!

I'm living on cherryade and spicy tomato flavoured crisps. All other food just turns my stomach at the moment! It is my due date tomorrow from my MMC, I feel a bit down about it and it doesn't help that a friend and also a relative are both due their babies next week. I think I would feel better about it if I'd had my scan already and knew everything was definitely okay. Ah well, sickness permitting will try to have a nice weekend doing stuff with DS and keeping busy.

Wow 15 weeks MrsFtn, have you had any fluttering feelings yet?

CallingAllEngels · 06/06/2014 11:24

All good at scan.Bbl to update properly but right now heading outside with ds. 10+5!

Penguin13 · 06/06/2014 12:03

Basgetti I'm sorry your due date has come around when you are still faced with uncertainty, that must be tough, especially when surrounded by those who are due imminently. There is nothing wrong with taking the time to acknowledge your loss, I did and it helped me deal with how i was feeling and move forward rather than squashing my sad feelings away and pretending that everything was fine because I'm pregnant again which is what I felt people expected of me. I hope the sickness stays away for you x

OP posts:
FranksBobot · 06/06/2014 12:52

Great scan news Calling looking forward to your full update!

Basgetti I hope you don't find tomorrow too difficult. These dates will stick with us forever.

My doppler arrived this morning (thank you amazon!) and I am delighted to say that after 5 minutes of searching i managed to find a heartbeat!! It sounds amazing and i have had the biggest smile on my face since. I feel much more relaxed now and not so nervous about my scan (10 days to go)
I know i am definitely further along than i was with mmc which has help calm me down too.

It is a beautiful sunny day here so I have been sat out in the garden since doing the school run and apart from twice around 8am i havent been sick. YAY

PresidentSpreadable · 06/06/2014 13:18

I am so not going to buy a doppler, I just know that I'd either not find anything at all, or be listening to my own hb or digestive rumblings.

How lovely that you could hear it Franks. Smile I'd heard that even mws sometimes struggled to find the hb at 16 weeks, maybe you should consider a career change you've obviously got the knack!

Penguin13 · 06/06/2014 15:00

Yay for heartbeat Franks. Well done for finding it. I'm still planning to try SIL's monitor but a part of me does worry if I'll be able to find the hb or if I'll mistake placenta sounds for the hb. I did read that once the baby has a pattern of movement it's more important to pay attention to that for reassurance as it can be easy to mistake your own heartbeat for your baby's when it is beating faster because you're concerned and this can give a false sense of security.

I had one with Dd so kind of remembered roughly where to put the transducer and also what to listen out for. It helps if you can feel your own pulse at the same time so you can rule it out iyswim!
Full bladder and empty stomach were also on my side today.
I wasn't going to get one but it is around this stage that I bled with my mmc so I was getting really anxious. I had an amazon voucher so got it really cheap too. I think it will help me stay calm until I can feel kicks etc but can completely understand why others don't like them. I had prepared myself for not hearing anything as I'm still quite early.

MrsFtn · 06/06/2014 17:15

Great news engels hope you've had a lovely afternoonin the sun!

cursing myself now for being too stingey to pay for fast delivery of my doppler. Glad you've had good use of yours already Franks. I have been feeling what I'm sure is movement for a few days now. Mainly when lying in the bath or lying on my back in bed. Only flutterings so can't completely rule out gas! My next mw appt is 18th june and it is taking forever to get here. I feel bad for being so impatient after jumping ahead nearly three weeks with my 12 week scan Blush
